dog seems to like it, just stick it in the fridge until you use it and put it back
once you get the dogs to lick it instead of trying to bite it, it seems to do the job just fine. I just walk with it in my hand with the cap off. it can get mushy, but I dont really twist the product out (its not like chapstick) so the doggies can' get a bite out of it. If you held 4 thick dry erase markers together, thats about the thickness and height of it (the pictures had no scale so I didn't know how 'big' it was) but will likely have lots of licks with it. My advice is to simply stick it in the fridge until you are ready to use it, as it does tend to start getting 'soft' then put it back when you are done training fido.

My dog likes it
I work at a doggie day care so trying new treats and tricks is fun for me. I think this product would be great for someone who hates to carry treats in their pockets or doesn't want to use a treat bag as my staff do. It can hang around your neck and you can pull it out for rewarding good behavior. My dogs liked the run away frank flavor. Cute name. I tried making something like this out of camping tooth paste tubes. This is much easier than my blending then stuffing the tube. Try it. It's fun to mix it up in your training. Just remember. THOUSANDS of studies every year PROVE conclusively that reward based training lasts longer (less need for retraining later), creates a safer dog and causes less future problems that Cesar style or punishment based training. Get with the science and start rewarding!! Punishment and confrontation make good TV but its just TV for goodness sake.

it will probably satisfy your less finicky pups
This is a very convenient treat to have on hand if you don't want to carry messy treats in a pouch or your pocket, but for my dogs at least, it's no substitute for a high value reward. Don't expect to train any new behaviors with this one, but if you're just reinforcing old tricks, it will probably satisfy your less finicky pups! Just be prepared for some of them to try to take a bite instead of licking. It DOES last forever, too! I've been using it on and off for months now, and I can't tell that any of it is gone. That's a big plus!

"No go" said my dogs
My dogs refused to use this. It is sitting on a shelf.

Be careful if your dog has a sensitive stomach
This was suggested by a dog trainer, and I'm sure it's great for many dogs. My pup was pretty receptive to it, and it's very convenient to carry around. However, he had some intestinal issues after. He has a sensitive stomach, so this is not for him. As I said, might work well for many dogs, but just a heads up if your dog has stomach issues.

Great Idea
Good idea. I feel bad giving my dog treats all the time. I feel like I am setting him up for diabetes when I give him food at times other than at his feeding time. This made me feel a bit better about it...I do wish the lid was a screw on lid.The reason why I would buy this again is that it is handy to have when you don't want to handle a bunch of dog treats. Sometimes I don't want to handle the treats, so this stick is a quick grab and go.

Unique training tool
Great idea, dogs are very interested in it but not as much as I expected. The bottom of the one I received wouldn't turn but I believe it is supposed to work like a chapstick tube. Company refunded but I'll likely try again with a different flavor. I'd recommend but only to add variety to your training sessions.

Easy to use. Pup loves.
These came highly recommended by a coworker. My dog loves it. I am using it for training on walks in the cold. We live where it gets really cold. You need warm mittens on outside. On our quick, brisk walks- I wanted to be able to reward the pup for walking nicely and “leave it”. This is great for that. So easy to carry with the string and pop the cap off. All while keeping my hands warmly in my mitts. Pup seems to love it, but she’s not picky.

Had such promise but my dogs don't love this flavour
My dogs like the taste but not enough to aid their training. They do not see it as a reward good enough to bother with while we are outside nor will they be tempted enough to follow it to curb a behaviour.

My three dogs like it but all end up trying to bite it ...
Normally I use the roller ball treat stick but thought I would try this despite it being quite expensive but presumably it would last longer than the roller ball treat stick. My three dogs like it but all end up trying to bite it instead, which they do not do with the rollerball stick. Glad I tried it but regret paying so much, so will stick with the roller ball. I think the rollerball works because the dog can feel the ball rolling and doesn't find the need to bite it for some reason.

Rubbish
Awful full of rubbish and too much salt, nor was my dog interested in it! Waste of money
