Sylvania SDVD8738 7 Inch Dual Screen Portable DVD Player

Got this in before the expected delivery date. They was just like they was supposed to be. Got one set in and wasnt working right. Contacted the seller and they sent another one immediately. Works great

The only problem I experienced with this unit was the mounting was very cheap. But what should I expect the price was cheap. I don't use them as much since they do not hold the screens very secure. The player and sound work great and with a little work I think anyone could improve the mounting holders for the headrest. Unit does work good and there is little to no distortion and jarring of normal road conditions does not seem to affect the performance either. All in all I would recommend this to other people.

Overall this set of DVD Players is great. They hook on to the back of our truck's headrests well and stay where I set them. The sound is plenty loud for my kids to hear (and I have a loud dual exhaust). The things I don't like about this product is the wires that stick out of the screens- they are long and hard to stow away or 'hide' which makes them easy to disconnect from the screens when the kids are getting in and out of the truck's back seat the other thing is that only one of the screens control the play/controls option which doesn't work well when I have only my younger daughter with me (she can't reach/control the tv settings).

What can I say...it works. I struggled with the headrest straps for a little while. But i am a little clumsy sometimes. Like I said, it works. It plays movies and keeps the kids quiet. The remote is nice so we don't have to start at the beginning of the movie every time we get in the car.

We take 5 - 6 four hour round trips yearly and this set worked fine for about a year, then one of the players stopped working. We cleaned it and it still didn't work. So, less than 100 hours of play time and its now in the trash.

We decided to purchase this item for our 2yr old son. he doesn't do very well in the car and we had plans to visit my family who live 3hrs away. our lap top doesn't last long enough to play a whole movie so he would get mad, so this dvd player is amazing! plus, when our 5 month old son gets old enough, the dual screen will definetly come in-handy:) very happy with this purchase!

We purchased this for a long road trip and were VERY disappointed. We did read the reviews and were leary, but thought we'd give it a try. First we had to design alternate straps to hold the screens in place. The ones which came w/ the screens did not work w/ our seats (have a mini van - and you'd think they'd work with this type of vehicle). Our boys got to view ONE movie on it and then it broke! We were in the middle of a 15 hour drive and made an emergency stop at a WalMart to buy a new single screen unit which got us thru the trip. My husband even thought there was a hot electrical smell in the car before it broke. Now were are thinking it was from the player. DO NOT BUY IT.

Tried hanging these in my truck. I have had previous DVD players hanging for the back seat, but the straps provided with this set were ridiculous. they were flimsy and didnt hold the DVD players upright well or even let the DVD player stay in the strap. They are two small straps going diagonal and 2 going vertical across the front. But nothing holding the sides in. so every time the kids got in and out the DVD player would start sliding thru the gaps. If not careful they would fall out of the truck and on to the ground. And teh straps covered the area for opening and closing the DVD player to change DVDs. Just a big headache. I tried buying velcro to help hold them against the headrest so they wouldnt slip. That didnt work for too long as the heat from teh summer just melted the glue and the velcro didnt hold. Wouldnt have bought them if I had known I cant use them in a vehicle

I purchased this product for a long road trip so that my kids would be entertained. The product was delivered in a very timely manner by Amazon. However, it did not work. I tried more than 20 DVD's and it kept saying "no disc". Although we managed to get one DVD working eventually, the next day that DVD too could not be read by the machine. I have returned the product to Amazon and received a refund.

Not sure how companies can sell this kind of junk while knowing the consumer is getting shafted. I should have taken the other reviewers word for it. It works once or twice and will then, predictably, fail and be unable to read DVDs. Sylvania is permanently on my do-not-buy-this-first-class-rubbish list.
