Professional 72-inch Tripod for All Canon Sony, Nikon, Samsung, Panasonic, Olympus, Fuji, Cameras and Camcorders Review: Best value in a tripod I have ever seen - If you shoot professionally for a living, you probably can afford something much more expensive than this very inexpensive tripod. if you're an amateur or enthusiast photographer on the other hand, and you spent a bunch of money on lenses and you want to save money on a tripod, this might be just what you're looking for. Although it certainly cannot remotely compete with high-end $600 carbon fiber tripods, for the money it's certainly a great deal, and works well. It's relatively stable, can hold the camera in either portrait or landscape mode, and has all the usual pivots in various axes. I'm not sure I'd trust the top release plate with a really heavy camera in a portrait orientation with a great big telephoto on the front of it (not 100% convinced that you wouldn't be putting your camera at dire risk) but aside from that limitation, it's a very good tripod - and it does handle my camera safely in portrait orientation with a medium sized telephoto without making me unduly anxious about losing my camera off the mount. If you are working with a big telephoto, would definitely use a lens collar. Pros: 1) 72 inches tall for a professional height (means you don't have to be stooping over to look at anything) 2) full rotation in standard three axes 3) comes with a nice (albeit cheap) case 4) relatively lightweight 5) reasonable stability for a lightweight tripod 6) decent level detection (don't need that with my camera however) 7) cheap - really cheap Cons: 1) quick release plate might not hold heaviest cameras in portrait orientation with big heavy lens 2) probably doesn't have the greatest stability relative to an hi-end professional tripod 3) rotation in vertical axis is perhaps a little bit stiff and not as smooth as more expensive tripods Review: Great Tripod for the Casual Photographer - As an entry level photographer who just recently purchased a DSLR camera, I began shopping for some of the basic camera accessories, but didn't want to devote too much money toward this newly discovered hobby. I was happy to find this tripod as it is both well made, lightweight, and cost effective. The Aluminum legs of the tripod provide solid and stable footing while the camera mounting area is very adaptable in terms of range of movement. The mounting piece that attaches to the camera screws onto the camera body and simply clicks into place on the tripod. I was impressed by how easily I could take the camera on and off the tripod by flipping a lever, while having no worries in regards to the cameras security while mounted. The Stand includes an air bubble based level that helps to ensure its level and stable, while another nice feature of this product was the bag that comes with it, allowing for easy carrying and storage. My only complaint about this product is that the very top part which allows the camera to move vertically within the range of about a foot is a bit tough to raise and lower (there is a lever you have to crank)and while at the maximum up position, it seems to be a bit flimsy. Overall though, this is a great product.

Good product, might not be new
SUITABILITY - Intended use is for iPhone and small digital cameras, appears suitable for intended use. TRUTH IN ADVERTISING - Product included 67 inch tripod, carrying case, and cleaning cloth. Tripod and box marked with brand name Digital, not Zeikos, but brand was not an advertised item. All tripod features as advertised. However, dent in center column and slight scuff marks on shoulder of leg (the one with the level bubble) suggest this may not be a New tripod, and the thin nylon case material, while acceptable for a freebie, is not one I associate with a deluxe case. ATTRIBUTES AND APPEARANCE - Tripod design is well thought out, all features operate smoothly. Appearance is good, with the exception of the dent and slight scuffs; however, the dent doesn't seem to affect function, so for the price and given the Seller's return policy, I'll live with it. RELIABILITY, DURABILITY, MAINTAINABILITY - Initial setup and check-out was intuitive and smooth. Too early to tell for sure, but center column dent, and light weight and slight leg flex, give some indication that moderate care may be required during transportation and handling. SUPERIOR FEATURES AND FUNCTIONS - Product price, even with seller's shipping cost, makes for good value. I like the handle and foam grips, even with the light weight of the tripod (a little more than three pounds). I also like the ease of operation of the leg leverlocks. Cleaning cloth seems slightly larger than normal.

Amazing Product
If you are going to purchase a tripod this is the one to buy! PROS: Great price for quality of tripod. It is extremely transportable and convenient. It is very user friendly and doesn't take much effort or time to set it up at all. Solid, sturdy, and lightweight. (A hard combination to come by) Works with almost every camera out there, with an easy interchangeable system to switch out various cameras fast. CONS: One plastic lever that adjusts height feels like its made of cheap plastic and could break if not treated properly (this is a small concern, and Cons are hard to come by with this product) Others have complaints in reviews about "cheap," "missing parts," "broke," & "not professional". Disregard such comments. With this product you get much more than what you pay for and if you treat your equipment with respect you won't have any of these mentioned problems.

Good buy for the price. Quality control and a couple design flaws make the difference from a pro tripod. Hobbyist to semi-pro.
The biggest problem with my order was that the QR (Quick Release) screw was not made right, making the whole tripod useless. Automatic 1 star. Amazon acted in place of ButterflyPhoto and refunded me the cost of a replacement screw I found on amazon. The screw's threads were FLAT, and crooked besides. If it won't screw in cleanly, DO NOT FORCE IT. You WILL ruin the threads in your camera. The excellent customer service raised it 3 stars, but the extra hassle knocked another one off. I had to cancel a photoshoot for it, not necessarily the seller's fault, but if they can manufacture telescopic legs, they can mass produce screws and the frustration should not be included in the cost. Also, for those of you who did not get the cloth, open both ends of the box. It sits under the top flap. Clever idea, as it would get mashed against the tripod in shipping. Pros: *Low cost *Has tilt and rack-and-pinion crank height adjustment functions like expensive tripods do *72" max height *Carrying case included *Looks nice *Pretty stable and sturdy. Especially with the weight hook on the bottom *Lightweight. The whole thing is made of aluminum and plastic. Aside from the center rack and perhaps some pins, which are steel. It weighs almost nothing. Great for hiking. Cons: *While sturdy, and with all tripods, the more you extend the base, rack, and legs, the more wobbly it becomes. It has a hook on the bottom you can hang a sandbag from to keep it from tipping as easily, but it's wobbly and I'm not sure how far I trust it. I suggest, for most stability, that you extend each segment no more than half way, and add segments until you get the height you want. That keeps the pipes sturdy with more in contact that extending one segment all the way and trusting the end of it to take all the weight. *The rack (the straight, gear tooth looking metal bar) that sits inside the center pipe (which is aluminum, if anyone is curious) isn't very well secured. When you turn the crank, it raises smoothly, but it rattles a little in the pipe. The crank itself isn't very trustworthy. If you were to loosen the screw that holds it secure, and it had a heavy camera setup (I use this loosely), gravity will snag it and the crank will fly in circles until it's collapsed. Be careful and always have your hand on the crank when you loosen it and you will be fine. *Close inspection, the plastic parts look cheap *As stated at the top, the QR screw was complete trash. Crooked thread of the wrong shape. Tripod is worthless without the screw to attach the camera, unless you got creative with duct tape perhaps. Amazon may refund you the cost of a new screw. *The tilt function is nice to have, and is sturdier than what one reviewer wrote, but my camera isn't too heavy. However, the locking teeth (an unexpected feature to see on a tripod of this price!) are not quite as sharp or clean as they could be, but do function. Just, as with all screws on this tripod, make sure to hold onto the camera while loosening and tightening, and make sure it's tight before you take your hand off it. *The handle doesn't stick out far enough. I can't even imagine Chinese hands fitting comfortably in the space it gives you. You can hold it by the handle, if you have small or medium hands, but it might just be easier to grab it by the foam leg grips, or attach a carabiner to the holes in the handle and hang it. It comes with a case, so ideally, just use that. As stated, it's cheap, but it's not THAT cheap.

No good with DSLR'S, after extensive testing
When I first received it, I was using a small point and shoot camera, and had very little experience as a photographer. So I thought the tripod was a good product. Today, i realize what a bad product it actually is. It is not to be used with DSLR'S with a heavy lens (200MM). The top part keeps that adjusts the tilt of the camera keeps falling down and is very difficult to adjust. The worse part is if you lengthen the top rod (the one that has a lever to adjust it up and down), your camera will vibrate when taking the shot. If that rod is extended, and you release your finger from the shutter button the tripod will continue to vibrate for 5 seconds. I have to use a long 12s delay on my shots to get over this problem. When you adjust the tilt of the camera with the front handle the whole camera JOLTS up or down. This is far from a good tripod, and if your pics come out blurry, this may well be the cause. UPDATE 03/23/2015 After 15 days of hell trying to figure out why manual mode kept giving me blurry pictures with a Nikon D3300 and a 55-200 AFS lens, as well as continuous phone support with Nikon trying to trouble shoot the issue of blurry pictures, I have finally found the culprit. It's THIS TRIPOD. Nikon lenses have a VR mode (vibration reduction) mode which helps to diminish vibrations caused by hand movement etc. I was using this mode with the Nikon Autofocus mode. Luckily the VR was helping me to get relatively sharp pictures despite the vibrations caused by the tripod. In manual mode however, the VR is turned off, and all pictures end up blurry. This is caused by releasing the shutter button, and this tripod vibrates for many seconds after that and causes the camera to take blurry pictures (even with a 5 second delay). This tripod when extended up to 64" and above continues to vibrate as soon as it is touched. It is a horrible piece of equipment and should not be purchased by anyone. I have returned 2 lenses to Nikon, and spent numerous days trying to solve the problem, and it turns out it's this tripod that caused all the misery.

Great Buy!!
I read allot of reviews before I buy camera equipment, or anything else for that matter, so I am doing the same for you as others have done for me. I like to pass on info when I think it will help someone. Anyway, I had to get another tripod for general use so I researched and ended up buying this unit. I can tell you from one with 45yrs experiance that this is well worth the money. It is stable, light weight and solid. I ordered it for several reasons, but the three things (besides the value) I like most are these: First it is 67" tall. This is good for tall people, and us not so tall people. Why? Because shooting things in the sky, or objects that are high up, you don't have to stupe down to make setting ajustments! (smart guy) Second, With a shot of siicon spray,(not that it needs it) this tripod pans very smooth. Third, (and allot of people don't know this) there is a hook on the underside that has two great uses. First, you can get an old corkscrew or any thing you want to use and put it in the ground where you set up, and simply attach a "bungicord" between the hook and whatever you put in the ground and your tripod and camera is more stable in high winds. Secondly, there are two levels on this unit and when you are shooting off of a benchmark (like a survey stake) you can hang a plum bulb on the hook and get the center of your location. Not many tripods have that. I was very happy when it arived, and I am still happy today. This is a great buy, believe me!! Pass some good info on, there are to many of the other kind of people in the world! Your welcome!!

So much potential--so much disappointment
Bottom Line Up Front: Would only use indoors due to poor quality. From the description, this is an amazing tripod. Unfortunately, the quality is not the best. Here's a quick run-down of what is good, bad and ugly. Good: It is 72 inches and can hold your camera weight without the head starting to tilt. It held my Canon T1i with a 75-300 lens in both horizontal and vertical positions. The two levels are very convenient and are spot on. Legs easily extend and the feet enable it to be place on an uneven surface. For a 72 inch tripod, it is very light and easy to carry. The carrying bag is adequate and the lens cleaning cloth is a nice touch. Bad: The arm for the panhead is too long. I still like to use the actual viewfinder to take pictures. The arm is over 7 inches, so you have to stand off on the side to look through the viewfinder or adjust dials. This may work for a video recorder, but it's not good for most cameras. Most of the components are made of cheap plastic (more about that later). Ugly: Defective/broken when it arrived. Several loose parts in the box. Once I figure out what went where, most would not stay in place. The adjustable crank to raise and lower the panhead continues to fall out. I can just see it ending up on the side of a trail. But then, I would never take this tripod outside. I don't think this tripod is very sturdy. Almost everything that is adjustable just uses metal screws that tighten onto the plastic components. I foresee lots of problems; especially if it's cold outside or if you are taking it on hikes. The foam on the top legs was not evenly installed and the Zeikos name is nowhere to be found. If all you need is an indoor or very light outdoor use tripod (assuming it isn't defective when it arrives), then this tripod will fit your needs. If your wondering, I returned the defective tripod and am looking at others now.

Great for filming my YouTube stuff
Got my item over a week ago and I got a chnace to use it a few times so far. It works very well! I'm able to film my videos with ease, and its light enough to move around to get the right angle. I recommend getting this for easy filming especially if you don't want to upgrade to something more expensive. This is perfect. So check out my YouTube channel to see me put this bad boy in action on my next video! SammySweets
