Log Home Secrets of Success: An Insider's Guide to Making Your Dream Home a Reality

I live in an old hybrid Log/Stick built home currently undergoing log restoration and refurbishing. My contractor has been doing this for 50+ years but sometimes uses terms or throws out ideas for the house that I'm not really up on. This book is good for kind of giving the "down and dirty" on log homes. I'm also using it for ideas on house expansion.

This book covers everything. I never thought to think about what lifestyle I want to live. How isolated do I want to be? What view do I want? How removed from services do I want to be? Do I want to be in a resort community or on my own? I'm in the beginning thought stages and this book is a wealth of information.

Read this book with the knowledge that we will be building a log cabin in the mountains. The book was very helpful with hints and ideas for the homeowner. Bringing many items forward that we never thought of! Great buy if you are going to build, or having a log cabin built,

when you want to buy or build a loghome, this is the book to have. It is not about the actual building process and technique.
