You will need to eat it within 5 days of opening.

Is this product shipped on ice or does it only need to be refrigerated once opened?

you need to refrigerate once opened - we usually ship ours with an ice pack but you don't really have too unless weather is really hot.

What's the best way to eat this?

Need to keep it refrigerated. You can either eat it on a slice of a small baguette with a thin slice/shaving of butter then a pat of pate or as my husband ( who is French/American) likes I lightly toast a piece of white bread, instead of the baguette and cut it into 4 squares . Put shaved butter and pate on after it has cooled. It is good with cornichons ( tiny, briny pickles) and/or small radishes.
