how does this compare with IbGard and Heathers?

I am not familiar with the brands you mentioned. A Dr who is a gastrointernologist, at Loma Linda Hospital in CA, recommend this for my 49 year old daughter. She has been taking one daily for 3 years. Excellent product for us.

Do these help with constipation?

I'm not for sure because I belched them up so much they made me sick to my stomach. I use IBGard peppermint pills and have never had a problem though. Just don't take them too soon before bed time. Also, I use Miralax for constipation.

what ingredients are listed on the label? Is it gluten, soy, dairy, etc. free?

Pepogest softgels - 0.2 mL peppermint oil , 0.1 mL Organic Soybean Oil Non-GMO , other ingred'nts - Gelatin , pure water, aqueous coating solution - modified cellulose fractionated coconut oil non-hydrogenated , sodium alginate, stearic acid, glycerin . . . No wheat, gluten, classic sodium, sugar, lactose, and no yeast.... We have found in our almost 80 yrs of care for our digestion, that peppermint oil seems to be a "natural" way to quell, suppress and mitigate gastrointestinal flare-ups

Is the Glycerin vegetable or animal?

Both gelatin and glycerin are listed but without a source. I suggest you check manufacturer website. If your focus is animal products, gelatin in a bigger concern than glycerin.
