VERY DISSATISFIED
Bought this weed whacker for my husband for his birthday in June, in August it stopped working. Called for help and was told we had to take it to a dealer to have it fixed, but we may be responsible for the repairs. Was told that even before we purchased it there are things that are considered normal wear and tear that we would be responsible for. So disappointed and will NOT recommend to anyone! For a company to not be willing to make it right is just awful! He has only owned this for not even 2 full months before it stops working and didn’t even have the chance to use all the attachments we purchased. That is NOT right!! Thought Craftsman was a better product than this.

Cuts well, but bump cap won’t come off
Update: The penetrating oil worked and the bump cap came off easily. However, my initial review is still four stars for two reasons: 1. The manufacturer’s unnecessary over-tightening of the bump cap nut (I’m not the only one to have this problem ... check some of the other reviews), and 2) The manufacturer’s non-sensical decision to make two almost identical 25cc string cutters, but have one where the bump cap is turned clockwise to remove, while the other is the opposite. Hint for new users: check the model number and closely read the associated instructions.Pro: Overall, this is an excellent ‘weed wacker’. It was easy to assemble, was easy to start, in my initial run it cuts well, and is compatible with many of the Ryobi accessories I had purchased with my old string cutter.Con: When I ran out of .095 monofilament line I tried mightily to remove the bump cap. According to the instructions this model should have the cap come off clockwise. Either way, I cannot remove the bump cap. I even had one of my sons, who is a power lifter try ... no joy. Last attempt I put it in a pair of vice grip pliers, but it still wouldn’t budge. It is now soaking in penetrating oil.

It is piece of garbage! Customer service is useless!
We have been buying products from Craftsman for a long time, but the quality of products made by them have gone down! I used this product for a couple times, and it now would not start! I called their customer service, and I was directed to 3 different service centers. None of these 3 centers refused to service their products!!! In addition, these technicians said nothing nice about Craftsman products. Please do not buy Craftsman products! You may want to buy these products from HUSQVARNA.

Lousy customer support
Tried calling craftsman one 800 number for support and after being on hold for 55 minutes I finally got someone on the phone who was worthless and useless and wanted to transfer me to some other department. So now I have a worthless weed eater that I cannot put new line on the spool. Craftsman is crap.

Failed after four uses.
Failed after about 4 uses. The manufacturer support number listed on this page has no one answering calls, and the support website lists several brands but not craftsman. For the short amount of time it worked I could have hired a lawn service to come a few times at the same price. My prior weed eater lasted over ten years. This was such a disappointment.

If you do chose to take the safety cover off due to it obstructing vision, (this could be dangerous)
The only thing I would change about this is the safty cover for the one its to big it obstructs vision, I take mine off and use the sidewalk for sharpening the line

Unreliable engine
Updated! This only worked for half of the summer after bought it. Took it fully apart and put it together again and we can’t get it to start again. Died while using it last summer. I put a review out about it thinking we’d get it running again but we couldn’t.

Great trimmer for the price. But-
Good trimmer, great for the price, but very heavy and awkward. You'll definitely need to purchase a strap for it to make the job easier, which isn't included. Only other downside is you better not wear shorts while using, cause 50% of what you're cutting will fly back at your calves at 100mph!
