I love the Ultra Lounge volumes for their unusual songs. They remind me of the old films with the ladies synchronized swimming in their flowered caps. Fun party music.

The Ultra Lounge Secret
Great way to get a cross section from the entertaining "Ultra Lounge" series featuring cool music for 1950/60`s hipsters . In those days rock and pop was strictly for the kids , and this strange mixture of light jazz and exotica was still the choice of many young adults who wished to be sophisticated . Not surprisingly the rather more potent brew of rock and pop was soon to win them over too , leaving only a few hardliners clinging on to their precious Les Baxter and Enoch Light albums . The only problem with these collections is the inclusion of obvious comedy recordings that you won`t want to hear too often . They should really have had an album to themselves .
