ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE SUN JOE SPX3000
I RENT A GAS PRESSURE WASHER EVERY YEAR FOR VARIOUS PROJECTS AROUND THE HOUSE, I HAVE USED GAS PRESSURE WASHERS TO REMOVE CHIPPING PAINT FROM THE CINDER BLOCK FOUNDATION IN PREPARATION TO REPAINT, BUT MOSTLY I USE IT YEARLY TO CLEAN MY CONCRETE WALKWAY, DRIVEWAY AND PATIO. I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN PLEASED WITH THE RESULTS. DUE TO A RECENT INJURY I AM UNABLE TO LIFT HEAVY ITEMS, SO THIS YEAR I DECIDED TO LOOK AT ELECTRIC PRESSURE WASHERS. I DID MY HOMEWORK, I WENT TO HOME DEPOT AND LOWE'S AND I SEARCHED THE INTERNET AND WATCHED YOU TUBE VIDEOS AND READ ALL THE REVIEWS. THE SUN JOE SPX3000 ALWAYS STOOD OUT FROM THE REST IN ALL THE REVIEWS I READ. I ORDERED ONE FROM AMAZON.COM. IT WAS TEMPORARILY OUT OF STOCK, BUT HAD THE BEST PRICE I COULD FIND INCLUDING FREE SHIPPING. ABOUT TWO WEEKS LATER I HAD MY NEW PRESSURE WASHER. IT TOOK ABOUT THIRTY MINUTES TO READ THE INSTRUCTIONS AND INSTALL EIGHT ITEMS: 1. THE HANDLE, (FOUR SCREWS) 2. THE TRIGGER GUN HOLDER, (JUST POPS ON) 3. THE SPRAY WAND PROTECTOR- (ONE SCREW AND A POP IN TAB)-THIS WAS A LITTLE TRICKY, THE TAB DID NOT WANT TO LOCK IN, BUT IT FINALLY DID) 4. THE DETERGENT BOTTLES- (THEY WERE ALREADY IN PLACE BUT NEEDED TO BE "SEATED) 5. THE HOSE HOLDER (SLIDES IN PLACE AND IS HELD ON WITH ONE SCREW) 6. CONNECT ONE END OF THE HIGH PRESSURE HOSE TO TO THE REAR OF THE UNIT AND THE OTHER END TO THE TRIGGER GUN. (ONE END IS MADE FOR THE TRIGGER GUN AND THE OTHER END IS MADE TO CONNECT TO THE UNIT.) 7. ATTACH THE WAND TO THE TRIGGER GUN. 8. ATTACH THE PLASTIC WATER INLET COUPLER TO THE FRONT OF THE UNIT-(THIS IS WHAT MOST PEOPLE COMPLAIN ABOUT WHERE LEAKING OCCURS. MINE LEAKED TOO. I JUST REMOVED IT AND CAREFULLY RE INSTALLED IT MAKING SURE IT WAS NOT CROSS THREADED AND THERE WAS NO MORE LEAKING. IT DID START LEAKING AGAIN AFTER ABOUT AN HOUR OF USAGE. I HAD TO REMOVE THE COUPLER AGAIN, THIS TIME I REMOVED THE SMALL BLACK WASHER OR O-RING AND TURNED IT OVER. I MADE SURE IT WAS SEATED CORRECTLY, THEN RE INSTALLED THE COUPLER. IT HAS NOT LEAKED AGAIN. THE POWER PLUG ON THIS UNIT IS HUGE. IT HAS A BUILT IN GROUND FAULT CIRCUIT INTERRUPTER BUILT IN FOR SAFETY. THE PLUG IS SO LARGE IT WOULD NOT FIT INTO MY OUTDOOR OUTLETS SO I HAD TO USE A SHORT 5 FOOT EXTENSION CORD DESIGNED FOR PORTABLE AIR CONDITIONERS. THIS WORKED FINE. I TESTED THE GROUND FAULT AND IT TOO WORKED FINE. YOU MUST NOT USE A COMMON HOUSE HOLD EXTENSION CORD WITH THIS UNIT. YOU MUST USE THE PROPER GAUGE EXTENSION CORD WITH THIS UNIT IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO BURN UP THE MOTOR. CONSULT THE OWNERS MANUAL FOR THE PROPER EXTENSION CORD. SO NOW I AM READY TO USE MY PRESSURE WASHER: 1. I DOUBLE CHECKED TO MAKE SURE EVERYTHING WAS PUT TOGETHER SECURELY 2. I HOOKED UP MY GARDEN HOSE TO THE FRONT OF THE UNIT (MAKE SURE THE HOSE IS NOT KINKED). I TURNED ON THE WATER FAUCET ALL THE WAY. (THAT IS WHEN I SAW THE FIRST WATER LEAK AND HAD TO RE INSTALL THE COUPLER) . 3. I PLUGGED IN THE POWER CORD (USING MY SHORT A/C EXTENSION CORD) AND MADE SURE IT WOULD NOT GET WET BY HANGING IT UP ON A PLANT HOOK ON MY PATIO. 4. I SNAPPED IN ONE OF THE QUICK CONNECT NOZZLES. (I DID NOT KNOW WHICH ONE WOULD WORK BEST FOR MY APPLICATION) 5. I RELEASED THE SAFETY LOCK ON THE TRIGGER. 6.. I SQUEEZED THE TRIGGER WHICH ALLOWS WATER TO FLOW THROUGH THE SYSTEM. 7. I TURNED ON THE MACHINE. IT WORKS!! I PLAYED AROUND WITH THE DIFFERENT NOZZLES. I WANTED TO CLEAN MY CONCRETE WALK WAY. THE GREEN NOZZLE 25 DEGREES WORKED BEST. I WAS AMAZED AT THE POWER OF THIS LITTLE MACHINE. IT CLEANED MY CONCRETE AS GOOD AS A GAS PRESSURE WASHER. I USED THIS FOR ABOUT FIVE HOURS STRAIGHT. I WAS VERY PLEASED. THE UNIT IS QUIET COMPARED TO A GAS UNIT, BUT I STILL WORE EAR PLUGS TO PROTECT MY HEARING. WHEN YOU RELEASE THE TRIGGER, THE MACHINE SIMPLY CUTS OFF AND THERE IS NO NOISE. OCCASIONALLY THE UNIT WOULD PULSE WITH VERY LOW PRESSURE ON RESTARTING, BUT RELEASING THE TRIGGER AND PRESSING IT AGAIN IMMEDIATELY CORRECTED THE PROBLEM. I DID NOT USE THE DETERGENT BOTTLES, SO NO COMMENT. AS FAR AS LONGEVITY, THAT REMAINS TO BE SEEN. I USUALLY USE A PRESSURE WASHER ONCE A YEAR SO I HOPE TO HAVE MINE FOR A QUITE SOME TIME. SUN JOE WARRANTS THE MACHINE FOR TWO YEARS. BOTTOM LINE. THIS IS A VERY POWERFUL ELECTRIC PRESSURE WASHER AND IS ALMOST AS GOOD AS A GAS UNIT. THIS MACHINE CAN CLEAN CONCRETE WITH EXCELLENT RESULTS, YOU CAN CLEAN VINYL SIDING, WOOD DECKS, PATIO FURNITURE, GAS GRILLS AND MORE. AND YES YOU COULD POSSIBLY DAMAGE SOMETHING IF YOU DO NOT USE CAUTION. I AM VERY PLEASED WITH MY SUN JOE SPX3000 AND HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT FOR THOSE WHO DO NOT WANT TO BE BOTHERED WITH A GAS POWERED PRESSURE MACHINE.

Works good
I just spent a couple hours playing with this washer. I cleaned two cars (water only), sidewalk/driveway, house siding/gutters, and a very moldy outdoor wood railing. I've never had a pressure washer before, so wasn't exactly sure what to expect. I thought it would be a bit more powerful. It's not terribly underpowered, but I thought it would be more. Cleaning cars: This is the main reason I bought the washer for. I had a ton of really baked on bugs on two cars, I thought it would be a good test. I used the 25deg head for this. The first car I soaked with water and let sit for a while to loosen the bugs a bit. From about 12" away I got about 50% of them off, at about 4" away I got another 30% off, and at 1" I got another 15% or so, leaving a very stubborn 5% left which I had to break down and use a textured sponge to remove. Not too bad I guess. This was on the whole front end obviously, windshield, bumper, and hood. I found some tar in a few places and was able to remove the majority of it, but I think a sponge and some solvent would be needed to do a proper job. The second car I manually sprayed on a strong bug remover chemical and let sit for 30sec, then sprayed with the washer. This time I used the 15deg head and I was able to get nearly all of the bugs off with the washer. I just had a few places where I used the sponge. Not bad. I have newer cars and the paint is intact and strong. I might not be so inclined to get so close with older cars/paint. I could see it getting under a chip or bubble in the paint and removing a bunch of it. I've ordered a foam cannon attachment to soap the cars properly, seems like I'll still need to use that sponge quite a bit as the washer doesn't get the fine dirt on the paint, even at close range. I feel a bit neutral about the unit for cars, I was hoping for it to work better. Cement sidewalk/driveway: I live where there is a lot of moisture around and my sidewalks and driveway turn black every year. I was spraying watered down bleach to get rid of it but that is not very environmentally friendly, and some of my plants would die! I didn't really buy the pressure washer for this but since it's a popular thing to use it for I gave it a shot. I used the 15deg head and had to be about 2-4" from the cement to fully clean it. This means cleaning a 2" strip at a time, it takes a while to do a large area! I was very surprised how well it cleaned cement, very nice! I'm more excited to use it for this than washing cars. House siding/gutters/wood railing: My house has an aged latex stain on it. The paint is very easy to remove with pressure, so I had to be careful. I used the 15deg head but really should have had a wider one on. I just moved back 3-4 feet or so when cleaning the siding so as not to damage the paint. I think I'll stick to the joe-max/bleach for this task in the future due to my sensitive paint. My plastic gutters where terribly moldy! I got 2-4" from them and it cleaned pretty well. If I was super anal I could have used a brush to get every last bit, but the washer did a decent job. I have a raw cedar wood railing on my porch which is extremely moldy! I had to get within 1" and use a few passes to clean it fully, but the wood looks new now! Quite amazing Quality: The build quality of the unit seems ok. It feels/sounds kind of cheap. Some of the parts fit loose and it sounds like it's really working hard when in use... reminds me of what a vacuum sounds like when it binds on a rug end or string. My unit seems to have a variable output, at times it backs off the pressure for no apparent reason. Sometimes it doing more of a pulsing type thing and other times it's more continuous. It also acts very funny if you release the trigger and press it again before it has stopped moving... it fails to start back up properly and you have to stop and wait a few seconds then start again. Strange! Leaks: I was careful to check for leaks after reading all the reviews about them. At first there was a slight leak where the hose adapter (for connecting your garden hose) connects to the unit itself, this seems to be common. It's very hard to hand tighten due to the tight space. The screw part also comes to a sudden tight spot so you don't get the feeling it's really going to hold. For my first round of cleaning it was fine being hand tight. However, some side pressure was applied to the garden hose and therefore the adapter it started leaking a lot! I tried to hand tighten again, but it wouldn't be. Now understood the frustration people had. I used some channel locks to get it a little more snug, but it was leaking worse. I've seen this before, the rubber o-ring gets bunched up and fails to seal. The supplied o-ring is not very wide and I suspect it's not sealing the landing surfaces correctly. I put in my own rubber o-ring which was 50% wider than the supplied one and it worked as I had supposed. Pretty simple fix. Quick disconnect. I decided to get one of these to make connecting the garden hose easier. I stumbled upon Gardena connectors. Wow, super cool. They're just plastic but work awesome, highly recommend, they are worth the price. Overall I'm pretty happy with the washer, it's not exactly what I was hoping for, but I can definitely make use of it in a few different ways. I'm happy with the purchase.

Very impressed with the quality, price and performance.
I purchased the SPX3000 last week at a good price of $129 to clean a cedar fence before painting. I had left the fence unfinished in order for the wood to season and dry. As one would expect the year took a toll on the fence with dirt, bird droppings, dirt and mildew. The unit arrived as usual in two days with Prime shipping, double boxed in the usual Amazon container. It was well packaged and very easy to open and assemble. The detergent containers were already in place so it was just a matter of snapping a few pieces together and using 4 screws to put everything in place. My first impression was the materials and connections were good quality. Nothing bothers me more than seeing a piece of plastic instead of metal in a high stress location where you know at some point it is going to fail. I learned from the reviews that Sun (now Snow) Joe has been replacing the plastic hose connector with a metal piece. That is very good news - I wish other companies would follow their lead. Once I had everything together I got to work and was extremely impressed by the machine's performance. At first I was concerned with the 5 wand tips for the various angles/pressure that have to be switched by snapping them on the end of the wand. I thought for sure I'd be losing them. Sun Joe however provides a convenient location for storing them, by snapping them into a post at the top of the unit. They fit securely and are easy to remove. One tip, be sure to snap them in securely to the wand as one time I was at fault and didn't check the fit and it fell off. My fault completely. In order to remove the tips there is a quick release piece that works flawlessly. The unit worked without a hitch for 5-6 hours for 2 days. Easy to pull around, no leaking at the hose connectors, a wand that is light, sturdy and easy to use. The motor is not loud and the pressure is very impressive. You have to be very careful as this is high pressure. At one point on uneven ground I slipped and inadvertently sprayed the fence cutting into the wood. One must be very careful and I hope it goes without saying not to have any children near the unit during operation. I can easily see something like a detached retina happening if sprayed in the face. Safety glasses are a good idea, as in the back of my fence space is limited and I was covered in debris spraying back at me. The 15 degree tip cut right through the very stubborn mildew at the bottom and top of the fence. Very powerful. After the job I cleaned the unit by wiping it off with a small towel and it is resting in the cellar for the next job. Longevity of the unit is important to me so I hope this will last a number of years without problem. A couple of observations. There is a dial to turn on each of the detergent tubs (one at a time). The detergent is not supposed to be coming out of the wand without the soap tip on the wand. I am not sure but a couple of times it looked like it was coming out but it may have been excess soap on the fence. I will need to look more closely on the next job. Also, I wish there was a slightly larger holding piece for the extension cord and brick plug. I will need to see if I can fit it in more securely for storage. All in all, I am very impressed with the quality and performance of this unit. I'll post back if anything changes.

9 years and going strong!
Mine doesn't look the same, it's green and gray. I bought it in 2017 (9 years ago)and it has worked flawlessly ever since. All i do is use it seasonally and put it away drained of water and it has never failed. Perfect for typical household use. Easily assembled and nothing has fallen off yet. It's size is typical for what it is, and easy to maneuver. Grab the handle and roll away. The nozzle angle variety are good, and it's the type of wand with quick disconnects that allow you to add extensions if desired. It truly is one of those items that has stood the test of time.

Well built, well thought out.
Well thought out, solid pressure washer. I've had a few now including DeWalt (gas) and my Karcher (electric) that lasted me 15 years. This SUNJOE SPX3000 is a perfect household pressure washer. My 3300 psi Dewalt was overkill with an insanely loud Honda gas engine. Unlike my last electric pressure washer this one has a nice 25 foot heavy duty power cable as well as a 25 foot pressure washer hose. Pretty solid construction, easy to assemble and with an unbeatable price I would highly recommend this to anyone looking. Something to remember about the gas pressure washers is you can't leave them running, you can't let them sit there and run with the motor idling because it causes the pump to overheat. DeWalt instruction manuals tell you not to let it idle without squeezing the handle for more than two minutes at a time. They do have a relief valve for this reason built-in, if the pump gets too hot from idling too long without water flowing through it it will purge itself until it's cool enough. They are more or less meant to run nonstop full power. You just don't have to worry about that stuff with the electric ones. Especially this one with the auto shut off which they call the total stop system. The electric ones you can wash your car and not have to listen to a gas engine sitting there running the entire time and having to shut it off and restart it with the pull cord on top of wearing earplugs to tolerate the engine noise. We'll see how many years I get out of this one. Would highly recommend. Especially with the two-year warranty.

So good it almost makes the chore fun
I bought a 1650 psi gasoline model over 15 years ago. It was loud (of course), difficult to start, and complicated to deal with. The engine had to run constantly and was directly connected to the pump, so you couldn't stop running water through it for more than a moment. Why? There was a the risk of overheating the pump (the pump was water-cooled). Generally it was a pain in the butt. I haven't needed a pressure washer in years, and my gasoline model won't start. I don't really know why, I'm not able to pull the starter very hard any more, and...well...I just don't want to deal with gas engines any more. Thankfully pressure washers have come a long way in the last decade! Now I didn't know whether to believe the pressure rating on this machine. It's only electrically powered, after all, and my old gas model only made 1650 psi. I'm happy to say that the output of this model is at least equal to my old machine, and most likely significantly greater. I am able to blast dirt, mold, and lichen from further away than expected. In fact, I'm using the second-widest nozzle to clean the bizarre black stuff (that seems to grow all over FL) from my concrete driveway. I have no way of testing the output and no interest in finding out how many gallons per minute it's using. It is very powerful, and that's most consumers need to know. Just be sure to use the recommended size hose for the low pressure water supply (the one from the house faucet). Some pressure washers are provided with an adjustable nozzle. This one provides several easily attachable, quick connect heads. I'm fine with that because they are safely stowed on board the unit in easily accessible and secure points, and changing nozzles takes just a few seconds. I don't know about the longevity of this strategy versus the adjustable type, but I expect they've been adequately tested. I haven't used cleaner yet, so I haven't used the nozzle designed for that. With this much power there's no reason to mix chemicals into the equation. Pure water and electrical power is about as environmentally-friendly as washing sidewalks can get. I love the fact that I can start and stop as often as I need. That was a constant pain with my gas model. It does take a second or two for the unit to ramp up to full pressure each time you pull the trigger, and you should pause a second or two between releasing the trigger and pulling it again. I write that only as information for users, not as a critique. The machine works very well; the delays I mention are not noticeable in actual use. The electric cord is heavy duty and rugged, and protected by its own GFCI (on the large plug) for safety. The high pressure hose is stiff and tough, which is exactly what you need and expect. The hose attachments are secure and I have no leaks. I've read several reviews that complain about leaks and suggest replacing the included parts for metal ones. I don't know if the units have been significantly upgraded since those buyers' units, but I suspect their problems were user error. It's 90% idiot-proof, but there are some high-quality idiots out there! Some people can manage problems with anything (see: all the warning labels on McD's coffee cups!). Unpacking and assembling the unit was dead simple, quick, and easy. Good instructions are even included, which is a bit of a rarity these days. As you can see from the pictures Snow Joe provides on the product page, the base has places to hang your cord, your high-pressure hose, and the wand. There is a large power switch on the front that almost seems superfluous. I guess it's a safety feature required for those special people I mentioned above. The wheels are useful when the unit is disconnected from power and water; when in use it's easier just to lift the whole setup and place it where needed. It's quite light weight and both the electrical cord and high-pressure hose are long enough to allow a lot of work to be done without much repositioning of the unit. I am extremely pleased with this unit. It's relatively quiet, very easy to use, powerful, and convenient! I strongly recommend it!

Power Washer Is Good But BEWARE
I bought this power washer mainly to wash my car, which I do about once a week. I use a foam cannon, and I also like to have the higher pressure for the wheels, etc. I'm sure I'll eventually use it to clean the driveway, garage, a fence, etc but it is mainly for my car. I bought the SPX3000 because it is definitely the best bang for your buck. I've used it about three times now, and it works great. So, why three stars and not five? Well, that's because Sun Joe does not advertise that they are money hungry and want you to use ONLY their products or accessories. In fact, they do quite the opposite, and falsely advertise. You see, the pressurized hose connection on this power washer is the standard M22, but at the same time it's completely different. What Sun Joe has done is make the nipple inside the M22 connection ONE MILLIMETER LARGER, 15mm, than the "standard" size of 14mm, yet on their website, they advertise their connection as "standard". What does this mean for you, as the consumer? It means that you can't use quick connects for different guns or attachments, which is the most basic convenience of a power washer, you can't use any other company's hose, you basically can't change anything because of a 1mm difference. If you want a longer hose, you have to order THEIR 25' extension with THEIR fitting to make it work. If you use a standard hose, it will leak at the machine and at the handle, and if you use standard quick connects, they will not fit. After extensive research, there are only a handful of companies that use the 15mm size, maybe less, and they are mostly (other than Sun Joe and one other company, that I know of) used overseas. WHY WOULD SUN JOE DO THIS!!? Well I know exactly why, they want me to buy their products and their products only, which are very limited and I now refuse to do. I'm going to find a way to avoid that at all cost. You might also like to know that I contacted their customer service about three days ago and have yet to hear anything back. I went to Northern Tool and spent about $50 on quick connects and teflon tape, only to get home and realize that all of it was useless. I also bought another gun to use with the foam cannon and wheels so I don't have to worry about a three foot long wand, which, you guessed it! Will not fit. So, buy an adapter right? Not nearly as common as one might think, in fact, the exact adapter that I need does not exist. I've looked for days and days and finally found a combination of connections that MIGHT work, but I won't know until I spend the money and try it. I find it absurd that wanting to add something as simple as a quick connect, even on the hose that comes with the machine, is nearly impossible. What's more, they don't even offer it as a product in their stupid proprietary size. So, if you want the power washer as is and plan to never change hoses, never have more than the gun it comes with or any attachment that they sell, and stick with screwing it and unscrewing it every time you use it, then go for it. But if you're like me, do your research and find a power washer with TRUE standard connections - M22 x 1.5 thread, with a 14mm nipple. Otherwise, you'll need to order a bunch of parts and fittings just to get to where you would already be with a power washer that has the proper size hose fitting. If I succeed in finding the connections that I need I will update this review, but I will not change the rating. The simple fact that they would do something so stupid just to force me to buy only their products and prevent me from utilizing the HUGE market of power washer accessories in the world is just infuriating. PROS: - Unit works fine out of the box - Sun Joe replaced the plastic garden hose connector with a metal one - Multiple tips - Soap dispenser (haven't tried it, hopefully it works) - Easy assembly - Affordable - Long power cord that feels quality CONS: - Proprietary pressure hose connection is just ridiculous - They should make an M22 (15mm) to 3/8 male quick connect adapter - Does not put out the power that is advertised (other people have tested) but they rarely do - Garden hose in front + pressure hose in back = annoying - Pressure hose is so close to the ground that using the wheels is basically impossible - 20' hose is just too short, can't even wash a car without moving the unit

Great working pressure washer
The Sun Joe unit was the highest PSI/GPM combination I could find. The PSI/GPM combination is more important than just PSI, because the combination of the two is what gives any pressure cleaner the ability to maximize its cleaning effectiveness. As a result, this unit has amazing pressure cleaning capabilities for a portable 120V unit. It was immediately noticeable upon arrival, that this unit was well made. All the parts fit together well and the wand and hose had that quality look and feel. I was happy with my purchase. After using it for the past 2 years, I can honestly say, this is the best portable pressure washer I have ever owned. It has great cleaning ability using any of the 4 different nozzles that came with it. One of the things I like the best about it is the smooth quiet operation. It hums along and isn't overly intrusive from a noise standpoint. This makes it easier to use for long periods of time. I am a happy customer. I actually bought another Sun Joe product (a wood chipper) because I was so happy with the Sun Joe quality in this pressure washer.

Car pressure washer
Works great for washing car with recommended PSI of 1450 is ideal for washing cars with ceramic coating or special finishing. Reason for 4 stars is that the pressure washer gun holder does not have a bottom so it actually touches the ground, not good when you are wheeling the washer around. Would have been great if there was a bottom in the holder and will not touch the ground.

Suitable for light and medium duty work
I bought this pressure washer in May 2020. I usually try to use a product for awhile and wait awhile to rate it. So far I am satisfied with this basic pressure washer. There's no reservoir for detergent which I may have wanted to use on few uses. Overall it has met my needs and for a decent price. TIP: bring your power washer indoors in the cold winter months ! I had another power washer before and it became damaged because I neglected to bring it in from the garage. I was careful and brought this one in each cold season and it performs well.

Good high pressure washer
I bought this in the summer of 2024 and have used it a few times since. I think I have a well-built entry-level/mid-range pressure washer. Yes, it's all plastic, but it's solid, well-assembled, and nothing has any play. The power is perfect for home use, and most importantly, the hose and cord length are good. My only complaint is that it doesn't come with a rotating nozzle; I bought one separately for $15. Not a big deal. Very happy for the price, I recommend it.
