What can i say its a great RO filter at a great price!
I dont see why someone could write a bad review on this RO aquatic filter...... it works like a dream, 2:1 wast water, 10 minutes to connect to water supply and mount. What can I say it works like a dream. I use it for a hydroponic setup on a 4ร8 flood table with 28 plants in 3 gallon fabric pots it so far it works perfectly... time will tell if it holds up but for the price and performance I'm extremely happy with my purchase... I spent hours looking at all the different RO water filter on Amazon and I finally decided on this one and I'm happy I did. I purchased a float valve separately to have automatic shutoff on my water tank to complete my system. With automatic water feeding and the float valve the system pretty much runs itself. Hope this review helps someone else with there RO water filter decision. If i run into any problem in the future I'll be sure to report back.

Not as hard, as it looks! You can do it!
Easy! Not as hard as it looks (my opinion.) I was scared to try this, I wasnโt sure if I could hook it up or not. Not bad! Watch the video on the amazon site, or you tube. I thought it was easier than reading the directions. I got it for my 75 gallon saltwater fish/reef tank. Works great! My water has been easier to balance. I canโt say for other uses. I donโt drink it, I guess you could, but I donโt. 2nd thought: donโt drink it till you know itโs safe! Ask someone who knows what theyโre doing!๐คฆโโ๏ธ๐ Itโs great for aquarium set up and maintenance. My Saltwater fish/anemones are doing great! I did the kitchen sink setup, people mention using their bathtub faucet (that requires an adapter.) My kitchen sink is closer to my tank, and I had everything included. Itโs easy! A little slow/time consuming (when making 75 gallons.) But, the results were worth it.

The product does what it's supposed to and it's price is excellent. Would recommend for fish tanks.
So I bought this after reading the mixed reviews here. I needed RO water for my fish tank as our water here is very hard. After using this product, the water I collect is clean and soft! It works very well and delivers a GPH of around 5 (based on my measurement). It's loosing a star though because it is clunky-er than I'd like it to be but I'm using it outside and running a tube through the window (no mess!) so aesthetics aren't a big deal. To respond to a few points other people raise: Leaks: I bought teflon tape when I purchased this product. The only leak I encountered after 4 hours of use was from the RO filter housing. I put Teflon tape on the threading and BAM no more leak. I would assume any other leaks can be solved the same way if I get them. Undoing the tubing: The product had instructions in it. Maybe an older model didn't but the one I received did. Worst case their website explains with pictures how to remove/secure the tubing. Wastefulness: It does put off a good amount of waste water. I didn't measure it but it seems to flow 2-4 times faster than my clean outlet. I bought enough tubing to go with it that I can just put it in our garden and water some plants while I get my clean water. Alternatively if you do not have plants to water, it can go down the drain. Even with the waste, this is more cost effective than buying bottled or RO water. Life of the filter: I've read a couple reviews talking about the filter not lasting very long. I will update this after more uses. Because it's slow flowing, you will need either a holding tank or direct flow into what ever your application is. I have large home depot buckets and a 30 gallon storage tub that work great.

Great product! Read me!
This works very well. I read all of the 1 star reviews and had to jump in... If you are getting HIGH PPM, you more than likely are capturing the WASTE water and need to reconfigure your RO buddie. This is NOT meant to feed DRINKING WATER supplies (i.e. faucet/refrigerator water supply) depending on the flow speed it is between 50-100 GALLONS PER HOUR. I have been successfully breeding Caridina shrimp using only this RO buddie with its original membrane/carbon/sediment cartridges since August 2016- On average I fill a 55 gal reservoir tank every other day. I am still getting a constant 3 ppm and recently bought a new sediment and carbon cartridge. I am maintaining the following planted tanks with only the RO buddie water and no water treatment chemicals. On average 40-50% water changes on each tank 1-2 times a week. 1x5 Gal cube tank, 1x2.5 gal desk tank, 4x20 Gal shrimp breeding tanks, 1x29 Gal planted show tank. Recently added a 40 Gal discus breeding tank to the mix doing 50% water changes every other day or every day if I have time. Planning on adding 2 more 55 gal reservoir tanks to keep up with my water changes as I do have to wait sometimes (only using the 50 GPM version!). As for the advice to get a "more expensive one" does not solve the inability to read instructions. This is the most cost effective RO/DI system on the market with cheap replacements for sediment and carbon cartridges. If you maintain these two things then the membrane will last as its intended. If you are not running some industrial fish breeding op then go with this one and follow instructions/common sense.

Great value on the 50gpd and compact
I've had the 50 gpd and now the 100, only get about 120 gallons before the di is exhausted with the 100gpd. The 50gpd offers great value and clean water for this price, but I wouldn't recommend the 100gpd as di resin seems to last 1/4 as long. I run 2 di cartridges to achieve 0-1 ppm water from well water. Sediment and carbon cartridges are small and don't last very long with this as the only downside...... They're cheap and easy to replace. I get about 200 gallons average out of them, that makes it cheaper than buying water for me. Use the smart buddie booster if you have low pressure and these produce good water at a good rate (I have the booster).

ZERO TDS !!!
It's a good stand alone RO system for a camper, 1 or 2 person apartment life, or travel, or for a large fish tank set up . You should get a mineral chamber as to add this to the water filter if you plan on drinking the water and want good tasting water. But this is true with ALL RO systems. But not a household family usage without constant filter changes. IMHO What I liked about this? ZERO yes Zero TDS. Its for my reef tank. I did add 2 other carriages. I took this from a 3 stage to a 5 stage to make it a RO/ID system. No Leaks !!! I did need more tubing to set this up. and it is portable. What I did not like, was a little P.I.T.A. on configuring this for the 2 other carriages. no real instructions but no biggie.

Slower than advertised flow, filter not even filtering.
I purchased one of these years ago and it did just great. After moving I purchased another one for the new house, but the new one's flow rate was abysmal. It was taking almost 5 hours to fill a 5 gallon barrel. (product claims 100 gal/day--> about 4gal/hour.) After returning that one and getting a new one, the new one also does not work, but for different reasons. The second one's flow rate was fast but it was not filtering at all. I measured my tap water, the waste water, and the "filtered" water with a TDS meter, and all readings were 180 ppm. I have tested this same meter with bottled water that reads 15ppm, an appropriate amount for filtered water. I'm not sure If I was unlucky, or the product has gone down in quality.

What a life saver!!!
I have an indoor garden in my house and I was using my tap water for the longest time. My tap water would always change and was never consistent causing nutrient issues with my plants. I did some research on RO units and this one fit my bill because of its cheap price and ease of setup. I have it hooked up in my garage where my garden is and it also came with the attachment to hook it up to a hose faucet. This thing literally took me 20 minutes to set up and was getting 7ppm water after completed! My ppm's on my tap water would range from 250-350. One thing to note is that you are going to have to buy extra tubing to run from your water source to the unit, Unit to waste drain, and unit to reservoir where you will be holding your clean RO water. Other than that it is an outstanding piece of equipment that has made my life so much easier.

Great product!
Really smart product. Work very well and filters water great. Only tiny thing are the little clamps that secure lines to cartridges, they work GREAT but are so tiny! Very efficient.

Works Well......
I find it a bit noisy at times but I have varying water pressure being on a well system so that might be causing it but this RO system works well. I don't get the 100 g's a day out of it but I've got less than ideal water pressure, by the way It does come with some piping which was enough for me. My biggest complaint is someone jammed a shipping plug in so far it took me 20-30 minutes to get it out without wrecking the unit as it was locked in and no room to push down because it was already jammed all the way to the bottom! These shipping plugs aren't even necessary, it was a very frustrating install because of that but other than that it's fairly easy to install and didn't/doesn't leak and produces nice low TDS water.

Excellent unit
This is my first RO until, got it to make water for a 17g nano reef, it was easy to set up but you will have to purchase some 1/4 inch tubing, I ordered 20ft and it was enough for my set-up. I got the 100 gpd model and I am able to fill a 5 gallon bucket in about a hour and a half. Overall I am very happy with the Aquatic Life RO Buddie.

Very clean water
This system works great for hydroponics or aquarium l have a total desolved solids meter and when l test the water from the filters it reads 000ppm.can't get much better than that very happy with the ROBuddy.
