Great Product! The day after receiving this it rained ...
Great Product! The day after receiving this it rained without let up for the next four days. each days rain totals were 2 to 4 inches. I installed this into a new garage I'm building.days prior the hole for furnace vent pipe needed to be cut and pipe installed flashing or not. I sealed around the pipe and the roof (metal) as best as could be done. My sealing job didnt last long and water was rushing down the pipe onto the furnace. not good. the flange arrived late the next day. I deci8ded to wait as dark was setting in and the roof being metal its slippery. the leak needed to be stopped so in heavy rain up the ladder i went tools and flange in hand. I wasn't really expecting success with the amount of water flowing done onto the work area. i did the silicone the placed the flange, worked it around the metal roof hills and valleys the screwed it about every 1/2" around the entire bead. All leaking stopped and not a drop sense. 100% sealed in the pouring rain!! Was a easy install, great quality, worth the $$. despite the rain I didn't use but a half a tube of silicone, not much at all. Great Product & it installs under the worst conditions easily

Works well on steel roofs
Works well on steel roofs and seems like the best solution rather then using the manufacturer's flat steel chimney flashing when working with corrugated steel roofs. Whether or not local codes allow it, I'm sure I'll soon find out. I'm pretty sure these boots are likely no problem with smaller and shorter chimney stacks, where codes allows for shorter stacks for which do not need much support at all. However for taller or larger stacks, additional support might be required without using the manufacturer's own chimney flashing. Some codes dictate deviating from the manufacturer's instructions isn't permitted. However, sometimes there are much better solutions. It's possible as I think of it, to use this under a manufacturer's own steel flashing for around the chimney, as manufacturer's flashing tends to be much larger then this silicon boot. Reason why one would use both, is so they do not have to possibly worry about water getting into the chimney hole from the top side. However in freezing climates, snow and water might freeze at that point causing heaving further inducing leaking. I've seen these silicon boots used a lot up in Alaska.

Excellent product
Worked great.

Appears very sturdy - highly recommend
Couldn't get a tight seal on stove pipe going straight out of metal corrugated roof - this did the trick. Afterwards, I took a scrap of this silicone and placed it directly on my stove, to see how much heat it would take before melting. It didn't even begin to melt in the slightest when placed directly on the stove burning hot. Appears very sturdy - highly recommend

works great
Use this as a pass through for a barrel heater in the shop. Very pleased with the install and the heat it can handle.

Very easy to install, needs lots of silicone for metal roofs
I have a steel carport/garage and the roof has rolled beads every 18 or so inches for rigidity. I cut the hole in the roof for the stove pipe, then cut the silicone cone to fit. The aluminum ring really doesn't allow for sharp corners, and the thickness of the silicone also does not like a sharp angle (like at the base of a rolled bead). So I had to silicone the heck out of the base, and used about 20 self taping screws. It hasn't rained but I did pour water down the roof and there were no immediate leaks. I fired up my wood stove and the hottest the stove pipe got right before the roof was 375F, but that was not a continuous temp. Over the evening I checked with my IR temp sensor an it hovered around 275-300F depending on the amount of wood in the stove. Checked the flashing the next day and didn't see any melting or discoloration. For less than $40 its a quick and easy fix for a steel roof penetration... but it really doesn't like sharp corners... so use copious amounts of silicon to seal it up.
