Reduce eye-strain and staring-at-computer headaches by at least 80%
About me: I wear soft contact lenses. I often spend more than ten hours at the computer in one day, and am prone to headaches. I am slightly prone to dry eyes. I got these glasses because I had frequent, severe eye strain-induced headaches. Sizing: I wear a woman's large hat. One-size-fits-all hats are invariably too small for me. These glasses fit me, but they'd be too tight if my head were any bigger. Smearing: Before I bought these, I read some reviews that said they smeared easily. I have found they smear exactly the same amount as my prescription glasses or sunglasses. Just have a cloth to wipe them off and maybe some spray, and you'll be fine. Case: These do not come with a hard case. I believe the company allows you to buy one, but I just bought a sunglasses case from TJ Maxx, which fits them perfectly. Quality: These are NOT cheap-feeling glasses. They are fairly sturdy, have a matte finish that doesn't get sweaty or sticky, and don't creak. I expect them to last for years. Functionality: When I wear these for long periods of time while using the computer, my headaches are reduced by at least 80%, especially those caused by eyestrain. Sometimes, I sit at my computer and forget to put them on until I realize I'm squinting (which I no idea I did!) and blinking to keep my eyes from drying out. Then I remember I have these, put them on, and -- immediately, I stop squinting and have less problems with dryness. They aren't magic -- staring at a screen for ten hours is never going to be good for you -- but they make an enormous difference. Price: I agonized over whether to get these because of the price. I figured I'd buy them and, if they didn't work, try to resell them. Well, they were worth the money, they really were. If I lost them, I would immediately buy another pair. Appearance: Yes, I do look dorky wearing them. You can't really see from the picture how silly they look. But the shape is clearly necessary for functionality, and you (and those around you) get used to it. Other uses: I've begun using these for watching television also, when my eyes are feeling bad. I find they help there, too.

Bang for your buck
Has reduced my headaches at work (work on the computer) and are sturdy build! Highly recommend, good investment and good quality for the price. Even comes in a bag for travel and wiping the lenses.

Good product, but get dirty quickly and are hard to clean.
I have been using the Flux application for quite a while on all of my computers. I find it very helpful and it really helps me with headaches and falling asleep easier at night. Now, you may be wondering why I purchased the glasses if I liked Flux so much, and the reason is that I just notice Flux too much when watching sports, movies, etc on the computer at night. The Gunnar glasses have really helped me in this sense. I can now watch hockey games and can barely tell that I am looking through a yellowed lens. I typically wear the glasses all day, but some days I will not use them because I have some issues with the rear frame contacts rubbing my skull just behind my ears. Perhaps after a few months of use or as my hair grows out, this will go away. Another thing I wanted to note is that these are BIG. My head is by no means small, but these still look big on me. Here are my pros and cons for these Gunnars: Pros: -They do what they are supposed to... They ease eye strain which can help with many things. For me, it helps me get to bed easier after I have been working or playing on the computer for hours on end. It also helps prevent headaches if you have light sensitivity, which on occasion I do. -These are relatively cheap for this market of glasses (which admittedly is overpriced). -Great coverage of your eyes - you'd have to strain your eyes to look over the frames. I purchased this model because they seem to offer the greatest amount of coverage and somehow they are still the cheapest... Win - win, in my opinion. -Good styling and look. -Good fit (for me). They stay on your head well and don't slide off your nose, even when you have a small nose like myself. -Allows you more flexibility than just using the Flux application. You can now get the yellow/sepia effect even when watching TV or looking at non-PC/Phone screens. -Solid and sturdy construction. They are very solid and the lenses seem pretty durable. You don't have to worry about bending or breaking any of the nose contacts on these, as you would with the metal versions. Cons: -Get dirty very easily. Be prepared to clean these at least once a day. Often I find myself cleaning them two or three times a day. -Hard to clean. For some reason, no matter what I use or do to clean them, they still don't seem to get totally clean. They always seem to have streaks on them from the water I use to clean them. Perhaps there is a better solution... -Looks. I like the way they look, but I'm sure a lot of people do not. Let me know if you have any questions and I would be happy to answer them.

Not a gimmick
I went into this whole "blue light filtering" sales pitch as just that a gimmick-sales-pitch to placebo solution. But after much asking from my SO to try it I can say there must be some truth for it. I suffer from migraines and recently got a job staring at screens much of the day - needless to say I was itching for a solution. I ordered these to see if there was a difference and my-oh-my is it not a gimmick. These have made my eye strain practically null. Well worth every dime if you work around screens alot.

Stopped this designer’s ocular migraines
I am a web developer and designer. I also run a small creative agency. After work, it’s not uncommon to have screen time once the kids are in bed. Needless to say, I look at screens for too many hours per day. Before owning these glasses, I used to get ocular migraines (not a headache but would have bright spots from bright lights that wouldn’t disappear from my vision). I’d have to lay down and close my eyes for 15-30 minutes until the spots in my vision would go away and I could continue working. That changed when I got these glasses. I never have once gotten an ocular migraine wearing them. I now wear them even when I’m watching TV. Looking at a screen is like staring at a flashlight. It can’t be good for our eyes. Thankfully glasses like these help mitigate the effects. Comparing to other brands I have used the cheap brand and also the more expensive versions (i.e. Swannies) that are orange blockers, etc. The lesser versions work decently but just not as well as these. The Swannies work as well but they severely tint the screen and change the colors of everything. The Gunnars are good at both. Durability I have now bought 4 or 5 pairs of these over about as many years because they have kept breaking, BUT it’s important to note that the reason mine have broken is largely do to me having 4 small children who love to rough house with their daddy. Even when I’m holding them in my arms as babies, they will grab the glasses off my face (contorting them in the process). I also sat on one pair (oops!). All these things considered, along with their price point, and I would say the glasses are very durable for what you pay. I mean to say that, they may be a bit less durable than a fancy pair of glasses that cost hundreds of dollars but probably not by much. They are obviously plastic but they are not flimsy and as long as you are not wrestling with them and are exercising proper glasses care (taking them on and off with both hands), these will probably last a very, very long time. In my case, I’m glad it doesn’t break the bank to get a replacement pair when my kids break them. Overall, I am grateful for these glasses and have recommended them to many people.

Great lenses, but comfort could use some work
It took me awhile to leave a review for these, because for awhile I wasn't sure I was even going to keep them. The lenses are great, and definitely work as advertised. The slight magnification took a couple days for my eyes to adjust to, as I don't normally wear glasses. During this adjustment period, I did experience what felt like some eye strain and mild headaches, but once my eyes adjusted to them, it feels very comfortable to look through these lenses. The biggest reason I need to subtract two stars from this review is because of the comfort, or lack thereof, of the frames. While I appreciate that the materials have some weight, thickness, and feel of a high quality, this also makes them much less comfortable to wear for long periods of time - at least at first. This aspect took me much longer to adjust to - maybe 2-3 weeks even. It initially felt like the frames dug into my ears, and actually caused me some pain. The nose bridge also felt like it was digging in at times, causing some discomfort. Perhaps if the earpieces/sides of the frames were more straight, instead of curved, and less thick/heavy, it wouldn't dig into the head and ears so much. The matte frames also tend to collect a lot of oils from your hair/skin which might bother some people. Comparing to the ~$20 ANRRI glasses on Amazon, which I also tried, those glasses are much more comfortable and lightweight, but also lack the build/lens quality of these glasses, so there is a tradeoff. Ultimately, I wear these glasses pretty often. Once you get over the long, and sometimes frustrating/painful adjustment period, they actually are really nice, and work as intended. For the price though, that adjustment period shouldn't be there. You should be able to wear them and instantly feel the comfort, because that's their main purpose. Whenever I wear my pair of Neff sunglasses, I often wish these Gunnar frames felt like that.

Nice and comfortable with good FOV
I've owned a Gunnar MLG Phantom before and it really helps with eye stress when looking at monitors for a long period of time because my right eye was injured before, but the my problem with the Phantom was the lens being too small. And it does have a slight magnification that might not be for everyone but it helps with texts. Been using the Intercept for a few months and the lens is basically the same on my Phantom but much bigger and wider and doesn't look as " Gamery "? But it does still have a distinct difference from normal spectacles because of the amber tint, compared to my Phantom i would say this is way more suitable for me but one down side is that it might not feel comfortable with some headphones.

Saved my life.
these are amazing. I wear them at work and at home now. it feels really hard to stare at the computer screen without them on now. this is coming from a person during a 8 hour shift in front of the computer would rub my eyes constantly all through out the day, and by the end of the day my eyes are so sore and burning all i want to do is sleep. and next morning i will wake up with read eyes and repeat the process. i brought these glasses as a last resort to find something that would help. 80 bux for something like this is definitely expensive. but my eye sight vs. 80 bux right? later i will buy another pair as my temple is to wide for this pair. the sizing in the photo is wrong. its 137mm frame width instead of 145mm and these do smudge like a mofo. lucky the IT department stock wipes =]
