P-38 and P-51 US Shelby Military Style Can Openers with a Split Ring (1 of each)

These are great to keep in a day pack or pocket when abroad, hiking or elsewhere you might need to crack a can open. They are small, super lightweight and strong. I could have gotten them cheaper in town, but once I put gas in the vehicle to get there I could just as well have Amazon ship them to my front door with the money spent on fuel. Shipping was fast and the items came in perfect condition. If that weren’t the case, Amazon would delete my post if the truth tarnished their image. They’ve done it before.

I use the P - 38 can opener in the Army. It worked well in the field. It worked well in my home as well. Must have if you go out camping or need a small portable can opener that works.

The P38 & P51 seem to be a true to military issue as is possible today.I own a P-38 from late 1960's and do not use it anymore, it was/is a cherished gift from a veteran.The ones I purchased are well made and sturdy.I have owned a cheap knock off and one gets cheap.I have used and do use the piece for a variety of uses, it is a very verstal tool.

When our expensive can opener broke, my wife asked me to get a can open. I got it open with a screwdriver and nearly stabbed myself multiple times when the driver slipped. Everyone needs one of these because when hi-tech fails, these work! They are not among the highlights of your week of things to do but they are effective, simple and work every time. I got another nice opener for everyday use but will always have a back up to avoid a puncture wound!

Keep one on my key chain and one in my wallet for camping work better then normal can openers

I misplaced mine. Didn;t know that Amazon had them. Exactly what I wanted.

Used these a lot for fast can opening work well

These can openers are obviously not for everyday use. Would work great for backpacking, or camping when weight/bulk management is a priority. Perfect for glove compartment or purse or EDC(comes with keyring) for use on an emergency. These don't open a can as quickly or as neatly as your regular kitchen can openers but do a passable job.

Absolute joke quality. After using it less than 10 times in a span of 2 weeks, the "hook" part has already worn down almost completely, rendering it useless.
