Animal Man Omnibus

I had never read Animal Man before but I am sure glad I did! The story was amazing and the art was as well. I loved that it crossed over with Swamp Thing. I read both in tandem and I read some of the best of my life. Just an awesome book all around. You won't regret buying it.

This is such an amazingly weird story. It really does a great job continuing on from Grant Morrisons legendary run. This is such a fun character that I wish DC would utilize more.

Cool book

Jeff Lemire at this stage is so prolific. His works are always interesting and exciting. Solid bindings. Overall coloring nicely done. Amazon packaging is never good on omnibus but this survived without getting dinged up. They use no packin material what so ever.

Good but a big comic

Great series. Packaging was poor (no surprise there) but still managed to come in good shape.

Buddy Baker is the avatar of the red. The power behind all animal life on earth. He uses these powers to be a superhero, Animal Man. He is also a husband and father of two. He works as a Hollywood stuntman and just stared in an indie film. Buddy and his family are about to go on a wild journey as the forces of death, the rot, make their move against all living things.Credit to DC for releasing this awesome omnibus. One of my favorite runs. Jeff Lemire brings his A-game for this series. It starts as a visceral cerebral flesh horror story but grows into big over the top horror and finally dives into some traditional superhero fanfare. His writing of the characters is so spot on. The Bakers are a fully fleshed out family trying to survive the craziness going on around them.The art is superb. Styles ranging from pop art to photo realism take the reader deep into this dark and horror filled world. Some of the line work is down right terrifying. The colors are great to and really enhance the creepiness unfolding.The omnibus itself is impressive. A table of contents with page numbering. A forward by Jeff Lemire. Lots of sketches after the story with some notes.All in all this is a great series that deserved the omnibus treatment. I'm so glad DC made it as Dan Didio has now said DC won't be producing as much collected editions due to sales. I'm very happy that an oddball series like this got to be published.

Great art , surreal at times, good to great writing and a very adult oriented story. Has some horror atmosphere here and there, peppered throughout.

Condition of the book was good. Mixed feelings about the story and art. I didn't love it but I didn't hate it. It was somewhere in the middle. Expected more because it was written by Jeff Lemire and I read Bloodshot Salvation by Lemire and loved it.
