Dash Fresh Pop Popcorn Maker, 16-Cup Hot Air Popper, Red

I gave this 5 stars because it does what it advertises, it is quick, one heaping measuring cup fills a 5-quart mixing bowl with popcorn, it is easy to fill, clean up takes about 5 seconds, its compact, and the price is right. Some comments. Be careful because it is quite hot after use, as warned in the instructions. I mention this, because one does not expect a thin plastic item to be that hot. When all the corn is popped, I turn off the button and go about adding butter and some salt to the popcorn then sit and enjoy it. Later I come back for my 5 second clean up. It is inefficient to melt the butter in the measuring cup, I use a paper bowl in the micro, easy and no clean up. I have been on a low carb diet for a year, and this is my go-to snack. Use it about every two days. It does shoot some popped and unpopped corn around the countertop, but I don’t find it to be bothersome. There is only one item that slightly bothers me, and that is the two plastic clips that attach the plastic top to the base. They seem to be somewhat fragile. And therefore, I am careful when I attach the top to the base. One year update: I have used this popcorn maker 3 times a week for over a year, and it still works well. However, the weak part of the unit as I mentioned before is the plastic clips/prongs that attach the lid to the base. Although I took great care, eventually all the prongs broke off. The lid can still rest on the base, but there is a definite possibility that the lid might fall off during the popping. I simply placed a heavy weight in the measuring cup unit in the lid, and I continue to keep popping corn. I still highly recommend it because of its ease of use and cleanup and low price. I see no problem in buying a new unit once a year if desired, but for now I am happy with my jury-rigged solution. Note: As I mentioned before, popcorn is the only snack I allow myself; lost 40 pounds so far.

Love it as much as I love popcorn and movies! Really easy to use and it pops every kernel. The butter warmers nice but I don’t think it melts well. Overall a great bargain for fresh and hot popcorn! Super easy to clean and I love the oil free healthy food. It’s portable and functional.

No more burnt popcorn!!! Love this thing! It makes perfect air popped popcorn each time. It's a little loud, but it's so easy to use and the popcorn comes out perfect each time! I have of course the microwave bowl... like are we still heating up plastic and then eating out of it? NO! So i got rid of it. Plus it's so easy to burn the popcorn in it. I also have a stand alone electric popper - with the rotating arm, but again - easy to burn the popcorn AND the popcorn isn't light a fluffy cause it's not air popped. But this little gadget... I saw my Aunt and Uncle had one and decided to buy one for myself. I love it! Also did I mention no more burnt popcorn! My only complaint is it's a little loud (noticeably louder than the microwave) but it pops a bowl so fast, by the time I turn it on, it's time to turn it off. Small improvements could be an auto off feature - once all the cornels have popped it could just shut off and as previously mentioned it's a little loud.

So far so good. I've only used it 3 times but it seems to be fantastic. So much better than my microwave one. This pops the popcorn into nice fluffy pieces. Yes it does spit out some unopened ones but I found if I preheat it for 1 min, turn it off then add popcorn and turn back on it works better. For the money it is great. Doesnt require one drop off oil, not 1 burned piece. I store it back in the box. Not the greatest buy it is tall and I dont have tall space to store things. If I take it apart I'm concerned the top piece will get lost like my last one. That makes it not useable without it. I have not tried melting butter. I think it would make a mess. Plus I'm on weight watchers.

I’ve been using this popcorn maker for a while. I like the design, it doesn’t take up much counter space, and it’s convenient for making popcorn quickly without oil. However, it didn’t fully meet my expectations. Some kernels tend to fly out during popping, and quite a few unpopped kernels are sometimes left behind. The popcorn also comes out a little dry for my taste, so I usually need to add butter or oil afterward. The built-in butter melting tray is a nice idea, but I didn’t find it very useful. Overall, it does the job, but I expected better performance for the price.

Easy to use and no cleaning is necessary. I bought this back in December, and while it’s been great since then.. I am a little disappointed. I was expecting it to last longer than 7 months. The function is good.. only now it doesn’t get hot enough to pop the popcorn.

As soon as it was turned it I could smell burning. I left it for another minute and then it started smoking and turned off. Sent back for a refund. Do not buy

I have had a few hot air popcorn makers during my lifetime. Traditionally, I would make the family popcorn on the stove, using a high smoke point oil. It always turned out great. Having more concerns for unnecessary calories, I now prefer hot air popping. The hot air popper we've had for years, but rarely used, wasn't cutting it anymore, or should I say, popping it. It was time to buy a new one, so I turned to the convenience of Amazon shopping, where I found a prime day deal on the Dash hot air popcorn maker. I am being totally honest when I say, it worked great. I used regular sized kernels as suggested, as the instructions claim regular size produces more fully popped kernels. I only lost three kernels, out of sixteen fully popped cups. Two popped into the bowl, being flushed out with large popping pieces, and the last unpopped kernel, remained in the machine. I used an 11" diameter bowl and did not lose a single fly out one, to the countertop or floor. All kernels popped big and fluffy. I was totally impressed. I didn't use the measuring cup/butter melter, just in case this popper proved to be less than its expectation, and returned. The machine does come with a manufacturer's two year warranty. Hopefully it lasts for many years to come. When and if it does require replacing, I would definitely purchase it again. Hope this information was helpful.

This is very cool, it make the popcorns ready in 2 mins. Good thing no Oil needed just hot air. Smells great when the popcorns are ready.
