Very Sharp
This is a wonderful Tool to help make life a whole lot easier for you and your horse.... I have a mini horse, she will fidget around if take too long to get her trimmed.... This product is great for her and me.... but word of caution to everone who uses this product .... is VERY SHARP..... will cut you and your horse .... I would not use with difficult to handle horses.... And Alway wear Thick Gloves

Weak motor? Randomly seizes up.
I haven't had this real long or used it very much but twice now, the motor seized up apparently. Once I manually turned it by working a screw driver into the space, it started again, only to randomlystop again. I don't let it overheat. There are no directions for oiling or maintaining it.

This is ONLY for trimming moist, easy to trim hooves. NOT for dry hooves. USELESS.
Tried to return this item due to uselessness for my purposes. Since I've had it in my possession for over 30 days and only tried it yesterday, unfortunately this expensive little paperweight is now mine forever. Very very unhappy with this purchase. I thought it would make trimming difficult hooves easier. **IT DOES NOT.** This thing is essentially a wood carving set. It's nothing special, and the safety switch is impossible to turn on with one hand, due to the sticky, cheap plastic switch that has been placed under the equally cheap-feeling aluminum paddle. The value for dollar spent is extremely poor. Very displeased with this purchase. My own fault I should have shopped better and tried it out sooner.

Great product but had to return. After watching the video It was a little more advanced then I thought and out of my comfort zone.

Best hoof care purchase I have made.
I have drafts with hoof walls like rocks. Compound nippers barely helped get trimming done. I found the Hoof Boss on YouTube. It works well, and is easy to use. I thought it would be loud, but my shears are louder and the horses have no issues with it. It has turned an all day nightmare of hoof trimming into a couple of hours of time. I regret waiting as long as I did buy it. It has saved me a lot of hassle and time.
