GREAT TABLE FAN
A great tilting and oscillating table fan in a convenient size. I don’t use the oscillation feature, but I do make use of the tilt and swivel features. Quiet for its size, relatively light weight, good air movement, and durable. The power cord is 5 feet long. As my other brands of fans die, I replace them with comparable Lorell fans. Three down, one to go.Easy to assemble with clear assembly instructions. When you open the shipping box, remove the plastic carry handle from the box and save it – you may want to attach it to the fan. I would recommend starting the fan assembly by attaching the base first, so that the fan body can stand upright by itself while you attach the grille and fan blades. The only tool possibly needed would be a medium sized Phillips head screwdriver if you want to install the small screw located on the underside of the base. Open the three latches (top and sides) on the back grille section. Note that the inner nut for securing the back of the grille is already attached to the main unit and must be removed before attaching the back section of the grille and then securing it with the back nut. Attach the fan blade and secure with the nut for the front of the blade, which is packaged with the fan blade. Attach the front section of the grille and secure by clamping with the three grille latches. The thin fixed metal handle at the back of the fan grille is not the most convenient fan handle ever invented, especially for large hands. But the fan can always be picked up by the motor housing. And if you remove the plastic carry handle from the shipping box, it can be attached to the back of the grille for a more convenient fan handle.

Simple operation, quiet and moves a lot of air
I bought this fan (Lorell Desk Fan, 12 Oscillating) along with the Honeywell Whole Room Air Circulator Floor/Table Fan, HT-908 for use in a bedroom and living room. This is a simple oscillating table fan with a UL listed (2 prong) plug so it will fit in any outlet - a nice feature in my house with very few 3 prong outlets. The plug seems to be robust with a cord that is about three feet long. It's not a long cord but it reaches the outlet where I need it to reach without an extension cord or power strip. This fan was simple to put together without instructions or vision, just remember that the locknut is reverse threaded so it won't shake loose with the fan rotation. I like the push button controls: Off/Low/Medium/High over a rotary dial.As far as operation, I was really impressed with how quiet and gentle sounding this fan is, even at high speed. It also moves an amazing amount of air for such a small fan. I'm not a frequent user of the oscillating option but it's a nice feature. The fan can be tilted up and down to adjust pitch without loosening a knob.Compared to the Honeywell, this fan feels like it moves more air and has a seemingly smoother sound. I believe it is both quieter and gentler, if that makes sense. The Honeywell moves a lot of air too and is not an oscillating fan. It is more compact so if you have tight spaces, you may want to consider the Honeywell as it performs well too. Along with the more noticeable sound, another thing I didn't like about the Honeywell is the switch that is located on the rear top of the fan and can be more difficult to reach and operate without physically turning the fan around to reach the rotary control. My 9 year old son likes the Honeywell as he thinks it looks "cool".While the Honeywell is a very decent fan, my preference is definitely with this Lorell .It was well packaged and arrived quickly. Assembly took me less time than unpacking but I don't have the option to sit and read instructions first.

Best fan out there in my opinion!
This is the second Lorell I've purchased. The first was fifteen years ago and it lasted that long until an accidental breakage on my part. It's a smooth blade action fan, very quiet, nice airflow and it oscillates. When I went to replace my old one, I knew it was worth the money to get another one. Fantastic electric fan in my opinion.

Heavy duty desk fan.
Fan was of superior quality and shipped quickly. I bought this fan for white noise while I slept. Problem for me is it is so well built, that it's TOO quiet. I doubt that's a problem for many people so 5 stars for sure.
