As a seasoned reviewer, I've had the opportunity to test and evaluate a myriad of products. Today, I'm sharing my experience with the EltaMD UV Sport Body Sunscreen, SPF 50 Sport Sunscreen Lotion.As someone with sensitive skin, I've always been cautious about the products I use. I've been using this sunscreen for years and it has never disappointed me. It's been my reliable companion during beach trips and baseball games, providing consistent protection against harmful sun rays. The lotion goes on smoothly, leaving no white marks or greasy residue. It's so lightweight that I often forget I have it on.The EltaMD UV Sport sunscreen is a part of a larger product line, which includes the UV Sheer and UV Shield. The UV Sport is the thickest of the three, making it an ideal choice for summer or heavy workout sessions. Despite its consistency, it doesn't feel heavy on the skin.This sunscreen was recommended to me by my dermatologist for its non-greasy formula and effective sun protection. A small amount goes a long way, making it a cost-effective choice. However, I advise against applying it around the eyes as it may interfere with your eye makeup.While I appreciate the high SPF and fragrance-free formula, I must note that the sunscreen contains zinc oxide, which can leave a white film on the skin. It requires some rubbing to fully blend into the skin, which may not be ideal for those who prefer a quick application.Despite its high price point, I believe the EltaMD UV Sport sunscreen is a worthy investment. It's been a game-changer for my skin, helping fade brown spots and improve my complexion. However, I advise potential buyers to read the ingredients list carefully. The sunscreen contains Octinoxate and Octisalate, which may not be suitable for everyone.As an African American woman, I've struggled to find a sunscreen that doesn't leave a white cast on my skin. The EltaMD UV Sport sunscreen has been a revelation in this regard. It's water-resistant, doesn't sting my eyes, and works well with my other face products.The sunscreen has a chalky feel after application, which may not be to everyone's liking. I ordered this product after doing some research on the Environmental Working Group's online database of the least harmful sunblocks. This product scored extremely well and I was glad to see I could get it on Amazon. The first time I used it, I didn't love it--mostly because, even after you take a shower, you still feel like you have this on you (skin feels a little chalky). However, it has grown on me for a few reasons: 1) like most of the better-for-you sunblocks, it is a physical block, not a chemical one that absorbs into your skin and puts potentially harmful stuff into your bloodstream; 2) most physical blocks literally just sit right on your skin--they turn your skin ghostly white (and as a very pale redhead with freckles, I didn't think ANYTHING could make me whiter) and don't absorb well--this product is far better than most in this regard. It goes on white and kind of dry at first, but it rubs in pretty easily; 3) it has absolutely no smell to it (and I have an uncommonly strong nose and aversion to fragrances and poor-smelling fragrance-free products too); and 4) if you use a loofah sponge or exfoliant in the shower, that chalky, it's-still-on-you feeling goes away; and last but not least 5) it works very well. I have only thus far worn it to the beach and not in athletics/sports situations yet, so not sure how often it has to be re-applied, but it did great on the beach.I also ordered the Elta MD SPF 30 lotion in the pump bottle--this is a great, light lotion for everyday use. I put it on my arms, hands, and chest each morning before my long ride to work in a car with untinted windows. I love that I don't smell like I'm wearing sunblock at work.For face, I am still a big fan of Devita SPF 30 for face--highest rating again on EWG's site, and goes on very rich/creamy. However, I put this Elta MD Sport SPF 50 on my face today before heading out kayaking (which got cancelled so I can't report on how well it worked), and found that, once rubbed in, it didn't make my face appear ghostly or greasy.Overall, I am extremely happy to have found this and the other products I've mentioned.

Excellent product. Dermatologist recommended! Found it more cost effective here than at doctor office.Great coverage and more natural. Love the option to get tinted, also.

I'm a die hard user of sunscreen but as an African American woman most Physical sunscreens give a horrible white cast either alone or in combination with foundation/powder. I've tried 100% chemical sunscreen and find them too greasy or broke me out. My dermatologist recommended EltaMD and I will never use anything else.I like that this sunscreen is SPF 50, that it has no white cast on my darker skin and that it is water-resistant. An added bonus is that there is no stinging if I rub my eyes after application. This is my HOLY GRAIL sunscreen. EltaMD please never discontinue this product or change the formula!I use about a pea size amount which is all you need for your face and neck. I rub it on my face and neck in an upward fashion and within seconds it is absorbed. Initially there is a shine to my face, but that is gone within a minute or so. No white cast at all and it plays nice with my other face products. I don't have any problem layering this with my primer, foundation and/or pressed powder. I apply my sunscreen first, then my primer, them my foundation or powder.I wear sunscreen daily, I never leave the house without it and after talking with others, I wear it when I'm in front of my laptop screen for long periods of time.I hope this review helped you and thanks for reaading!
