Our trainer used this for our extremely hard to handle, strong willed dog. It made a huge difference in his obedience but not out of fear. It teaches him to pay attention to us. I used it on my hand and it does not hurt. Easy to learn to use, high quality. Over the years we bought four more for our other dogs and for Christmas gifts.

I use this on my Anatolian Shepherd mix that is my barn/trail dog. He can get a bit distracted by scents and chooses to have some questionable hearing when it comes to a “Leave it” with all the fun smells and excitement- understandably so. This just helps reinforce his leave it. I primarily keep it on vibrate and it works great through all of his excess neck skin and thick coat. I have had to shock him on a level 3 once or twice but that was an extreme case. Great tool and the battery life is FANTASTIC!!! I’ve never used one before so I did a decent amount of research before putting it on him. Within two days of working with him on it, it’s just another tool in the arsenal. He also doesn’t mind wearing it- he has sensitive/itchy skin that harnesses and some collars agitate, but not this one. It’s survived the mud, rain, and snow so far in the 2 months I’ve had it and still works wonderfully.

Competitive price - the range in this works very well. This is our second one and the other worked well over four years. We got a longer range unit this time and it is working good.

Reliable signal, great range. My dog laughs at the vibration setting on this collar, she totally ignores it for some reason so I quit using it. The tone works fine for her as does the "stimulation" aka Electric Shock. The button settings on the transmitter are super goofy but whatever. Great range and reliable "stimulation."Update after 1 year - still going strong. The range is excellent. My dog can basically be a speck on the horizon and when I hit the beeper and she comes running, every time. Granted, this is after a lot of positive reinforcement training - after wearing this collar for a year the only setting I ever use now is tone. Her whole demeanor changes when she hears that beep, she focuses on me 100% until she receives a physical "check in" from me. This used to always involve treats but I don't need them anymore. She's completely hooked on that beep and the check in, whether she gets a treat during check in or not.This is a tough collar, she has worn it lord knows how many hours, dug many holes with it on, swam through water many times and it's still working as good as day one. I wash off any caked on mud off and dry it with paper towels. I don't know how long the battery life is but I know it has never died, even after being turned on for days in cold weather. She gets excited when she sees it, because seeing her collar means that it is time to go play. I'd definitely buy it again, hope it lasts a couple more years.I am no longer annoyed by the goofy way the control dial/button configurations are set up because all I ever use is tone now.

This morning I walked my dog outside without a leash on. She was wearing her Sportdog collar. Another dog walked by, and she went to charge at it. I had the collar on the beeper setting, and beeped it once. She came to a hard stop, turned around, and walked back toward me.I bought this collar with the hopes of being able to train my dog off-leash. She's a husky with a very high prey drive. So far I have been extremely impressed by how effective it has been.At the beginning, I had to use the shock setting a few times but she quickly learned recall just with the beeper setting. The only improvement I could see to this product would be if there was a setting that beeped and shocked at the same time, in order to make the transition from shocking to beeping quicker. That said, I no longer have to use the shock setting at all, as my dog now responds very well to the beep alone. Amazing product! Extremely satisfied!

I spent the money on this since it was supposed to last and was from a reputable company. However, it stopped working barely 6 months after purchasing it. I can not find any warranty that covers it and it can not longer be returned through Amazon.

We have had a few of these and glad to see a NEW charging cord for them. Ones work awesome, but the end of one charging broke off into the collar and other I to the remote. We believe in this product so we just ordered a new one and works great. We have a wireless containment center as well, but have not had to have it on at our beach house in Florida. Lots of foxes, bears, and other animals he hunts and this unit gives us the piece of mind when he does go I to the woods.

Put this on my Belgian Malinois. What an excellent product, well worth the money. Have piece of mind, but this. It’ll work every time.

Works perfectly for my stubborn dog.

Really a great tool to train puppy humanely and provide freedom.
