Pro-Stat Concentrated Liquid Protein Medical Food - Citrus Splash, 30 Fl Oz Bottle

This is a great product if you're going to have a surgical procedure or similar and have to fast a day before. Two days before the procedure, I had 2 doses of the product to keep my protein levels up. Doses are small, easy to swallow, refrigeration helps. Taste is OK. **Caution: Check with your doctor before using this product before a procedure!**

This tastes better than I thought it would! I use 1oz medicine cups to pour it in my 16oz bottle of water (after drinking a little out to make room) shake it up really good and there’s a slight citrus almost tropical taste. The liquid is thick and sticky so I recommend wiping off the bottle after each use to prevent drips and stickiness. I’m a variation patient who since surgery I just can’t tolerate protein shakes. I used to like them pre surgery. I tried the pre packaged 1oz “fuel” and wasn’t impressed but this has saved me for sure when it comes to getting my protein in, especially since I mix it in my water!

This product tastes like orange

Overall, a good &flavorful product. Compared to Liqticel , it has a little less volume & slightly less protein. The upside to the Prostat line is the availability of flavors not offered with Liquicel.

I had a necrosis fastiitis last November. Had emergency surgery and spent 5 weeks in the hospital with a wound vac on what ended up being a partial vulvectomy. Not only did I have to learn how to walk again....but I had to adjust to my an awkwardness in urinating. Enuf about that! I want everyone to know that this product ....I use the citrus flavor....2 oz taken twice daily for several months was a God send. I am still taking a shot a day just to keep the protein in my system to keep my skin in a a constant state of repair. The month prior to that I had had a Whipple procedure for pancreatic cancer. Soooo....my 'inards' have been stirred up. I cannot say enough about the results from this product. I had excellent medical care and have had outstanding followup. I now have my soninlaw, who recently was diagnosed with IPF, on this product. I feel that while IPF is not cureable, what could be a better wound healer than protein feeding compromized skin. This has all been done under doctor's care. I do not mix it. I put it in a shot glass and sling it back. Yes, it is thick and quite tart...but it works.

Good for protein

One can only assume it would be much worse tasting if they didn’t flood it full of horrific artificial flavorings. I have had three flavors and the citrus is the best I’ve had so far. That is a very low bar. But if you need a large dose of consistent and convenient high quality protein, it’s hard to beat. I’m recovering from some horrific wounds and my doctors agree it is very much helping my healing.

I had gastric bypass 20 years ago, so liquid protein is a must. This brand is what my surgeon recommended 20 years ago, and I still use it to this day. My only complaint is the sugar. It's a bit too much for my stomach. I usually get ther sugar free one, but it wasn't available this time. The taste is OK. The grape is much better.
