Remarkably Designed and Executed Product at Perfect Price Point
Absolutely first class performance and easy to use. Most impressive! Due to Covid-19 restrictions, I gave myself a haircut for the first time with absolutely no training or help...and ended up with what I think is comparable to the best haircuts I've ever gotten from professionals over many years. I trimmed the front of my hair first with a sharp scissors...and did all the cutting with dry hair. Then I picked up the clipper and experimented with holding it different ways and simulating cutting with the unit turned off, while I looked in a hand-held mirror and regular bathroom wall mirror. Then I started cutting the sides and back - very nervously at first! Good lighting all around is important to see what you're doing! It is necessary to have a large rectangular mirror with a handle, to see the back of your head, so you can make sure you are holding the clipper at the right angle, but after a short time, I felt confident I could do the back of my head without the mirror - just by feel. The trimmer has a squared-off section just behind the cutting head which makes it very easy to position the unit by holding it with the finger tips of one hand right up there in the front. You can do that without even looking in the mirror, once you get the feel of it. I did one half of the back of my head with one hand from the right side, and the other half from the left with my other hand, after first carefully combing my hair so the hairs are as evenly parallel as possible. I also used the maximum 25mm length set up with the thickest guide shoe and longest fine adjustment setting, which gave me a very neat result, but nothing not like I got years ago in the Marine Corps! Just smoothly rotate the clipper away from your head at the top of each upward pass from the bottom at the point where the curvature increases toward the top. I took it very slowly at first, and when the overlapping passes (like a lawn mower) still seemed a little uneven in the mirror, I just repeated the cut all the way around until everything was automatically evened up. The beauty of the guide shoe is that you can make the same cuts over and over without any gouges! I had to re-comb between repeats to get long hairs coming off the top which get pushed up away from the cutter at the top of each stroke. By the way, the tendency of longer fine hairs like mine to get pushed up instead of going through the guide shoe near the end of the stroke is probably why they don't seem to make shoes for cuts longer than 25mm (1 inch). I probably took a full hour with the clipper running most of the time, and it was still at 70% charge when I finished. (Have a small vacuum cleaner handy when you finish, or you'll have a rapidly spreading area of loose hair on the floor around you.) I'll never go back to a hair stylist or barber...and the next cut will be at least twice as fast - with much less worrying along the way! Just go for it, it's really easy and even kind of fun!

Good clipper
I can't really give 4.5 stars so I did 5. It's not perfect but very nice. I replaced a mass market brand product that has a turnable cutting head to help with self-trimming from different angles. That one was much easier to hold in appropriate positions. That is the only thing it did better than this one. The plastic comb I use cracked and keeps falling off and they want nearly as much as I paid for the whole thing new, just for a replacement comb. No thanks. Got this instead. I noticed the moving part of the cutter is white, like it's plastic or ceramic? Not a choice I would have thought to be good, but it works very well. I get far fewer hair-splinters from stroking my beard after using this product than with the previous. The charge lasts a long time. The operation is quiet, the results are great. The only other thing I'm not super stoked about is that a lot of hair collects inside the slot for the moving parts and it can take some time rinsing and shaking to get most of it out.

Nice clippers...checks most of the boxes
Pros - Looks like a quality built product...feels solid, nice design and material finish. - Price is very good considering the quality and features relative to comparable products and well known brands - Size and form is comfortable and manageable... not too big and clunky - Cordless & rechargeable...recharges using either a standard plug-in outlet or USB port (standard plug head and USB connector provided) - Large digital LED readout of battery level - Can rinse under water to make cleaning easier - Seems to cut hair easily with a sharp blade and without any pulling so far (have only used once) - Multiple cutting guide comb attachments AND a fine tuning adjustment mechanism for even greater control of its cutting head to cut hair at many different lengths - Noise level is quite low... very tolerable - Able to run for relatively long periods without unit getting hot CONS - Instructions for how to use product are not that well written and have some obvious omissions of content that leaves the user to figure things out through trial and error. For example, their is no good instructions explaining how to use the fine tuning adjustment mechanism to achieve a range of cut hair lengths with each of the attachable cutting guide combs. There is also no good instruction for how to properly reattach the cutting head using its bottom tab to guide its reinsertion after its been removed for cleaning and oiling. - The attachable cutting guide combs have their cutting length measurements molded into their surface of the same color so they are very hard to read. A contrast color printed measurement indicator is needed and missing. - The measurements molded into the attachable cutting guide combs are for a range of lengths for each comb and are listed in mm rather than inches. Therefore, the user needs to figure out how to set their clipper with the fine tuning adjustment mechanism to achieve the desired cut length within the range of lengths listed on each clipper (since this is not spelled out in the instruction booklet) AND must calculate the conversion of mm to inches to figure out what length their hair will be cut using each comb and the fine tuning adjustment setting... together. - Their is no proper carrying or storage bags provided for the clipper and its many parts and attachments. This makes the product and its accessories difficult to keep organized for use and could result in misplaced or lost parts.

A more advanced replacement for traditional trimmer brands
I purchased this one as an alternative to the Philips Norelco trimmer that worked fine as far as it worked, but their batteries tend to die on the spot after a couple of years. THINGS THAT WORK BETTER: 1. Charging via the USB cable is way more convenient (you only need to carry/have the USB cable and use any standard USB power adapter) than using a custom power adapter that many other brands use. 2. The fact that they provide two rechargeable batteries, and the battery can be charged separately is a plus, because you can practically hot-swap a charged battery in seconds. This is NOT so important, though, because 3. The charge lasts almost forever. I've been using the trimmer once a week since September, 2019, and I am still at 60%... Haven't swapped batteries yet... 4. You see the level of charge left! You know when to charge or swap batteries! THINGS THAT JUST WORK WELL 1. I was originally somewhat skeptical about adjustments. The trimmer itself can only go to 2.5mm, and I am usually leaving 3mm of stubble on my face. Everything turned out well: They provide a whole number of attachments, one for each trimming setting above 2.5mm. The 3mm one works very well, it is very easy to detach/attach it, and it holds sturdy in place while trimming. It doesn't bend or break. 2. Trimming quality and blade sharpness are fine, no issues here. CAN BE IMPROVED 1. Why don't they use a STANDARD USB charging port, like USB-C on the battery/device end? You HAVE to use the enclosed custom USB cable. This is fine in most cases, but why do I need another cable when I travel? Or what do I do if this stupid custom USB charging cable gets lost? They'd rather use a standard cable and drop the USB power adapter from the package - everybody has one... SUMMARY: A more advanced and user-friendly trimmer compared to the traditional Philips Norelco that many people used. No compromises on the trimming side. At the same time USB charging, replaceable battery, and displaying remaining charge are noticeable advantages.

These clippers are great.
*update, they died after 3 years. Seal gave out and they turned on randomly and afterwards the switch stopped working - still a great value. I hope this next unit lasts as long. I'd left them in the shower for a few days so I possibly could have prevented the failure by only keeping them in the shower while I was using them.* I used these for shaving my head in the shower, about twice a week, for about a year now. This works great for me because it's very low maintenance and doesn't clog the drain at all. They are really totally waterproof and the ceramic blade has held up great. The battery runs for over a month with my routine. The only issue I have is that the set seems to need the battery charged IN the clippers to allow the battery charge level to reset. This is more than an issue of monitoring the charge level because if the clippers are discharged and you put a charged battery in, they still won't run, I assume because the charge level hasn't reset. If you charge a pack while it's in the clippers it will reset the charge meter and then they will run just like new. I'm not sure if this is unique to my set and I've never tried to discharge and run the batteries back to back. Since I have to recharge the clippers so rarely this has been a very minor issue and these were a great value for $38.

If I had known how much better, I would have replaced my old hair cutter years ago!
I recently purchased the Hatteker RFC-690 to replace a similar hair trimmer from a household name brand. Pros: I like the styling and functionality. There is a quick and accurate dial to adjust the trim for side burns and back of the neck as well as several graduated trimmer attachments. Turning the trimmer on for the first time I was rewarded with a smooth and well machined quality sound, not a loud buzzing sound I had become used to with my former trimmer. The actual cutting was a big improvement, no uneven cutting requiring multiple passes, no divots, no pulling - just the pleasure of using a finely made tool. Since I am bald and keep the hair neat around the sides, any trimmer mishaps are readily visible. On the practical side I can plug into 110V or 220V when traveling without a bulky adapter, it is rechargeable/cordless with a very visible percent of charge readout, and it can be rinsed off or even used in the shower. I comes with a spare rechargeable battery, light machine oil, and the graduated trimming guides. Cons: I have found no downside, even the price was very competitive especially for such a high quality small appliance. Jim H

Awesome trimmer right out of the box!
I have bought this trimmer multiple times and haven't really considered a different option when the time rolls around for me to start shopping again. I feel like this thing does a great job getting super close (I shave my head with it before using a razor) when it's on the "smallest" setting, but then also takes care of my beard trimming as well. There are more attachments that I would ever need, but they might be helpful to some. I love the hair catcher. The only issue I've ever had with one is that I've dropped two of them and although I've tried my damdest to get them back together correctly, I feel like I can never get them working quite as well as they did before. Basically, buy this trimmer, don't break it, and I think you'll be happy with your purchase!

Why Don't You R.I.P My Third Hatteker?
I'm a big fan of cutting my own hair. I use a hair clipper twice a week during my shower—I've been doing this for the last 20 years. My last three hair clippers have all been from Hatteker, and each one stopped working after about 18 months. I kept buying Hatteker clippers because, first, they are relatively cheap, and second (and most importantly), my muscle memory is accustomed to their form factor. However, I absolutely hate my third and most recent Hatteker—not because it won't power on after 19 months (purchased in January 2023), but... I know no electronic device is immortal, and I didn't make a fuss when my first two Hattekers died a few years ago. But this third one "died" during the day when I needed it and then resurrected itself in the middle of the night—twice—scaring the hell out of me and my wife. For a moment, I thought it was an earthquake because of the loud, powerful vibrating noise. What can I do in the middle of the night with a self-resurrecting clipper? There’s no way to remove its battery, and I couldn’t throw it out the window or into the trash bin—it felt immoral. And my house isn’t big enough to place it far enough away to avoid hearing its buzzing. The clipper buzzed for a while and then stopped—completely unaffected by the power button. So, I wrapped it in our super soft, fluffy bathroom mat, thinking it could help muffle the noise, but after a couple of hours, it buzzed again! It was still loud enough to wake me, my wife, and probably our neighbor’s cat. After a sleepless night, it seems to have finally reached its end (photo attached in commemoration). I'm planning a trip to the local recycling center so it won’t resurrect again in the house. Finally, I've decided to go against my body (muscle memory) and follow my heart in search of a quality clipper—any suggestions, folks?

Broken after 1 month and no response from seller
After about 1 month, the trimmer doesn't hold a charge. I tried contacting their customer service through Amazon, and they never got back to me.
