in good condition, packaged inside two boxes and a plastic ...
Wow! Sound blows you away! It is everything promised by Bose. It arrived a day early, in good condition, packaged inside two boxes and a plastic shock absorber. The outer box was just a plain brown box. The bluetooth adapter works well and it was easy to set up. The remote came with a battery installed. In just a few minutes I was able to connect my tv to the auxillary connection. I already had the rca jacks. I would love to have another one for my other room but I don't want to let go of the $$$!

NO LONGER OPERATES. Displays PLEASE UPDATE but BOSE no longer supports. Expensive boat anchor
Bought in 2015 and sound was great until this week when the display showed only PLEASE UPDATE. The Bose website doesn't offer any options for the Bose Wave III. Any other similar product would not have just stopped working, but BOSE has no options since it has no USB connection or CD capabilities. $349 is too much money for such poor product support. Lesson learned. Never again will I purchase a BOSE product.

A great product using Bluetooth.
The quality is great and why not it is Bose. The fact that you can take your panacea of music on your smart phone and play it on your Bose, it is wonderful. You don’t need to buy CDs nor listen to a radio station. Just set your smartphone reasonably close to the Bose and it will play your music. I love it.

Probably overpriced, but sounds good
This is not something I'd buy for myself, but my wife had wanted one for a long time so I bought it for her.The sound is certainly impressive, regardless of whatever tricks they use to achieve it. There's no bass/treble adjustment of any kind, just volume, so if you're picky about that kind of thing (I am) you may be disappointed (I'm not, for what it is). Personally when I really care about sound quality I'm going to be using headphones. For casual listening this is pretty darn good.We don't actually need the radio much, but I chose the model with bundled bluetooth adapter instead of one of the way-overpriced CD models, since we can stream any music we already have on the computer, or play a cd via the computer if we haven't already ripped it (or don't wish to). This is a little nicer than hooking a CD player up to the audio input (which seemed like it would be simpler but in the end it's not). For the most part that works well, with a few minor disappointments.- Occasionally there will be dropouts of the bluetooth audio - this may be worse in areas with heavy 2.4GHz wifi signals, but at my house there's only mine.- I expected for some reason that the display on the radio would display info about the song playing over bluetooth, but it doesn't. You can, however (depending on the music's source) skip or pause the music using the radio's remote.- Switching between multiple bluetooth sources leaves something to be desired. The adapter 'remembers' 6 devices which should be enough for most people, but during the "initiation" process (you know, when you get a new toy and try out every possible feature), we must have tried more than 6 devices which meant a lot of bluetooth discovery went on. But more than that, just switching between two devices can be a frustrating process of disabling bluetooth to get one to 'let go' so the other one can use it.The radio itself is a little smaller than I expected which was a pleasant surprise. The tiny remote that others complain about is not too bad but I did get the large backlit one as well (which is a little oversized really).Overall though I think the bluetooth connection gives you a good amount of flexibility to play just about anything you'd want (you can even repurpose a retired smartphone as a music player for permanent connection, and with a little ingenuity even play music from your non-bluetooth computer through your phone/tablet).

Fine, but boomy bass.
When I was considering buying this, I thought the few reviews that disparaged the sound were just audiophile snobs for whom nothing would sound good enough. But having lived with this radio for a couple months, I have to say it's just way too boomy. It's like they overcompensated for the compactness by giving it this huge bass, but now it just sounds like boomy bass with a normal little radio playing underneath it. An EQ control would probably solve that to my unsnobby satisfaction but it would increase the price too I guess. Having said that, the rest of the functionality is very nice, the reception, the clock radio etc, which is really all I use it for.

Bought a 2nd Bose for our Kitchen
Well we always wanted a Bose Wave radio but wasn't sure if the extra money was worth it. A couple of months ago we finally decided to see why so many people we know have a Wave Music System. Wow, we get it now!We love the the rich full sound. You can crank it up and the speakers don't rattle and with heavy bass. We like the simple remote without a hundred buttons to try and figure out. It has just the ones I will be using regularly. It was a little disappointing that the remote didn't control my ipod but not a deal killer for sure. Our first Bose Wave Music System is in our bedroom and if we leave the door open and crank it up it will fill the house will great sounding music. We are really pleased with the great sounding music that this Bose Wave Music System produces, so much so that we purchased this our second. This Wave Radio we installed in the kitchen in the corner up under the cabinet where it is out of the way. When we turn it on it fills the kitchen and living room with rich full sound.

Disappointing reception.
Terrible reception on FM mode. I live in Los Angeles! For the price, I'd expect better reception. I had to purchase the FM antenna with little change in reception. Quite disappointing.

My favorte thing in my home!
Love my Bose wave! My father has had his for ten+ years. When ever we visit and he has his Bose wave on it just fills the house with delightful sounds. I begged my husband to get one of these this year. They are expensive, but well worth it if you love music. Now they have the Bluetooth so you can stream music from apps on your phones or from your tablets. so cool! Cause I store all my music on amazon. Thank you Bose for awesome sound! And thank you Amazon for making shopping fun and easy!
