Excellent Book Filled with Great Commentary, Photos, and Entertaining Information
This is a great book by an entertaining writer who also does a great podcast for Empire Movie Magazine. It is entertaining to read and the lists and photos really bring these classics back to life. If you like the 80's, Movies, or Pop Culture in general this is a joyous book to have. I look forward to the next book from Helen O'Hara which I understand is already in the works.

Good movie review
I liked the pictures and review of popular movies of the 80’s. I didn’t like that there is not a full list of 80’s popular movies. A lot of 80’s popular movies were left out.

Enttäuschend und oberflächlich.
Die Auswahl der Filme ist wirklich klein. Wer wirklich einen Überblick erhalten will sollte dieses Buch meiden. Es befindet sich auf "Bravo"-niveau kombiniert mit modernem intersektionalem Feminismus(2018) und verzerrt eindeutig die Realität wie sie tatsächlich war aber gerne in diesen priviligierten Mittelstandskreisen ohne einem konzeptuellen Verständnis der Vergangenheit ohne Ideologie und klarer Fakten zu erfassen vermag. 85% Bravo, 15% Ideologie, 100% unjurnalistisch, 200% unneutral, 300% Chance vergeben. Es wäre so leicht gewesen da es anscheinend wenig Literatur zu dem Thema gibt. Mehr in die Breite, mehr Vermittlung nicht der Ungerechtigkeiten sondern wie damit umgegangen wurde. Politisch unkorrekt war ein Stilmittel, kein ignoranter Rassismus. Das gleiche gilt für Sexismus.

Great book covering a golden age in cinema
A cracking read for anyone that loves the films of 80s. Split by year, each major release gets a double page spread, complete with a little box of facts, plus there's a few extra little pages of fun snippets on theme tunes, action heroes and more. It's not the most extensive look into the films but nor is it supposed to be, it's just a nice fun book to dip into to be reminded of some classic films that are still held dear my movie fans. For some reason I expected the book to be in a slightly larger format than it is (I was thinking A4 size but in reality it's actually a little bit smaller than that) but it's well written and covers pretty much every major or significant release you can think of over the 176 pages, and Helen is a great writer. Recommended.
