This FRAM oil filter is cheap but works perfectly. Fits like it should, and installation was a breeze. Does the job well, definitely recommend!

Oil looks like new after 1,800 miles. Twice as much $$$ as regular entry level Extra Guard thou. I change oil every 2-3k or every 6 months because I don't drive much so the entry level Extra Guard I've used for more than a decade may be better for my application. If you drive 15k+ per year, use synthetic oil, and want to stick to the auto manufacturer recommendations of 5k per change this is a great option. Don't buy into any manufacturers 10,000 mile oil change recomendation. Never go over 5,000 IMHO, see the Toyota master mechanics on youtube for why. My 2004 Corolla engine looks like new inside and doesn't lose or burn a drop of oil after 110,000 miles. with changes every 2,500-3,000 miles. These are now over $13 as of 9-21-24. I would definitely buy the Extra Guard filter for $4.14 in my case and use fully synthetic oil, that's what's making the difference in performance anyway..... **** Update 9-22-24 I pointed out that big chain from Arkansas still sells them for $8.97 and the next day magically the price went back down to $8.97! hmmmmm ******* Update 12-16-24 Now they are just gone, so are the tough guard! What's up? People stocking up ahead of the tarriffs? I mean taxes? 4-30-25 They are back at $8.97..... stock up now.

I've been using these for awhile, and so far, I haven't noticed any issues. The price is good. Fram claims it can go 20K miles, but I don't really trust that, nor running most, even synthetic oils for that long (maybe could with Renewable Lubricant's best oils, but not your average synthetic). What I've been doing so far, is doing 5K oil changes, and every 15K (so 3rd cycle) also changing the filter. I figure 3 cycles of 5K oil is probably equivalent for the filter of going like 10K or so with using the same oil the whole time. However, I've been wondering if maybe I should switch to changing the filter ever 10K miles i.e. 2 cycles of new oil. They are cheap enough that if it makes a difference in the long run, than it's worth it. But I think it would be downright silly to change both the filter and oil every 5K when using a good quality synthetic and a 20K rated filter. It makes the oil change faster and less messy when you don't change the oil. And yes, I do compensate for amount depending on whether I change the filter or not. A bit less when not changing the filter, and then the full recommended amount when changing the filter. Both my spouse's car and my car use the same filter model so that is convenient. Maybe Project Farm will do some testing with these; that would be cool. I'd like to see how they stack up against more expensive models.

Fit perfect on a 2020 Toyota Camry 4 cylinder. These are quality filters that filter down to 20 microns. Can't beat them, they don't leak, fit and function, and are the best value of the high end filters.
