Planting Instruction: 1, These seeds are already opened, and you can put them directly in warm clean water for germination. The water should be between 70 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit. 2, Change the water twice a day. Over the next 3 days, the seeds will begin to appear lumpy. Shortly after that, they will begin to sprout. 3, Put about 3 inches of soil in the bottom of a plastic bucket. Plain garden soil will work well. Add enough water to the bucket to cover the soil by about 3 inches. Let the bucket sit overnight to allow the soil to settle. 4, Plant the seed about 1 inch deep. 5, Transplant the lotus to its final growing place after a couple of weeks. This should not be done until the lotus has a number of leaves floating on top of the water in the bucket. 6, Plant the lotus in 3-5 inches of soil in its final growing place. I recommend planting 1-2 plants per pot. If the stems of Lotus are tangled together, it will easily become black and rotten. Please put the seeds in a sunny place and enjoy planting. About Lotus seeds: This aquatic perennial's tuberous roots colonize the soil at the bottom of earth-bottom ponds, or the soil in containers fully submerged in lined ponds. The stems of the leaves can reach the surface of water that's nearly two feet deep, and then continue upward, above the water, a few inches or even a foot farther. The roots don't tolerate frost, In winter, please plant Bowl Lotus indoors. If lotus can grow in just plain water? Seeds germinate in clear water, and the growth of seeds requires adequate nutrition. If you want to plant Lotus in clear water, you need to provide it with nutrient solution to meet its growth needs. We recommend that you plant the lotus in nutrient-rich pond mud.

I’m happy with my seeds.😁
I waited until I could actually observe the seeds produce results before giving my review. I noticed that lots of people do so prematurely. 🤷🏻♂️They are very good seeds. One of the three I experimented with was a dud, but that’s to be expected with seeds. It was very neat to see them sprout. If you follow the easy directions, you’ll enjoy watching your plants grow.A bad thing that happened to the two that made it after their leaves opened up:I put them in a pot (according to the experienced) and into my turtle pond. Aquatic turtles eat aquatic plants and their roots, so they disappeared just after two days, lol. I’m going to germinate the remaining seeds and maybe wait until they’re a bit bigger than the previous ones before I transplant them and place them in the pond, just in case it was actually my fault and not the turtle’s. 😆 Although I do expect one or two to be eaten up soon after. Turtles need their salad as well.I’ll definitely be buying more seeds in the future! And take pictures to share this time around. 😁

Sprouted easy in micro-swamp!
I am so excited! These seeds really sprouted. I have a mosquito trap of swampy water with Bacillus thuringiensis (Mosquito Bits) in it, to lure mosquitoes to lay their eggs (which will hatch only to have the larvae meet an all-organic death from Bt infection). It works great to keep the mosquito population down, but it gets stinky as methanogenic bacteria build up and emit swamp gas. I though lotus might help. I dumped one package of these seeds in, and now I have 3 lily pads and about 8 total sprouts! It was so great to see the green stem rise up above the muddy water and then open into a green pad! So easy. I just dumped them in and they sprouted like a charm.Update: less than a week after taking that picture, I now have over 15 sprouts and 4 lily pads! I think there will end up being ~100% sprouting of these seeds.

Grows better in clear nutrient filled water!
I have planted them in both of my fish tanks which they did only okay. But the aqua/terrarium planted on my windowsill (clean clear water and nutritious aquatic soil e.g sechems Flourite black in a semi sun lit glass vessel) they are gorgeous. It's too soon to know if the will bloom. I get a new pad every 4-5 days and love watching them unfurl. I think in a pond they would get spectacular. Unfortunately this link doesn't allow a picture...

They do not germinate!!!
The package stated "90% gemination" how about more like "-100%" germination. Not even one seed sprouted and they were bad. They all floated up when I put them in water which means they are no good. Seller please send product that is what the consumer is paying and expecting!!!

About 55% sprout rate. 60% germination.
11 out of 20 have spouted. I followed the instructions with water changes and water temp. I started seperating them when they spouted in to talk vases so they could get light while they continued to grown. I had 1 open but did not grow and 4 turn squishy and puss. 2 shells decayed off but aren't doing much.Seeds seemed prone to fungus infection. 2 I transplanted I had an outbreak of a fuzzy white fungus.I had to keep coming to the this page for instructions.None of the ones I grew inside lived. I tried heated and unheated environment. Outside I had about 5 thrive. They worked well for small backyard pond

Strong sprouts
2022 update. Ok they grew. 9-10 grew. However they die quickly and are not hard. I’m no beginner either. Will try again.I received seed already opened (cutting away of hard exterior shell) and placed into a small glass vase with a large opening. Change water 3-4 times a day with warm water and place on a sunny window ledge. Make sure the seeds do not get fuzzy if they do just gently wash it off. 80% of seeds sprouted in 2-3 days. I did have 2-3 that sprouted about 2-3 days later. I have about 3 that didn’t sprout yet we are on day 7. Make sure as soon as the sprout is about 1/2 inch place into squishy mud/soil. Keep moist at all times. Do NOT place into too much water the sprout will rot before it establishes the root system. Keep them into mud until your first leaf or two has unfolded. Then gently add more water to about 1 inch. Wait until the leaf is above the water line to add all the water you want. I placed gravel on the surface so it didn’t get muddy every time I added water. Don’t place any over the sprouted leaves. I’ll send more pics when they bloom. Putting them into a tiny pot adding some gravel and placing into a large 2 gallon round glass bowl with a beta fish. That’s the plan.Update:The seeds sprouted. But the plants didn’t establish. Ive done this for many of the seeds. 90% sprouted. Even after one year. However the plant does t grow beyond sprouting. Even in aquatic media. I’ll keep trying though.

Great product
This’s first time for me to grow a plant in my whole entire life. So I did lot of research when I just got the seeds. At day 5 I have 19 seeds sprouting. I believe the seller’s product is good enough. But there’s some reviews said it won’t grow. I think maybe it’s about the weather. The lotus loves the Sun and Hot weather. I live in south California I think this’s why the seeds grow so fast. Tips 1 based on my research ppl recommended that we should grow the seeds higher than 60F and lower than 104F . So if the place Where you live still not reach that temperature yet please don’t try it too early. They won’t grow at all. Tips2 if at day3 most of seeds still not sprout you can tear 1/3 of the shell to help them grow.
