Picked this up because I was interested in trying sculpting wax. The name seems like kind of a misnomer - it's very similar to my American Crew forming cream I've used for years, except a little thicker in consistency.That being said, it works great. It has a strong hold and was able to keep my (somewhat) long hair at bay. Functionally speaking, it's excellent - I don't have much to say about it in that regard, it works as you would hope hair gel would work. I also like the way it smells; it's not too strong, but definitely has a hint of something in it. I'm assuming that scent is the juniper essential oils. I don't know how to describe it, but it's thankfully not overbearing and is very subtle. It's more on the manly side too, for some reason it just reminds me of camping or smokiness.For what it's worth, it also comes in a cool little half-glass tub. It doesn't affect the product in any way, it's just different than the standard plastic cup you see most similar products in.Overall - I like it. It has enough to last me for a long time. It works well and smells good, can't ask for much more when it comes to your hair product.

I love the scent of this The Art of Shaving Sculpting Wax, Juniper Essential Oil, but found it too heavy/oily looking on my hair.Although this is called a wax, it's much softer than I think of when I think of a hair wax. It's almost a gel. You need to be careful not to apply too much. A tiny bit goes a long way. It's shiny after it dries and does not provide firm hold. Instead, it's more of a slicker. I have long hair that is frizzy with an oily scalp. On humid days, when my hair would normally be a frizzed out mess, I like to pull it back into a sleek bun and I was hoping this would keep it sleeker but it is just to heavy and oily looking and feeling for my tastes.I do love the scent. It's the scent of fresh junipers but not too overpowering.

So far, everything we've ordered from Art of Shaving has been good quality. This stuff is pretty easy to use, and I'm able to get some nice looks out of it. Basically after I towel my hair off, but it's still damp, I work some in and then just style it as needed. Pretty good hold, nice shine to it. I guess the smell is hit or miss for some people, but I'm cool with it. So it's a good product overall. I'd recommend it.

Very fresh.How To Use:Emulsify in hands before applying to avoid any clumping.Hold:Not stiff or strong, but slows for some hold while allowing movement on longer styles.Need to use a little or a lot:A little goes a long way.Compares to other similar products:This is great if you want some hold and texture without feeling like you have product in your hair.You like it? --I do! It’s my go-to for minimal hold, but to be able to still create texture/movement.CONS: None! Great product.

I have to admit that I was disappointed by this product. I was aware of “The Art of Shaving” products and expected this to be superior stuff. First off, I was disappointed that this didn’t come in a nice hefty glass jar, but instead it’s a plastic one. It feels cheap, and at this price point, that’s a turn-off.Now, to the product itself. It’s a bit hard to apply as it’s quite sticky. I found it hard to get it to all the hair I wanted it to get to without using too much (and yes, I have a “men’s haircut” so I’m not talking about applying it to long hair). But, I persevered and used this a few times as I like its clean forest-like smell. However, I found it really just made my hair look like I needed to wash it and the hold was quite poor.This sounds like an awful review but the thing is, I LOVE the smell of this product, and I wish it worked really well! It’s not bad. Gave my hair a bit of spiky look and worked okay for combing it down (which I think might be its best use). The smell really is wonderful; clean and natural. Not strong. I wish all hair products smelled this good!

I'm a woman who uses the Art of Shaving products because I love the scent. I can see why others don't like it, but I love the spicy juniper scent and don't tend to like the more dainty scents that most products for women have. I have thick wavy hair that tends to get frizzy in the humid climate where I live (FL). This product is perfect for me. It gives me some control and calms the frizzies without looking slick or sticky. I love it.

The Art of Shaving is my go to brand when I need to get my husband a gift. They make quality products that are gentle for the skin, does not cause my husband to breakout, and they all smell great. This has juniper essential oil, which is a woody, crisp, and sweet scent. My husband liked this- it has a good hold with a shine. I notice right away when he uses an Art of Shaving product... there is a rich, manly scent that I love...
