My wife and I wanted to get away from aluminum deodorants, so I was happy when I found Lavilin's product here! We tried all 4 products offered (roll on, blue deo-stick, red deo-stick and cream), and here is the verdict: USE THE ROLL ON! The other products either don't work at all, or include harmfukl substances (for those of you who care what you put onto your skin)! Since this review here is mainly for the roll-on, please refer to my review for the other products in case you want more details. THE ROLL-ON: After testing it for 2 weeks, here are our results: - It DOES work IF you follow it's instructions (more about that later!) - It DOES have a scent, one similar to "Fresh Linen" in some room/bathroom sprays. NO, it's not THAT bad! But I'm glad to report (being a guy) that this scent pretty much disappears after the deodorant completely dried. WHAT? No "all-day-scent"? NO, and that's the point of this product! You see: since it inhibits the build-up of bacteria that causes the smell (gross, I know!), you WON'T NEED a scented deodorant! Get it? No smell, no scent needed! You're still sweating (which I what your armpits where made for), but not smelling! IMPORTANT: you HAVE TO follow the instructions for this product to work! - Put in on before going to bed! Weird, I know! But again: the point is that it will hinder smell to develop. I compare it with crabgrass-preventer which creates a barrier the weed can't penetrate! Same with this roll-on: you put it on BEFORE the weed (smell) grows, so you don't have to deal with it (smell) later! - DO NOT use soap for your armpits when taking a shower. Again: the product needs to REMAIN ON as long as possible, just like crabgrass preventer! Use just water instead! - You need to apply it like I described for a few days, and you'd be AMAZED by the results! I know it seems to be the better deal, but the results are VERY disappointing! You can read my f Here's the skinny on the cream: - The "cream" has the texture/consistency of almost dried up drywall joint compound (AKA putty, mud). Or think of the very thick, white 70SPF sunscreen that you found at the bottom of your beach/pool bag after 3 years. There is a REASON they supply a Spackle! - It's VERY difficult to apply, and you need to wash your hands thoroughly after application - Men: seriously? You think you can apply this easily w/o shaving your armpits? Good luck! Plus they include ingredients like Propylene Glycol (!), PEG-40, Tetrasodium and other stuff you can get in cheaper products any time! No need to wait for the sticks to arrive. All we can say is : DON'T waste your money, but invest it in the roll-on. You'd be MUCH happier! I hope this review helped you making an informed decision! This stuff works! What can I say - I stink after workouts in the Arizona heat. I read reviews of this in the NYT Wirecutter section and I thought I'd try. It says 3 days. Not yet brave enough for that, but I do go 2 days between applications - and it holds up to the heat, vigorous exercise, and my wife's sensitive nose. In fact, she was so impressed that she uses it now as well.

I shelled out the big bucks for this product because I had read online reviews that said this was the _only_ natural deodorant that actually worked (meaning you didn't have to reapply it every 4 hours like all of the others). I will say, the reviews were for the tub of cream Lavilin, not this roll-on. I received this product and gave it 2 weeks to do its magic. Unfortunately, for 2 weeks I hid in my cube at work because I could smell my own stink, and I had to wash all of my overshirts and jackets every day (usually they last several wearings, and that's not because they get stinky by then). I even went to the bathroom and washed my pits with paper towels and hand soap trying to get the smell out a few times (it didn't help). And it's funny, because never before in my life have I had that much trouble with stinking. I have had better results with a rose-water and baking soda mix, and it's a lot less expensive. Plus, it doesn't burn for a couple days after you shave, like this product did. In fact, that burning lead me to wonder if it would eventually irritate my skin and make it peel off, just like propylene-glycol based deodorants do (think Tom's of Maine). Long of the short: don't waste $20 on this (did you know there's only 2 oz in this bottle?). You can buy other natural deodorants that work just as well/poorly for less. Or you can make your own by mixing 1 C rosewater with 1 Tbsp baking soda and spraying it on (will still needs reapplied at least once that day).

This stuff was pretty crazy. It was the most effective odor killing deodorant I've used. Ultimately my skin didn't tolerate it that well over time, but this is a common issue with deodorants for me so I can't single this one out on that basis. If I hadn't had that issue I would definitely still be using it today. Price can also fluctuate on this badboy and sometimes it gets into a kind of crazy range, they're going to need to fix that and get it consistently reasonable.

I recently became an all-natural deodorant user, and after doing a lot of research and trying other products, this one works the best! Pros: - Despite the fact that I've had to change my routine (which was annoying at first since I was used to just slapping on deodorant in the morning - see 'cons' below), this product works the best. It actually does last for about 3 days - even after I went to an intense TRX workout class and was dripping sweat, then the same day went to a dance class for 1.5 hours and was again sweating hard. Without even rinsing out my pits, the next day or so I didn't smell AT ALL - I even made my roommate do a whiff test. - The roll-on feature is great, since it makes the application mess-free. I've used other natural deodorants that require using your fingers to wipe it on, which isn't my favorite since that was just annoying for my morning routine, and especially as a lady with long nails and getting the product stuck underneath (ew). - The fragrance is very neutral, and fresh. Can definitely be used by men or women. Cons: - It did require changing up my routine a bit, since you're supposed to put it on clean/dry armpits before you go to bed so that it soaks in completely. - Similarly, you can't really use it in the morning. I've tried a few times, and the product definitely is not as effective (plus it takes a few minutes to soak in, so you can't put it on and then immediately get dressed. That doesn't annoy me, but probably depends on your particular routine and how flexible you are). Tips: LADIES - don't put it on right after shaving, because most likely it will aggravate your skin and create red bumps, redness and/or a slight rash (this is specified in the directions). However, this also happened with other all-natural products I've tried as well. I've shaved in the morning and then put this on at night, and don't get any irritation.

I want to give this product more stars. All the stars. It has successfully eliminated one of the things that has caused me immeasurably grief throughout my life: my body odor! In my previous life, I would put on my antiperspirant in the morning, and by about 3pm I could smell myself. Terrible! I tried all kinds, Dove, Dove Clinical Strength, Ban, Mitchum, etc. I referred to that as my previous life because this deodorant really has changed my life. It has taken away my pit stank forever. I have been using this product for over a month. I have not smelled my own body odor in over a month. Coincidence? NO! I live in the South Mississippi heat and humidity. It gets so bad, you have to shower in the middle of the day to even hope to prevent swamp ass (I apologize for the imagery). I am so, so, so thankful for this deodorant... It can be tricky to get started with and be sure it is working, so let me lay it out for you. 1) It does not work instantly. There will be 3-7 days of adjusting. Just deal with the odor, it's worth it, I promise. Follow the instructions provided to you with the Lavilin. 2) Do not wear any other deodorant. Apply the Lavilin up to once a day, as needed. As time goes by, you will need it less. Currently, I apply it only every 3-4 days. 3) You're going to sweat. I'm sorry, but you're going to sweat. It does't go away. This is NOT an antiperspirant. You will get used to it in time. I have happily noticed that as time goes on, I sweat less. Sweating does not mean it's not working. Sweating is good for you! Google it. 4) The Lavilin does have a pleasant smell that stays on until you shower. Showering does not seem to decrease the effectiveness of the Lavilin. If you notice some familiar smells by the end of the day, just rinse your pits off in the shower. The smell magically does not come back for a long time. I highly recommend this deodorant. It has changed my life. I have one less (huge) thing to worry about. It's wonderful. I have no idea how this deodorant even works, I just know that it does. I forgot what my own BO smells like. Isn't it wonderful? You can forget too! My girlfriend uses Lavilin now too. I will update this review if anything should change.

I have a "strong" body chemistry and can challenge many run-of-the-mill deodorants in the summertime, BUT I also have a high sensitivity and always get major rashes from antiperspirants. This sounded almost too good to be true from the reviews, but with a scheduled summer vacation to south Florida and the Florida keys (95 degrees and 90% humidity every day) I thought it was worth the price to buy one and try it. First off, it is good - very good. Way better than your standard Speed Stick (expected, given the price). And no irritation or rash for me either. But it is not perfect, and oddly on some of my sweatier days in the sweltering Florida sun I was still getting some unpleasant underarm odors. I cannot be sure, but I *think* what happens is that because this does not impede the flow of sweat, I was soaking my shirts and the offending bacteria were taking root there. After getting back to my room I noticed the smell was stronger in my shirt than my bare armpits, but it was still present in the latter. Whether my guess is correct and there was just an "odor transference" I cannot say for certain, but my point is that this CAN BE OVERCOME if you have an oily-enough complexion like I do. Other thoughts to consider: The fragrance is very floral, if you are a guy and that sort of thing bothers you. I am (a guy), but it does not bother me and I found the scent quite clean and fresh smelling. It's rather thick and does take some time to dry, and as others have said (and the instructions verify) you should not put on your shirt until it has dried completely, otherwise it'll rub off. If applied right out of the shower I found the drying time close to 20 - 25 minutes, so this is a bit of an inconvenience and must be considered it you are always in a hurry. The bottle is small and it does not last long. It looks about half empty after my 2.5 weeks on vacation, so I estimate a roughly 2-month use out of each bottle, which makes it pricey for a deodorant. Overall a very good deodorant, but a challenge to recommend given the high price. If your chemistry is lighter you may find it more effective than I do, but as it is I rate it better than your standard drugstore deodorants, but not exactly "great."

2024 Update - If you are looking for an alternative (since this one is made in Israel and we don’t want that now, do we!) - Indian made Caveman Naturals has been working really well for me so far. It is a fraction of the price and just as effective if not better. So yes, bye bye Lavilin! ———————————- This is an excellent choice of deodorant if you lead an active life! I use this at the gym, home, office and everywhere and am happy to report it is super effective. After a week of use, I have now moved to using it every alternate day and no odour issues so far. It doesn't travel well though and leaks a bit... But given how effective it is, I am more than happy to not make a fuss about the packaging. This is one item I am sure to buy again.
