Gates K070763 Micro-V Serpentine Drive Belt

Perfect fit for my 05 Rav4 AWD 2.4l W/AC. Bought this last year and never got a chance to install. On the way home from work this morning the old one blew so had it and installed it, IN 19DEG COLD SNOWY WEATHER. Fortunately it was correct. It was a bear to install having to manipulate the belt while releasing the tension on the tensioner, but got it done. FYI easier with two people when it comes time to actually install it.

When I ran auto parts stores years ago, I sold Gates products. They were always top quality. Now that I'm retired, I still use them on my own cars. This belt fit as it should with no problems.

Installed nicely fitment wise and no operational problems. One tip I will share is I also purchased ON AMAZON a special wrench because there is minimal room to work on the belt or tensioner or water pump since they are unified operationally. All very close to the fender well. 05' Camry LE 2.4 I4 eng. Here is the amazon description you can copy and paste. I am inclined to say for me this flat wrench is essential. Flat and long box ends (not open ends) 12mm one end & 14 mm other end. 14mm is the one you will need. As far as this belt purchase, great no problem. I used to shop other brands in the past, but I only go for Gates brand now. They are OEM equivalent belts. I don't see any cost cutting on the belt's design. Some belt manufacturers will produce belts with low height grooves. Gates' belt has the groove design similar to what my RAV4 came with. That provides better grip into the pulleys and longer wear life. I know it'll outlast other brands well over the next 80K miles simply by the material quality it was made with. OEM quality without the dealer price!

Fit 2004 Camry 4cyl. 19mm socket on the tensioner bolt and lower SLOWLY or the bolt might break off requiring tensioner to be replaced. For me, I let the belt warm up in the sun a bit and slipped it on over the water pump pully and not the alternator.

If you follow the right procedure, it is an easy install. If you try to get creative and cut corners, you can lose your fingers! So, do it right! Cannot comment on longevity as yet. But, it is a Gates product. I expect it to last!

I am 70 years old and have been using Gates Rubber products since my first car in 1969. That's because my Dad used them most of his life on the cars, trucks and farm implements his family owned. For those reasons, I have no reason to expect anything but the best quality and longest lived performance Gates products have always given me. Nuff said!
