Work great for balconies and single family homes
Have four of these - two green and two blue. Started with one on our apartment balcony before we moved to a house. Recommend !

Mostly works for patio gardening
It has worked for the intended purpose of removing veg based food waste out of my trash bin. It minimizes my overall trash. As a single person, the capacity is good. I wish it wasn’t made of plastic but even my planters are mostly plastic. You need a catch tray if you are a patio gardener. My homeowner’s association would probably get on my case if I let the runoff just go directly onto my patio. It would work well sitting directly on soil that you are trying to enrich. Instead, I have a rectangular tray from IKEA that is meant for shoes that it sits on. In so cal weather, the run off eventually dries in the tray and I scrap it out and put it in my planters. The material inside doesn’t become compost and the smell can sometimes get foul if you are not careful to balance it out with paper and dry materials. I mostly put food waste. I use a scoop to get the material out to place in my worm bin if it ever gets too full. I’ve tried removing the material with garden gloves but my hands stunk terribly afterwards. I don’t buy fertilizer.

Super easy composter for novices
I've got two of these, and am buying a third. This is the first composter I've ever owned, and don't see a need to get anything else. It's simple, and the original has worked for me for almost two years already. It's survived Florida summers and is still working great!Don't expect it to make a huge amount of compost. It's small, but that's fine by me. That makes it easy for me to move it where I need to. I can put in my household scraps (NO animal products - unless you want critters trying to get into it), and mix it well with "brown" materials (like toilet paper rolls, paper towels that have been used to sop up water only, and um, Amazon boxes and packaging....).I roll it around every other day, and squirt it with the hose to keep it moist (don't sog it up, a little squirt will do ya.) Keep doing that, even after you fill it up. Be patient, keep rolling and keep it moist, and you will be rewarded with homemade brown gold!Once you have your compost, then you can take the roller off the stand, and roll it right where you need it. This is terrific if you don't want the hassle of dumping it into a wheelbarrow and hauling it to your garden or yard. I shovel it right on my Earth boxes and grow bags, and then wheel it back. I leave a little compost in there as a "starter", and get ready to make my next batch.I'm happy, my plants are happy, and I don't have to worry about something breaking on this. Couldn't ask for more.

It's cool and here are some tips
This is my 1st time composting and I found the following tips help1) Compost won't happen overnight. Can take months based on the weather. Heat helps.2) Having a 50/50 split on green compost (lettuce scraps, banana peels, grass clippings, etc) and brown compost (leaves, twigs, etc, dried up weeds) is super important. This will help reduce the issue with flies and avoid having a "wet" mix.3) Freeze your food scraps to kill off fruit flies. Fun fact, banana peels tend to have fruit fly eggs in them already and they just have not matured yet. If you freeze stuff like this overnight, then this will help with a reduction in fruit flies.4) keep it in direct sunlight for the first few weeks. Helps it compost quicker.5) don't expect every single thing to compost to tiny dirt at the same time. This takes time. Egg shells and twigs will not always have broken down to small pieces. Doesn't mean you can't use it. It will still be great compost to use.6) make sure you spin it every day.Hope these tips help.

Great Composter!
This composter is nifty. You need two - one to fill, then cook, and the other to fill while the first is cooking. It's easy to handle, easy to fill, and easy to empty. Critters can't get into it, and there's no offensive odor.

Meh
Bought 2 of these.Too small to compost anything quickly.A bit of a learning curve on how much brown to green gets the process going. Would be easy to get frustrated and not use but I'm determined.Following the directions diligently, it IS working but takes a lot longer than I thought. 8 months in and I don't have fluffy mulch yet.

2 of 3 units work well as intended
Ordered three units. Two work very well. Third lid is very difficult to slide in or out. Plastic appears to be warped on tumbler. Like the size making it easy to turn. Something that was difficult to do with the larger units. Overall love the product but may need stricter QC?

Works great in Florida- Easy!
I ordered this to use at my parents Florida residence, where they don’t have composting pick up. Instead, this worked beautifully for 6 months for organic fruit and veggie scraps, leaves raked in the yard, etc… Never put meat or bread scraps- only green and brown organic matter and water it/keep moist, rotate it every few days and it’s magic! I was actually surprised that it worked so well/fast. I think the consistent Florida sun helps!
