Itโs brilliant for sensitive skin!
I normally donโt write Amazon reviews, but Iโm pretty evangelical about this product. Iโve always had sensitive (and oily!) skin, but itโs gotten WAY worse in the past two years. Iโve had to throw away most of my makeup products and moisturizers because they were all breaking my skin out. On a desperate search for hypo-allergenic and non-comedogenic products (and for SPF that didnโt give me a rash or cystic acne), I found BareMinerals Complexion Rescue. It. Is. Glorious. Itโs hydrating and gives my skin a dewy texture (but somehow, it doesnโt look oily). It also evens my skin tone without providing full coverage. I used to rely heavily on foundation, but over time, Iโve embraced my fair skin and freckles. This allows the freckles to shine through. It doesnโt have a cakey texture, and yet somehow makes my face look way healthier than it normally does. That said, if youโre looking for full coverage, youโll have to pair this product with a regular foundation. I still pair it with sunscreen most of the time (because Iโm a ginger and I keep reading that 100% mineral sunscreens arenโt as effective as their labels say). If Iโm looking for fuller coverage, I wear BareMinerals powder foundation or mineral veil over it. The Complexion Rescue truly is fragrance free and hypoallergenic. Sometimes I forget to remove it before hot yoga, and this is the only skin product I own that doesnโt sting my eyes once I start to sweat. Itโs brilliant.

The most usable item in my make up bag! Excellent!
Winter shade I purchased is buttercream for my pale warm skin tone. Exactly what I was looking for. Iโm 46 and my skin has become mostly dry but after a few hours my face looks dull and has a bit too much oil under my eyes so that my eye make up can start to run buuut if I put powder under my eyes the skin becomes very wrinkly looking and too dry. (Itโs a lovely phase of life.) This gel/cream -Iโd call it a light cream- is as good as it gets if you want a lighter, natural coverage with moderate to nearly heavy moisturization. I can put some powder under my eyes and it stays smooth with no dryness or oiliness. This never looks cakey at all anywhere on my face. The perfect description is dewy and radiant. It minimizes redness but doesnโt cover every flaw. If full coverage is what a woman is looking for you wonโt be happy with this. I like to leave some of my own complexion showing through most days so for me this coverage is perfect. I also wanted a lighter feel and a higher spf for outdoor activity. Itโs excellent. Anything with spf usually burns my eyes at one point or another while wearing, ruining my day, this doesnโt at all! I seriously hope they keep making this exact formulation forever! Itโs perfect the way it is. I use it nearly every morning as a moisturizer even if Iโm not putting on a full face of make up and depending if I need to go anyplace later in the day and how made up I need to be I may put on another layer (which adds a little more coverage). This is the MOST usable item in my make up bag. I love it!

An honest review! Pros and cons
Lemme tell you all the pros and cons I had with this product :) as someone with sensitive combination and acne prone skin. Im not saying my experience will be the same for everyone but heres a lengthy honest personal review for those interested First off Im typically a "120" or "Classic Ivory" in shades, I tried the Natural, Vanilla, and ButterCream. ButterCream for me, was the best match with my yellow undertones. So heres the good! This product applies beautifully with your hands (as it directs) its light weight, and theres alot of product in the container! It truly is a tinted moisturzer and will give you alot of moisture to your face. It looks very beautiful when first applied and has a non irritating formula (for me!) Which is great. Has sun protection which is wonderful as well and a wide arrange of colors so all the makeup wearers can slay that sun away!!! THE CONS! I tried really hard to make this product work for me as I adored how it looked when first applied. I tried primimg it, setting powders, setting spray, leaving it alone... And it just wouldnt stay. Even without my mask, id find myself having to reapply because it becomes very cakey and splotchy looking after about 4-6hours. Its also (and this may be because i have occasionally oilly skin) is super skiny... Which after a few hours made my skin more greasy looking. It didnt seem to like mixing with my other products well. That could be on me. It just made me look older at the end of the day... And ya girl only 22! I tried to make this product work for months. And I have decided to now try to Tarte Tinted Moisturizer instead! Which... If I think is better, Ill be happy to update in this review! In the end :) its not a bad product, but for me it wasnt the best either. Its a Simon Cowell no for me, but every experience is different

I can't express how much I love this product
I can't express how much I love this product. BareMinerals has always been a sort of hit and miss for me. This product exceeded all of my expectations, it's actually the first makeup that I buy back-ups of. I have fairly persistent acne problems (I'm 25), it has always been an issue finding a product that I can wear to look like I gave a crap about myself without looking like I was covered in makeup (light but durable coverage has always been an issue). One of my friends recommended it to me, well went passed recommending and was raving about how amazing it is. I was happy to comply, she has flawless skin. I rarely wear actual foundation, concealer, or powder anymore, unless I'm going out somewhere I've got to tart myself up a bit. I noticed a change in my bare facial complexion within days. My skin brightened up, my acne is pretty much eliminated (has no alcohol, benzo, other acne treatments in it), and my skin was noticeably soft and hydrated. Initially when I first began wearing it, I would use two layers (because of my acne), I now use what I would consider about half of a layer, very minimal coverage. For longer wear, I recommend adding an extra layer than you usually would. Something I really love about it is when you put it on, it has a kind of cooling feeling, and with this less really is more as far as application goes. When layering, allow to completely absorb into skin before applying an extra layer (for longer wear). Or you can always totally just touch up later, I just usually never have time once I'm out the door to get near a mirror or sneak off for a couple of minutes. I was able to hydrate my skin (had to day/night because of my acne treatments that would dry out my skin), without having to use daily moisturizer. I know it is a little pricey, the product on here is actually less than BareMinerals the last time I checked, but if you want to give it a shot and decide that it isn't quite the product for you, I highly recommend keeping it on hand and using it for beach days or situations like that when you may want a lighter coverage that has SPF included. When the product first launched, they hand't released a full range of colors yet. If you're unsure if this is the right shade for you, I recommend visiting the BareMinerals website, they have a color chart. I went on there and then just came on here and searched for the specific shade I was matched with there. Last I checked in, they have at least 25 listed. One last thing worth mentioning, I don't wear mine with powder, but the friend that recommended it does her entire facial makeup routine (blush, translucent powder) with hers and it looks great still.

A love letter to my skin
First off, applying this stuff is like slathering on a luxurious cloud of whipped cream, but one that doesnโt melt or cause you to gain five pounds. The texture is so smooth, I half-expect it to start singing show tunes. Seriously, it glides on like it has a personal relationship with my skin cells. Now, letโs talk coverage. Itโs like the makeup version of a good friendโlight enough to let your natural beauty shine through but still there to cover up those late-night snack decisions (looking at you, pizza). Itโs the perfect blend of โI woke up like thisโ and โI actually had five hours of sleep.โ Spoiler alert: I didnโt. And can we take a moment to appreciate the hydration? My skin feels like itโs been on a vacation in Hawaii. Bye-bye, desert dryness! Itโs so refreshing that I briefly considered using it as a moisturizer. But alas, I resisted the urge to slather it on toastโthough Iโm still not ruling that out. The best part? This magical potion doesnโt melt away faster than my willpower at a dessert buffet. It stays put through my daily adventures, whether Iโm conquering spreadsheets or running after my kids like a caffeinated superhero. In conclusion, if youโre looking for a BB cream that feels like a cozy hug for your face and leaves you looking naturally fabulous, grab yourself some Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue. Your skin will thank you, and so will your selfies. Just be prepared for all your friends to ask if youโve been airbrushedโbecause youโll look that good!

Combo Acne Prone HG
I have extremely acne prone combination skin and I live in a dry environment. Between hormonal and environmental cycles, chemical sensitivities, and health problems my skin is super high maintenance, and I LOVE this product. I have used it for almost 2 years. It is well reviewed on beautypedia, and I agree it's a great balance between "natural" and empirically tested compounding. I do not find it too emollient, in fact it can be a smidge drying or at least it can highlight dry patches, especially if not buffed enough. But it soothes and hydrates gently. Takes several hours to separate much in the labial nose folds or under eyes, it lasts about 1.5-2 months with almost daily usage, longevity is decent (more than any liquid foundation I've ever used). Coverage is sheer to medium. I find it to be quite matte, and it seems to protect my skin from environmental pollutants and prevent excess oil production while still letting my skin breathe. Not waterproof but compatible with nyx setting spray. At it's fullest coverage it has a tendency to look a smidge cakey but application plays a role in that. It functions for me in many ways: โขTINTED MOISTURIZER/BB CREAM/FOUNDATION On my best skin days, usually during the summer, *maybe* with spot concealer and/or a translucent setting powder. It is easily mixed with other products (I have mixed it with skin79 orange, laura geller concealer, leftover foundations, although beware mixing it with anything heavily silicone based or oil -based vs water or glycerine -based). โขPRIMER I have used this under the Bare Minerals pressed mineral foundation and they work quite well together bringing this product to a medium-full coverage. Also, I recently invested in a water based airbrush makeup system, and, like all water-based moisturizers, this new foundation cannot be applied over products containing silicones or oils. Even my top of the line, holy grail, anti aging skincare routine for acne prone skin (paulas choice) has dimethicone in it as a slip agent and thus cannot be worn under water based makeup. Cue search for morning skincare routine, especially for sun protection. After extensive research I find this is still the best option. I currently use a very benign silicone free primer/moisturizer* and a little of this gel cream, which is almost better than any primer because it is literally the only SPF product I have found that does not contain silicones or comodogenic oils and it has the added benefit of evening out your complexion too. I would choose this product over a silicone free primer if I had to because a) it has the same skin benefits b) neither of them fill lines and pores the way silicone products do, and c) it provides uv protection. *lorac so sensitive, becca mattifying, korres mattifying, and tarte brightening primers are all silicone free, as is straight up hyaluronic acid. All can be used under this if desired. None of those contain SPF. โขSUNSCREEN. Like I said, this is currently the only way I can get UV protection without silicones or oils. TIP: If you have oily or acne prone skin and are waffling between this and the BM Bareskin serum foundation: Go with this, end of story. I have tried both. BOTTOM LINE: total Holy Grail product, even when not operating as my primary foundation.

Best foundation
My favourite foundation. I just love it. It is moistening but works well on my oily skin. On me it is almost full coverage. It plays well with sunscreen. Iโve bought at least 30 bottles of this.
