It does what it is made for

I have used these for potatoes which is the main thing I peel. They are probably not as easy to use as my other ones but there are a couple of good points about them that make me give them 4-stars. The first is that these can do a really fine peel cut (albeit slower than a normal cut) which my previous peeler couldn't do. And second the points on the ends of these are excellent for getting the potato eyes out. Other than that these are probably harder to use than my previous peeler, and the peel gets stuck in the blade more too during peeling. Maybe with more peeling though I will get better at using these.

This is a good quality product by a well known manufacturer. In use it did not disappoint. It is well made, nicely balanced and has a good feel in the hand. I was previously using a side peeler (see photo) with a flexible cutter, but this is fixed and flat facing. You could therefore also use it to core apples. At first this felt a bit strange but I soon got used to it and actually prefer it. I am a very keen cook and I have every belief that this little peeler will serve me well. There are two in the pack which is useful as these things have a habit of accidentally getting thrown away with the peelings. All in all- recommended.

Not sharp as it claims. The cutter is poor and does not swivel. It takes more effort to peel and it wastes because the peeling is excessive in comparison with my previous peeler.

One broke after about a week

This is a set of 2 excellent peelers - comfortable to hold, sharp and very effective. I'm extremely pleased with these ... it's the little things!!

Used Y-shaped peeler before switching to this one. Took a short while to get use to this new one as the hand need to turn 90 degree when peeling. The quality of this peeler is good, stainless steel and dishwasher safe. The pointy tip designed for cord removal. 2 blades opposite to each other allow peeling in opposite directions which is handy. Sharp blades. However, need to have a good control of your strength and blade angle if you want to get thin peel.

Like can openers, but not like can openers as they have evolved, a ubiquitous piece of kitchen kit. A good vegtable peeler is worth its weight in high quality stainless steel. Why 2 when one is all you can use at any time? 1. Why should I do all the spuds? Grad your own peeler, there just like mine! 2. Pack one for your self-catering trips. Why do some people think you can peel better with a knife? 3. I have been know to throw mine away with the peelings. Simple tool. Horrible job peeling but here is a friend to help your chores. Comfortable, I have been known to get blisters spud bashing. Easy to clean, dishwasher safe, bright and sparkly. So good they gave it twice.

Due oggetti apparentemente molto semplici ma allo stesso tempo sempre molto utili da avere nella propria cucina! Sono infatti molto semplici questi sbucciatori manuali, che in questo caso vengono venduti "stranamente" in coppia, ma allo stesso tempo posso assicurare che sono davvero ben fatti. Sono realizzati davvero bene come dicevo, una qualità che definirei quasi "premium", le lame sono in acciaio inossidabile di buona fattura e ben affilate, mentre il manico è realizzato sempre in acciaio tipo "spazzolato" con una finitura che a me personalmente piace parecchio e da quel non so che di "professionale". Dico stranamente invece eh perché solitamente quando si va ad acquistare un utensile del genere lo si acquista singolarmente, invece in questo set qua, come suggerisce la parola stessa "set", ne troviamo appunto due. Ovviamente si potrebbe dire tranquillamente "ma che me ne faccio di due??" Ebbene vi dirò, in alcuni casi ho trovato vantaggioso averne due, come quando uno dei due è impegnato da un altra persona oppure è sporco, oppure ancora nulla ci vieta di tenerne uno di scorta per un futuro utilizzo. Nell'utilizzo quotidiano sarò sincero, io preferisco molto più questo tipo di sbucciatore a quelli con manico e la lama posizionata orizzontalmente. Lo preferisco perché con questo utensile per pelare ho un maggiore controllo, riesco a tenere con una mano saldo l'ortaggio/frutto e con l'altra con facilità pelo che una meraviglia! Sono molto più veloce e personalmente mi ci trovo molto meglio. Un altra piccola chicca un po' "difficile" da notare è sicuramente la forma del manico, sembra un comune manico dritto, eppure posizionando l'utensile lateralmente si può notare che è leggermente curvato. È così prevalentemente per facilitare la presa ed il posizionamento della mano, questo infatti è uno dei motivi per cui trovo questo modello nello specifico davvero comodo da utilizzare! Hanno una presa secondo me davvero ottima. Oltre la forma ergonomica poi anche il peso del singolo utensile non è niente male, leggeri ma non troppo insomma, il che rende molto piacevole l'utilizzo. Essendo che in dotazione c'è ne sono 2 e considerando che il prezzo per la COPPIA è di 15 euro circa, il singolo sbucciatore è dato per 7,50€, che per la qualità e la praticità che possiedono secondo me è davvero un buonissimo prezzo! Sinceramente costano meno di quello che valgono e non mi sarei stupito se invece il SINGOLO sbucciatore fosse costato 15,00 euro. Probus quindi mi ha convinto, era un marchio che prima non conoscevo e che per quanto ho potuto testare e constatare pare davvero ottimo. Certo non si parla di prodotti professionali ma quasi sembra che lo siano! Mi sento quindi di consigliare questo ottimo set, ben affilato, ad un prezzo molto competitivo e molto ben realizzato!

Jolie finition à voir dans la durée !

I due pelapatate (o sbucciatori) di marca "PROBUS", arrivati ognuno ben protetto da un coprilame in plastica leggera e trasparente, sono in acciaio inossidabile di buona qualità testimoniato dall'incisione sulla lama "stainless steel". Il loro design è classico ed elegante, sono di colore argento, si adattano perfettamente a qualsiasi arredamento da cucina, sono piacevoli al tatto, ben costruiti, hanno una comoda impugnatura liscia, che permette una presa forte e salda. All'estremità superiore hanno un occhiello, anch'esso in acciaio inossidabile, per poterli appendere mentre all'estremità inferiore sono ben appuntiti. Ogni pelapatate pesa 70 grammi, è lungo 20 cm (occhiello compreso), il manico è lungo 11,7 cm circa, ha forma ovale (superiormente è 1,5 x 2,5 cm mentre inferiormente è 1 x 2 cm), le lame sono fisse, abbastanza affilate e ben angolate per facilitare il compito di pelare patate, carote, zucchine e tanto altro. Appena arrivati sono stati subito utilizzati da mia madre che ha pelato due belle patate (vedi video) per poi tagliarle e metterle al forno. Anch'io ho pelato carote, patate e zucchine per fare un bel minestrone (con aggiunta di cipolle, pomodori e sedano) e garantisco che entrambi pelano veramente bene, senza affaticare e senza stressare la mano e il polso. Per lavarli è facilissimo ... sotto acqua corrente in un paio di secondi tornano puliti. Fin adesso le lame continuano a tagliare benissimo, non ho notato alcuna alterazione, nè deformazione (forse ancora è troppo presto). Assegno 4 stelle ben meritate perchè mi sono piaciuti tantissimo, sono graziosi, eleganti maneggevoli e pelano benissimo, avendo lame ben angolate e perfettamente affilate ... mi riservo di assegnare 5 stelle se nel tempo continuano a comportarsi bene. Il loro prezzo lo ritengo adeguato alla qualità del prodotto (entrambi 14,99 euro a Giugno 2019 ossia quasi 7,50 euro ogni pelapatate).
