The Kenyan Boys Choir are a group of 25 school boys from various backgrounds and tribes who have been given the chance by their inspirational founder Joseph Muyale for a better life through their magical music. They were invited to perform at US president Barack Obama's inauguration ceremony where their stunning and uplifting music of joy and hope brought them to the attention of the world. The Spirit of Africa, their 2009 debut album, features traditional and contemporary songs from around Africa including 'Homeless', 'Nkosi Sikelel'l Afrika', 'Jambo Bwana' and is guaranteed to transport you to a land of epic sun drenched savannahs, vibrant colors, big smiles, warmth and hope. Wonderful product--poor shipping...
LOVED the product!! I've seen them perform live, which was such a treat, and this brought back splendid memories. It's so authentic to their Kenyan culture! The only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars was because when the product arrived to my house, the CD was cracked. The product still works, but it just kind of stinks to have a crack in the case! However, with that in mind, I would still most definitely recommend this to anyone who is interested! It's a beautiful mix of pop, Christian, and Kenyan culture.

A must get, if you can find it. This needs to be republished please! (or whatever the word is)
This is all that I listen to, for months now. There are so many nuances in this music. I LOVE it. Everyone I have gotten to listen to it LOVES it.It makes me sad that there are no lyrics, no explanations of the songs. All I can do is try to say your words the best I know how. When I get in a stressful situation, I just sink back into your music that is now running through my mind.Thank you, thank you, thank you for recording this amazingly awesomely beautiful album/cd.

Great harmony
The texture in this music is incredible. And it's all acapello (sp ?). You don't have to understand the notes to hear the deep harmony.

Amazing harmonies
We were inspired by African music during a vacation to Kenya in October 2013. The sounds of Africa enhance the grandeur of the country. All the tracks on this collection are are what we hoped; I close my eyes and can remember all I've seen.

Great singing but.....Universal have not helped
This is a tremendously talented young choir and well disciplined. The material chosen varied and some of the arrangements were far too commercial and Euro-Americanised. Universal are probably shot themselves in the foot here! 'Jambo' is heard as a theme in the Mombassa hotels! This is a problem affecting a lot of good performers in Africa that are trying to catch the markets outside their continent. The fact, Africa has art music and composers that will match any outside the continent is not conveyed on this album. Congrats to Fred Onovwerosuoke on his exceptional arrangements that DO share the Spirit of Africa.

LOVELY music.
It had the song I was looking for, which is wonderful. GREAT service- - - -arrived quickly; I have patience, but many don`t. Good price, reasonable shipping cost- - - -the only thing I did NOT like was "Amazon`s" attempt to sign me up to their "Prime" program, which they did without my consent once and billed me monthly for, some years back. Life was exceedingly difficult then so I did not catch on to this for awhile. They refunded most of the fees, except the initial one, which is galling because I essentially had to pay for something I neither wanted nor asked for. but that is an "Amazon" problem, NOT connected with THIS seller!
