Must have for everyone! (Especially EMS/Security)
For being metal pen is lightweight in the pocket but still very solid when in use. Writing is very smooth on paper and even on nitrile gloves when jotting down patient vitals. Grip is just ok. Comfortable to write with. There are grooves and some stippling but still kind of slick. Cap can unscrew to adjust where the pocket clip is in relation to the bolt action operation. Depending on type of pocket itโs kept in this will have to be adjusted as the bolt can get snagged. Just make sure cap is very tightly put back on. I have not yet had to use the glass breaker option but seems solid along with build of the rest of the pen so Iโm confident it would get the job done. Best value in tactical pens on Amazon. Price is good and quality is even better.

This is a great pen. It holds Pilot Frixion ink refills and has a great weight and feel.
I love this pen. It has a nice size, great weight, well constructed, true stainless steel. The grip is much better than it may seem at first glance. It accepts Pilot Frixion ink refills, all sizes. 0.5, 0.7, and 1.0 mm refillables. It is roughly the same size as your normal pen, but because of the weight of the stainless steel, it rests much more comfortably in your hand. When you hold it, you actually feel like you're writing with something with quality and not just a cheap plastic pen. That all said, I do love the pen. However, I've bought two of these, but had to replace one and then opted out of keeping the second one. This is only because of the ink that came with the pen had been slightly depleted and was dry. I wasn't sure if I couldn't get the ball rolling in the refill or if it really was just that dry, but it happened twice in a row and from the first pen I bought to the second pen, the first came with the ink in place, an additional refill, and a second tip that will erase, assuming you're using Frixion ink. The functionality of the pen is as expected, but I have to say that I really enjoy the mechanism that retracts the pen tip into the body of the pen. For some reason, once you get comfortable with the motion, a regular clicking pen just feels inadequate. If you want a nice pen that isn't completely overdone, this will last you until you lose it. Stainless steel, in my opinion, is better than aluminum, and I prefer it to titanium just because of the cost. Titanium is stronger and lighter than stainless steel, but because of its composition, it's significantly harder to work with, which is why it's much more expensive. Aluminum won't hold up as long as stainless steel will and the weight just isn't there.

Pen good, ink baaad.
The pen is sturdy, well built, and simple to strip down and clean. Why clean? Well, after the first ink cartridge stopped working, I loaded the second, which leaked, badly. Parker quinkflow inserts didn't fit well. The ball tip has to be forced through. Pulled a generic, same shape one from POS pen I had, and it fits. Going to keep looking for a proper refill. Pen great, ink sucks. *update* After wrestling with different generic pen refills, and having several leak (the refill separates where the barrel meets the end, likely from when I close the pen. It closes pretty hard.) , I purchased some Fisher Space Pen refills. The tips did not go through the tip of the pen. Couldn't even force it. Luckily I had a drill press and an xy vise. A couple of different drill bit sizes and the space pen inserts work wonderfully. I use this pen every day at work, and carry it with me everywhere. No further leak problems after several months and a lot of abuse.

REVIEW and GEL INK replacement suggestion
Iโve had my SmootherPro Bolt-Action Pen for a few days now and want to add my initial short-term review on it. As suggested by others here, Iโve added thread-lock to the pen to help prevent the lost of components. I also added a tiny drop of fine oil to the bolt mechanism and this has significantly improved the smoothness of the bolt action which initially was a bit gritty out of the box. I can not speak on its โtacticalโ qualities, or about the tungsten tip, except to say that it is pointy, and that I am confident that either ends of the pen could do serious damage to a human. In my experimenting, I have found an excellent gel ink refill to replace the original ball-point refill. More on that later. Pros: - The pen appears sturdy and feels good in the hand. It is 14.2 cm long, by 12mm wide. - It has a nice balanced weight. The aluminum body has some heft, but not overly heavy. - Nicely finished in a semi-matte black paint. - No hot/sharp edges except a little edgy-ness to the L-shaped bolt hole, but this doesnโt get in the way or make it less fidgetable for me. - Bolt-action satisfies my fidgeting nature. - None to little rattling when shaken. - Good value and a fair price at ~ $14. Cons: - The clip is ok, and does not have sharp edges, but is on the inexpensive side. - Original ball-point ink refills (2) that came with the pens are also ok. Nothing to write home about. - Not necessarily a con, but the bolt-action is not silent. There is a nice positive click when using it after it is oiled and broken in. - I wish the Parker refills would fit without having to sand the end caps - even though this was easily accomplished. Maybe this was just an issue on my pen sample? See below. One suggestion for those of you who may prefer GEL ink over ball-point is the Parker QUINK GEL refills. I bought the Black Medium 0.7 size and these can be bought from your favorite office-supplies store, or here on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/PARKER-QUINK-Ballpoint-Refills-Medium/dp/B001AFB6YI/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=parker+quink+gel+black&qid=1582061529&sr=8-2 Note: The QUINK GEL refill is just a smidgen wider at the end cap compared to the original refills. 5.9 vs. 5.7mm. You may need to, as I did, simply use fine sandpaper and very lightly sand the black plastic end cap of the QUINK GEL refill to make it fit properly in your pen. This same QUINK GEL refill also fits perfectly in my Parker Jotter ball-point pen, too with no sanding. Overall, I am enjoying my SmootherPro Bolt-action Pen. It is a good writing instrument with my preferred GEL ink replacement, sturdily built, suits my fidgetability, and comes at a relatively inexpensive price point. I would recommend this bolt-action pen to my budget-conscious friends and family. I hope this review and photos has been of some help to you.

Modification for 'Space Pen' refills drill the tip with a #37,13/125", drill bit
Nice pen, holds up well, and the action is firm when set. The pocket clip is heavy duty and can be removed to bend back into shape if sprung. The grip works well for me. If you use 'Space Pen' refills then you will need to drill the tip with a #37,13/125 inches, drill bit. That is a me problem because standard refills fit fine.

Solid build. Smooth/short bolt action. But ink leaks after just 3 days of use.
The build quality is solid, and the weight/balance feels comfortable. It is a little thicker than most, but I was looking for a pen with a bit more heft to go into my chef coat sleeve pocket. My only note on the build is the bolt action is very smooth and short. It is not really an issue, because that seems to be their intention with this design, so it functions exactly as they intended it to function. If you are looking for a bolt action pen that has a satisfying click with a long travel then this is not the pen for you. The bolt travel is less than half an inch and it doesn't lock into the protracted position in a tactile manner. The clip seems to have been an afterthought. When playing with the pen, or spinning it on your fingers, the tungsten tip unthreads itself. The travel on the threading isn't quite enough to compensate for the clip and only stays secured when the clip is removed. Now the biggest issue isn't the build quality of the pen, it is the ink cartridge. Which LEAKED EVERYWHERE ONLY 3 DAYS AFTER PURCHASE! I can attest to any of their other pens but clearly, with this model, you get what you pay for. It is cheap and so is the ink inside of it. Luckily you can replace their cheap cartridge with a Uniball Jetstream SXR600-07 and it fits in there perfectly.

Best of the best
This is my "daily driver", and I have tried a lot of pens! It's comfortable, sturdy, attractive without making a statement, and appropriately priced. Since the body is all aluminum, I'm not concerned about any pieces breaking. The bolt is sturdy as well. The spring is provided by the refill, so that can break without affecting the pen. Both ends of the pen can be unscrewed to remove them. The threading on the screws is very precise, so they're not too tight, but I also don't feel like they'll loosen accidentally. Removing the top let's you take off the clip if you prefer the pen without it. The clip is big enough to be comfortable and roomy, but without adding too much bulk. The bottom is removed to replace the refill. I use SPR4 Fisher Space Pen refills in this pen. They provide smooth writing, which is a great complement and a complete package to a great pen body. Note that the pen comes with a spring, but the SPR4 refills don't. So if something happens to your spring, you'll need to get another one. Fortunately, it uses the same size and shape as most other pens, so you can just pirate one from the closest $0.29 pen you find. I paid full price for this pen. I hope you found this review useful. What a solid pen!
So I am very much enjoying this pen. Its solid. Nice and weighted well and has a good feel in the hand. Only thing like some other have said the ink that came in the pen was dead day 1. Otherwise the back up one is doing well so far.

Good EDC pen
Feels good in the hand, not too big. Writes well and can accept a wide range of refills. I did put just a small dab of super glue on the threads to keep the tungsten tip on as it kept coming loose. Over all a really nice EDC pen

Heavy, unbalanced, but decent
The frame is aluminum and light, but the actual bolt block in the back of the pen is made of something quite heavy, throwing off the weight balance. Feels a bit clumsy to write with. Still, good build quality and seems like a fair cost. Could do with a lighter bolt, or at least counterweighting in front.
