A Step 2 Step into Reading Science Reader about reptiles. PBSโs successful animated show Wild Kratts follows the adventures of zoologists Chris and Martin Kratt as they travel to animal habitats around the globe. Along the way, they encounter incredible creatures while combining science education with fun. Boys and girls ages 4 to 6 can join the Kratt brothers as they activate their Creature Power Suits to creep, crawl, and slither with amazing reptiles! Step 2 Readers use basic vocabulary and short sentences to tell simple stories. For children who recognize familiar words and can sound out new words with help. Review: Great for Beginning Readers Who are Wild About the Wild Kratts ... - My five-year old grandson is obsessed with the Wild Kratts. While he remembers everything he hears on the show and does not hesitate to share his knowledge, learning to read is a different story. He loves being read to, but he does not want to read to us. I had high hopes that โWild Kratts Wild Reptiles: Snakes, Crocodiles, Lizards, and Turtles!โ would help break down his resolve not to let us know his reading level and not to read aloud. The text of this book is interesting and informative. Both the rattlesnake and the crocodile have four pages of text devoted to each particular reptile. The draco and basilisk lizards and gila monster each receive two pages of text. Next, the rock python and gecko are presented; finally, there is a broad overview of the topics turtles and alligators, The print is large and easy to see; there is not so much text that it overwhelms a child reading the book. The illustrations look much like the animation from the โWild Krattsโ television show. โWild Kratts Wild Reptiles: Snakes Crocodiles, Lizards, and Turtles!โ is an excellent book with which to encourage young readers. My grandson has been willing to try reading this book aloud. It features some of his favorite PBS characters; it is short, but not too short; and, Martin and Chris โActivate Creature Powerโ! However, this is not a book meant to provide detailed zoological information and more complete overviews of these reptiles, their habits, and habitats. For the purpose of encouraging reading in those children who are Wild Kratt fans and reluctant to read, โWild Kratts Wild Reptiles: Snakes Crocodiles, Lizards, and Turtles!โ is an outstanding choice. Review: Excellent addition to a library - Who doesnโt like Wild Kratts*? My son has been a fan for a long time and this book fits the bill, as it is both interesting to him and educational. It is a science reader, and because it is Wild Kratts it combines fiction (the power suits) with non-fiction (animal facts). This is a level 2 reader, but it is an advanced level 2 reader. It is an advanced level 2 due to content and length. For example, younger early readers would do better with one of the Paw Patrol level 2 readers first โ which has much simpler language. This reader is longer and has more advanced words like โstructuresโ, โrattlesnakeโ, โpoisonousโ, โsavannahโ, โwarthogsโ and so on. It is also 32 pages of text. It is a challenge for an child that can read some of the simpler readers alone already. This book is best either for an older new reader, or a fan of Wild Kratts. And of course, it can be a read-aloud. It is full of interesting facts for the parents too. They do a good job with the pictures. The cartoons included are exactly like those in the show and there are plenty of illustrations. Excellent to help the children see the animals, make observations and be able to understand the text more fully. In my opinion, this is an excellent book and a great addition to any kid library. *Just in case you do not know who the Will Kratts are here is a little background. This is a show that can be found on PBS about two brothers who investigate animal powers and use the powers to create power suits. They believe wild animals should live free and in the wild. It has excellent content.

Wild for wild kratts
Listen, my kids ( boys and girl) love all things Kratts brothers! To be able to watch my kids dig into these books warms my heart because I remember the original kratts brothers. My kids watch the show and they are still into these books even after theyโve seen the episodes! These are great so science(homeschool), too!

Good Read
My son is learning how to read, and this book came in very handy. We both enjoy watching the show, so having one of the books was spot on. It's an easy read, with a few challenging words for learning, and it's educational. Gotta love that.

it's more fun than info-filled
boys enjoyed it (the love the Wild Kratts), but there wasn't much information in it. So, it's much more for fun and enjoying the characters and animals than it is about learning anything new.

Go wild with the Kratts
My 5 y.o. is crazy about the Kratt Brothers and loved this book. The information is not new (for somebody on a solid diet of the Wild Kratts shows) but books are books. I tried to create art and story-telling activities using the book.

Interessante
E' in inglese quindi aiuta a praticare la lingua. Alla fine ha delle cartoline con i vari animali e delle brevi descizioni.
