Bookbinding essential
Works exactly as it should. Mix with clean water, dab it where needed, wait as needed and you're ready to go. Fine product.

easy to use,
does not dry out quickly in my container (with a cap when not using it) nor in the brush. Works well with paper book plates. Plan to buy more when I run out.

Good PVA extender
This works great extending your pva glue. Mixed as instructed it does not have the consistency you want. You need to cut back on the liquid.

I'll "stick" with this stuff
Love this stuff. I mix it up at night, before I go to bed and it's ready the next day. If you've never worked with this, 1 1/5 oz. goes a long way! 1 tbs. makes 1/2 cup (4 oz.) of gel. Also, I mix this at a ratio of 50/50 with PVA and it makes a really strong, but faster drying adhesive. It (the Lineco Methyl Cellulose) gives you a little more working time with the PVA because PVA dries really fast. Came really fast. Really like dealing with Lineco very nice company!

This is a breeze to mix and produces an even consistency without grit. Application was smooth without significant bunching. I applied to marbled paper on book binders board and was impressed at the lack of wrinkling / bunching which I had experienced with acid-free PVA adhesive. I won't be turning back now and have learned the error of my adhesive ways. From now on I will be using methyl cellulose for marbled paper and PVA for book cloth projects.

This adhesive was awesome. I bought it to repair a very jagged rip in a vintage Naguchi lamp. It had been knocked off of a table and tore almost completely around the top. The top is where the lamp shade sits on the lamp base, so it's also the point that has to be the strongest. My husband had written the lamp off as ruined. Using the Lineco Methyl Cellulose, I readhered the delicate paper edges together. The repair is alost unnoticeable. When my husband saw the lamp back on the table, he thought I had managed to find another to purchase and replace the "ruined" one. But nope, with this great product I was able to beautifully repair a $500+ vintage lamp for just under $10!

Wonderful Stuff
I used it to repair an antique photo. After 24 hours it is transparent and safe to use on your family photos but best of all it dries mat not glossy. Virtually undetectable. No sheen at all.
