These make our backstage/tech booth communication so much easier
Our theatre has the Cobra Microtalk radios but all we have had to use were the Radio Shack brand earbuds. They were horrible to use because we had to keep unplugging/plugging them into the radios to hear anyone and you couldn't push them in all the way. The cobra earbuds work so much better with the cobra radios. I don't care how long they last, if they get me through a single year of shows, I will be happy.

Good quality two way radio option.
Good option if you are in a noisy area. Bought it because we use it most often when travelling with friends and the road noise would interfere. Works well. Voice volume could be a bit better.

Great Product
Sorry the the late review, but wanted to actually use the product on one of our Miata road rally's. The compact mic worked like a dream while running through the Rockies. My co-pilot was able to communicate with the other cars in the rallies we did without any problems and the other drives could her us fine even with the top down.I would recommend these earbud microphone!

This equipment did not worked with handheld Cobra unit as it said on line,I am still trying to get my money back and return units,it is unbelievable for seller to ask me cut equipment so it will work on device, here is their customer service responce. Please help me to get my refund thank you .Dear Matt,The pin hole on the radio is a little longer than the pin on the mic. You would have to shave some of the coating of the ear bud in order for it to fit down in the jack to make connection. Other than that, we only make the speaker lapel microphone.Kind regards,ChristineCobra Customer Support TeamCase #: 00081192Internal ID: 500i000000TaYlCSubject Cobra.com Contact/Support Form Submission #32210ref:500i000000TaYlC

Not bad, but not that good either.
I had a cheaper version of this exact type of ear piece that was made by a no-name company. The no-name brand seemed to work okay except for the fact that the wires ripped easily which is why I needed to get a replacement.I bought this ear piece because it was pretty much like what I had and I knew (or thought I knew) that the mic would work okay the earpiece as a whole would serve it's purpose. I also assumed it would be of superior quality since it's made by Cobra. Anyways, the wire was more sturdy and didn't end up ripping the wire from the PTT button area, which is super. Problem is the earpiece wasn't snug in my ear and always felt like it was about to fall out. The cover around the earpiece ripped almost instantaneously upon use. When I tried to use it in an actual scenario my traffic was hit and miss with everyone else. Half the time people couldn't make out what I was saying. The mic isn't very good but you can hear everyone's traffic as clear as day.If the transmission of traffic between people was consistently copied it would get a better rating but the fact is, even though this thing is made my Cobra it's not much better that no-name brands when comparing performance of actual use. The product itself IS made a little better. I wouldn't buy this product again.

Great on the range
I teach carry permit classes and use these with the matching walkie-talkie to coordinate with other range officers. I snake the earbud under my hearing protection and we can have a useful conversation in a noisy range, even if we're in different rooms.

This headset has it's good points - it does plug into the radio correctly
OK, I'm not one generally to complain but this one needs complained about. Now, before I start, let me say that I am VERY familiar with two-way radios, headsets, and electronics, after having a 4 decade career in IT. This headset has it's good points - it does plug into the radio correctly. The PTT button does activate the transmit function. The cord is long enough to reach from belt to ear. That's about the only good things about it. The earpiece, while it fits comfortably, does not reproduce the sound from the radio at the same quality the radio speaker does. The mic on the cord, while it does transmit, can barely be heard by the other party you're talking to. Overall, this thing is very disappointing.I am going to contact Cobra and see what, if anything, can or will be done to rectify this issue, but I would suggest that you look elsewhere for a headset. This one does not even come close to what I needed or wanted.
