Great gift for a new baby!
I loved the quilt so much. Enjoying working on it and easy to follow pattern. The only thing I did not like was trying to figure out colors when separating the threads. They need to be numbered.

Mixed Emotions; but in the end, very pleased!
Pros: the design is just beautiful and fun. Cons: Thread does not come separated and the task is daunting. It took me 6 hours to separate all the thread. Here is how I did it: 1. Separate into like colors. (blue, red, pink, etc) 2. Look at the color chart in the directions. See how many shades there are of any said color. It helps to know how many shades you are separating the color into, because some colors have several shades and look so much alike. Sunlight helps with the more difficult ones. 3. The directions also tell you how many strands for each color shade, so once you have separated them, it is easy to figure out the correct color name for each color shade. 4. I cut strips of a cereal box and put a slash at each end of the strip. this will secure the thread as you wind it around the strip. As for the stitching, I opted to do my own thing. I shaded as was needed for distinction, but I did not follow the directions for all the shading. It was too intricate for my liking and patience. So, if you can make it though the thread sorting, but feel discouraged by the directions and the intricate shading, then let me encourage you to choose your own colors and shading, like you would if you were coloring in a color book.

Frustrating Chart
Love the design, but hate the poor workmanship of the chart. I've done a Bucilla quilt before and didn't have this issue. Yes, they all don't come with pre-sorted floss, but I managed to figure that out. What is really annoying is the color chart symbols. There are 4 solid black and 4 gray dashed lines for outline stitches that look very much the same. I don't believe it's that complicated to come up with another 7 different line designs/symbols. Also, the chart calls for #12 satin stitch, but also at the bottom says this is only used in the Mother Goose lap quilt, so it's not listed. Using the completed design photo only helps so much.

Mother Goose is trying to fly away
I’ve recently received my kit and have been excited to get started. However, the thread is a mess. I’ve sorted and am still two or three colors short so I’ll be looking for younger eyes to help me find those missing and blended colors. It would have helped for the thread to have been pre-sorted and numbered or named. Also, the instructions are not clear when first looking at and opening the kit. It seem to be geared for anyone who works this art regularly. I’m a visual person. Instructions geared toward that would help, especially since it’s a huge project.

The only thought that went into this piece of crap was how to scam people out of their time
DO NOT BUY THIS QUILT! What a cluster this is. I've been working on sorting the thread for 6 hours and I'm still not done. The directions supposedly give you the number of strands for each color to make sorting easier...I call B.S.! I have a huge pile of thread with only 2 or 4 or 5 strands but guess what? There are no 2 or 4 or 5 strand colors. Not only do you not get enough thread to complete it, but if you want to go buy the DCM colors, you have to put on your Sherlock Holmes hat and magnifying glass. I'm sure the FBI couldn't figure this birds nest of thread out. Some colors are so similar you'd have to be a psychic to figure it out. I have absolutely no idea how I can complete this disastrous attempt by Bucilla at a quilt and I haven't even made one freaking stitch yet. You would think at the price, this would be a well thought out, quality quilt. The only thought that went into this piece of crap was how to scam people out of their time, money and sanity. Do you like frustration, aggravation, tedious endeavors and are a sadomasochist? Then this is the quilt for you. To the rest of you, save yourself time and your liver from all the alcohol you'll have to ingest by just banging your head against a brick wall, repeatedly hit your shin on a table and smash your fingers with a hammer instead of purchasing this Mother Goose baby quilt.

Very Cute
This quilt is very cute but the 'x' were too small for my Mom to see clearly, I rated it as a 5 because there was nothing wrong with it, if anyone rates other quilts please state how big/small the 'x' are, my mom loves to cross stitch but she needs a larger stitch to see and I'm running out of options on where to buy the kits.

Very disappointed in Bucilla for decreasing their product standard of quality.
This is my third (3) Mary Engelbreit Mother Goose quilt to embroidery. The quality of the instructions AND the cross-stitch stamp is FAR INFERIOR to the initial quilt. Because of the labor intensive embroidery and cross-stitching, I removed all of the machine stitching as I worked this quilt. Once I was finished with all of the embroidery, I cut off the outside binding, added another layer of batting and fabric backing (which hides all of the back of the quilt) and added a more pleasing edging. Now, I am quilting all of the layers together. Who ever owns the company needs to go back to the original pattern which included Little Boy Blue, Little Miss Muffitt, and Mary Had a Little Lamb. If not the original pattern, at least improve your color and stitch instructions and the printing of the actual quilt. As much time as it takes to produce this (could be) heirloom, it would be nice to have a better product to start. My next grand-child probably will have a machine embroidered Mother Goose story line with the quilt just being quilted. The quality of this third quilt is such much below the standards of the first quilt. Sorry Bucilla but you need to get with the program.
