I've been using this brand for pretty much all my projects and I love it. Goes on smoothly, strength of colour can be adapted to my needs by adding water. Can be sanded back for a more vintage/used look. Never had a problem with durability once it's varnished. Well worth the money.

Decent product, good value for money, good finish, seems to be water resistant.

I needed to replace some damaged moulding on a 1930s clock. The clock is a very dark colour, the replacement wooden trim was very pale softwood. I was pleased to see that this product was available in a wide range of shades, and the chart on Amazon looked as though the English Oak colour was nearest. I applied two coats of the stain, and the colour now matches the clock very well. I just need to wax it to get the correct level of shine, so I'm very pleased with the result. Using the product was easy and pleasant. The wood stain comes with thorough instructions (a separate A4 sheet is provided, rather than having to squint at tiny print on the bottle!). There is no noticeable smell from the stain, which is great if you are using it indoors. It is easy to clean from the brush with cold water - it just rinses out. The texture of the product is like water, so do use newspaper or similar to protect your surface and absorb drips. I'm a very neat worker, but this product did drip a lot! The product dries quickly (it was dry in under an hour indoors on a cool day). It dries completely matt, ready for you to finish as you wish. Having stunk the house out last week with a solvent based polish, it was lovely to work with something that got the desired result with no smell!

Lovely colour ; easy to use; not much smell Would buy again

I bought a couple of stains for some panelling as I wanted something dark and rustic looking but wasn’t sure which shade to go for. The English Oak was the perfect shade for me and was super easy to apply and quick to dry. It was my first time staining wood and a really positive experience.

Have just used this to stain some wood beams up in our recently converted loft. When I started applying the statin I must say I was excited because it was giving off a dark rich look which also brought out the grain in the wood. Then it started drying..it wasn't what I wanted at all. It got lighter and papery. Now looks cheap and almost sandy. They say you have to add extra products to achieve the rich look but I thought this stain would do it all? I don't think I will be using a water based stain again :/

This product is really nice and gives wonderful old furniture look, I was blown away. Follow the instructions, clean the surface nicely, fine sand it, then apply with a brush. As this is a water based paint, I think it has to be sealed with Varnish or other products, I tried wood lacquer, never get smoothness I wanted. Just used normal Varnish, it worked like a charm. Its also value for money as it spreads nicely covering lot of surface. I highly recommend this product.

Don’t know what’s wrong but this turned out terrible on my wooden shelf.

Great product, happy I got it from this brand. It will dry quick and gives good paint. And it is non-toxic + no smell
