It’s is a brief style. Not tight fitting inner lining very baggy so lots of room in them

Would the pocket at the back fit 4 to 5 energy gels to take for a marathon or long training run?

Not 100% sure on energy gel size but I have plenty of space in the pocket even with my phone. I've even have a knee strap in with the phone but think that was pushing the limits of usefulness as was over full really. But for just 4/5 gels think space should be fine just getting the first one out with out dropping the others might be a skill you need to practice

I'm having problems with running shorts riding up my inside leg and causing problems...I have to keep pulling them loose & makes you sore
