I love this continuing sage, watching the brothers grow into themselves.
As the Brothers grow and evolve and become 'not' perfect, but the best version of themselves, its awesome to be along for the ride, and not just the brothers, the side characters are also fascinating. I still wonder about Lance who has been absent from the last few books but hope he makes an appearance in the 4th one. I'm starting to really wonder about their parents too, so Buckle up, waiting for the journey to continue.

I was thrilled to once again escape into a world ...
I was thrilled to once again escape into a world of wizzardry, continuing the story of The Brothers Three. I spent an entire day off reading The Spirit Mage, unable to close my Kindle!! I can't wait till March for the conclusion!!! 😮 I'm a big fan of all Layton Green books!

Exciting Series
I’m loving these books and they just keep getting better. It was good to get to know Val better this book and while I don’t care much for Caleb, maybe the next book will feature him.

As good as the first
This one didn’t disappoint. Layton Green can definitely spin a compelling tale. Magic, sword fights, eviscerations, decapitations, 2 headed ogres, giant bugs, good vs evil and a little devilish sex appeal. It’s got it all. Looking forward to book 3

An adventure within an adventure
There's no rest for these characters as they experience monsters, evil fantasy creatures, and difficult circumstances one after the other. Lots is packed into the story. This is the second book in a trilogy and ends with a cliffhanger.

D & D in a story
This book was like a Dungeon and Dragons game but in a storybook. I have enjoyed the greater character development and look forward to the next in the series.

Captivating
The characters are so real and their individual stories are so captivating it’s hard to put the book down until you’re done.

Layton Green, one great author
I like the surprises always in Greens books. Thanks for your great reads. This series is hard to put down. The brothers are as strong in character and mind as you would think wizards should be but only after being forsed to be! The story is well worth your time! Enjoy! :-)

It was all right
Lots of random things happening that's unrelated to the main plot. It really feels like the author just wrote out an RPG in book form. I got tired of yet more "extraordinary" places and creatures throughout the book that's really just put there for no purpose at all. The clichés are numerous and deliberate (red devil-like creatures who live under the earth near lava, wielding pitch forks? With not even an original name: darvish) The book was slow-going and boring in the first half that picked up a bit in the second half. To the author's credit, I still cared about the characters and found Val's main plot interesting. But don't expect anything special.

saga continues
great second book in the series, and i love that the series is only three books long and doesn't go on and on compromising the quality of material
