Highly recommend! Good price and does the job well!
The best translucent setting powder! I am not a make up pro by any means-- but this is great to set my concealer and my entire face after using bronzer/blush/highlighter! Have bought this multiple times. Great quality and price.

Nice dry shampoo
Please don’t judge me but I use this for dry shampoo on day 2 since it’s hard to find unscented dry shampoo that don’t charge and arm and a leg for (I’m very sensitive to strong smell, and I also use perfumes daily too so I don’t want something that will spoil the experience of having nice perfumes on me). I have a little dabber thing that I saved from a previous dry shampoo packaging that I use with this. Work so well together and make my hair looks fresh! Not sure how it works as a face powder though, but I imagine from how well it turns my oily fringe into fresh fringe and stay that well even through day 3 that this is just as good on the face as it is on my hair.

The finish is beautiful.
I discovered this powder on YouTube when it was compared to Make Up Forever's HD powder. The makeup guru in the video recommended the ELF powder over the MUF and I heartily agree. The MUF powder is $35 or so whereas the ELF brand contains the same amount of product and costs $6!!. In my opinion, both products perform the exact same way. I like the fact that the ELF powder is sheer and adds no color to my base makeup. It blends in seamlessly and helps my makeup last all day. The ELF product contains powdered silicone and silica and causes no irritation to my sensitive skin. I use an oil control toner, a matte sunscreen and a mattifying primer, which helps to control shine. The ELF powder sets my makeup beautifully, providing a soft focus finish that looks really natural. I only wish that it came in a pressed form, which would be more handy for touch ups. I used to use Urban Decay's Naked loose powder, which is $34 and contains even less product than the MUF. The UD powder is tinted however. And while I still use it occasionally, I recently purchased two ELF HD powders on Amazon because I am truly impressed with the product. And like I've said, there's a lot of product in the ELF container, which makes it doubly economical. I would swear that the MUF and ELF powders have exactly the same ingredients. Both leave my face soft and smooth. I use the ELF powder over Armani Luminous foundation or Bare Minerals Bare Skin and it provides a flawless finish. Tinted powder changes the color of my base makeup somewhat, which I don't always want. I only use the remaining UD powder when I'm going out at night (I have to use it up, it was expensive!). I also use the ELF setting spray, which I like a lot. Like it promises, the ELF powder doesn't sink into fine lines. It isn't quite a matte finish, however. But with the other products I use, it seems to help control most of the oiliness that breaks through by the end of the day. I can always use blotting papers if necessary. I keep some of the powder in my makeup bag for touch ups. I also like the ELF lip exfoiliator, which works really well and contains sugar granules. I purchased the ELF powder on Amazon because my local Target was out of stock. Thankfully, the Amazon Prime price was the same as Target with free shipping too. On the ELF website, they charge $6 or $7 for shipping unless you spend more than $25 (and I didn't need anything else) so Amazon had the best price. All in all, I really like this product and like the makeup guru whose review I saw, I heartily recommend it.

Perfect Powder!
This powder is AMAZING. Performs like a high-end powder without all the $$$. It is so silky smooth and lightweight, and keeps the oil on my face to a minimum and makes my makeup LAST. It’s also acne safe, with no talc in it (my skin breaks out if I use anything with talc). However, I’m only giving this 4 stars because if you put on just a little too much, the flashback is a tad bit crazy. What I do is take a damp sponge, dip it into the powder, then tap it on the back of my wrist to get any excess powder off. GET THIS POWDER ASAP!!

Great product, HORRIBLE packaging.
Let me get my one gripe out of the way first. The packaging is horrible. Turning the cap causes product to pour everywhere and billow into the air. Powder gets stuck on the corner edges of the package and there's no stopping it from going EVERYWHERE whenever you put on the lid or take it off. Therefore, I have transferred mine to a baggy with a corner trimmed off one side (very tiny hole). I pour a little out on the back of my hand or in a bowl when I need it, and I keep the corner twisted and taped closed when I'm not using it. It successfully stops the product from billowing into the air and getting all over the place, but white powder in a plastic baggy does look a little sketchy. The powder goes on beautifully over foundation, cream blusher, highligher, cream contour, even eyeshadow. It is translucent. It absorbs oil and is soft to the touch when over foundation. If applied over still wet foundation, it is possible to apply too much, which can make you look washed out. It's setting powder, not powder foundation. It's a fabulous dupe for high end setting powders, and for a very reasonable price. Will repurchase.

Natural soft matte finish, not too much shine!
This product comes in a huge box and was pretty cheap, compared to similar products that Ive used. Its silica based, but I didnt have any reaction to it. There's no shade selection, and it comes in a huge box, that twists off, and has a soft puff .. not foam or spongy, and you have a sifter underneath, Its a very smooth fine powder, almost silky smooth because its so fine. Just don't sneeze near it because it's so fine and it will go everywhere! The powder is really lightweight and works better as a finishing powder, after you already apply foundation, bronzer, and blush. Then, just layer the ELF High Def Powder on top, all over. But it doesnt look ashy or even like I have powder on. I even took some selfies and it doesnt show up as super white or powdery. It gives the face a very natural soft matte finish.. not shimmery or shiny, more like a soft focus glow. Its really good after initial makeup application, then you get a soft look, and pore minimizing - (I cant even see them), and shine reducing Its a very blended smooth look, very natural, and good for a photo shoot or big event. i would do those when fresh, you might want to reapply during a long day, but right out its great! I really like it because I dont want shine all over my face, or to be loaded down with glitter and too much glow. i would definitely buy it again, you dont need a lot to get the job done, i use a fluffy brush to put it on rather than the puff, but i like it better that way to get it all over and smooth it out.

Not bad for the price; depends on what you what your result to be
I considered all of the reviews before purchasing this powder because the powder I was using from BareMinerals was finished and I was looking for something else without paying $25. This powder is like no other powder I have ever used, and I do traditionally use a translucent powder for a finishing powder because I don't want to add color to my foundation because that look is just too plastic for me. This powder is definitely "translucent", but not as I expected, hence the 3 stars. I agree with others who have said you definitely need a fluffy brush - I would say it is an absolute must (I have a great one made by "Flower", which I think is a line by Drew Barrymore, actually). I can see if you try to use the little powder puff that comes with the e.l.f. powder, you will end up with a white face because you don't need much of this powder at all. I was also VERY glad I save my container from my previous powder given this powder is one of the finest powders I have ever seen, and tilting it to the side can release a tremendous amount of product and cause a ton of it to go into the air or all over your side table or sink. Oddly enough, I feel like this powder makes my face a little oily and does nothing to absorb any oil, but perhaps that isn't its job - after all, it is extremely fine. However, I can't say I have ever seen this with other finishing powders that aren't meant to absorb oil either. Again, I guess that's just my skin and I don't recall reading this from other reviewers. Sigh. At first I was frustrated with this powder and wasn't even sure what it's purpose was supposed to be, so I purchased Almay Smart Shade Finishing Powder, albeit for a different purpose (to attempt to make my self-tanner less sticky a half hour after application!). I tried the Almay on my face and it was beautiful, so I think I will be purchasing Almay the next time, even though I haven't checked to see if they have a translucent one. (I paid $14 in Walmart for the Almay, and it's $8-$10 here.) I also feel like the e.l.f powder settles into the fine lines under my eyes, and nobody likes that! (I didn't see that the Almay did this and actually had some skin perfecting ability (shocking!), and this was the first time I have ever bought an Almay finishing powder.) I mention all of this because the great Amazon family always provides me with so much information that if something didn't work out like anticipated, many reviewers provide ideas and products that did and why. I have learned a lot this way - just by reading reviews. Overall, I suppose this powder does provide a little bit of illumination to the face, but there are other products that are truly meant for that, like the e.l.f. baked pearls, which I also read about on Amazon, saw it in Target and fell in love with the product. I suppose for the price, perhaps the product isn't that bad, but maybe it all depends on what you are looking for, and what you want your end result to look like. I hope this review helps someone!

I loved and would recommend this item
I would consider myself an average makeup user, and I like to experiment with new products. This purchase is perfect for someone who applies liquid foundation. I would recommend this item for easy application, blends nicely, and long lasting wear. The e.l.f. Studio high definition powder is best suited for applying after all of your liquid cosmetics. When I apply with other powder foundation the color lightens to a shade that no longer matches my skin tone. However, when applied after liquid makeup it sets for all day wear. I would recommend the translucent shade, because the white color fades away. However, if used with mineral powder the translucent powder may change the color by mixing pigments and tinted to a lighter shade than your own. Although, used with liquid powder it lasts all day, and very minimal touch ups are needed. This item is great with humidity, since the powder soaks up sweat and doesn’t allow the liquid to run. However, if you know you sweat often, you may need to reapply more often than. The brush will pick up some of the liquid foundation and turn it a orangish shade. This can be fixed by opting for a brush to apply the translucent powder. It leaves a radiating glow and not an oily shine. The powder blends away my forehead lines, which masks away my flaws. This purchase would be great for any age, and would beautify any imperfections and leave it radiant. It is great for fading out wrinkles, which works well for reducing the look of aging. The powder radiates and reduces redness as well, which would be a benefit for acne prone skin. I have dry and combination skin, so I use liquid products to smooth out the dry creases. However, someone with oily skin could easily use it daily as is. It is great for shine reducing and giving a radiate, but matte finish. The powder would be great to use for combination, oily, and dry skin. Since I need moisture everyday, this item would be great for daily use. As it is so small it is easy to throw in my bag and take it traveling or on the go. If you have only a few daily makeup items, you should make this one of them. I would buy this product again and recommend to everyone.

Worth the buy if you want matt make up that looks great in photos.
Lovely powder for any skin tone, it needs to warm up on your face in order for it to not look so pasty, so give it a while after you put it on top of your foundation etc. the best thing about this powder is that it gives you a matt look that looks great in photos. The down side is the powder puff they put in packaging, now body uses powder puffs. I took of the plastic protecting sticker that covers the little holes, then I put my giant kabuki make up brush on top, turned it upside down then back round. I end up with a little bit of the HD powder on my kabuki brush which I then apply in circular motions to my face. This powder is good for setting make up but cannot be used to alter the colour of your make up, eg: tone down, lighten or darken etc.

Great buy, super for mattifying and baking
This HD powder is simply great. Quality is amazing and I think it is A Laura Mercier translucent powder dupe. Mattifies and bakes without living any cakyness on the face. Makes the undereye area really really bright. A great buy.
