Bought this book as kind of a joke for my mom, who recently adopted a cat, but she said the information in it taught her things she never knew, despite having cats for decades. She insisted I read it, as I now have foster kittens, and I thought I "knew it all" as well. But I didn't! Entertaining and informative, and easy to just skip around to the chapter you'd like to read. (Doesn't have to be a "front to back" book.) Kudos!

I bought this book in preparation for adopting my first kitten. The book provided me with all sorts of information that I didn't know but needed to know about cats. It helped dictate my decisions for things like food, toys ,and keeping my condo safe for my new kitten. I did think it was a bit weird how they basically wrote it as an operation manual but it was clear so I can't complain too much.

Informative, accurate, and absolutely hilarious! Maybe not appropriate for children based on the "mating" illustration

This is our summer of kittens, and this is one of the books my son studied to learn all he could. Must've done the trick, because he is now our resident "Kitten Whisperer." He can tell when they are roughhousing and really fighting, when a cat is happy or annoyed, by the crook of their tails, noises they make, etc.

A great read for a new cat owner. Some of it seems a bit of overkill, but the style in which the book is written makes it so much fun to read!!

As a huge dog lover and owner of many dogs, I really enjoyed reading this book. I actually feel like I have a lot more knowledge about my dogs now, learned a lot. Very helpful

I have ordered pretty much all of these owners instruction manual books, including the bride, newlywed, cat, groom and baby books. All of the them have been gifts for others, and they all have enjoyed them. This one was ordered for my boyfriend a few months after we rescued a dog together, he enjoyed it. All of the books are absolutely hilarious and are a great gift for someone who has a humor side. Not only do they actually give good advice, and walk you through stages on the topic, they give it to you in a legit understanding way but with a comedian manor. Even if you get the book for someone who isn't much of a reader, the pictures and demonstration are pretty humorous. Would definitely recommend for anyone with has a funny side, and need a simple add on to make them laugh about things they are expecting or having in life.

I bought this as a gift for a first time dog parent & read through the whole book myself before gifting it. They were getting a lot of inaccurate, wives tale type "advice" from other people so I searched for something that was factual, not too "technical" to be overwhelming, & fun to read & I feel this book covered all that. It is not a "medical veterinary reference" type book as some of the reviewers seemed to expect? There are plenty of other books that cover that. This is a basic, but pretty well-rounded book that covers things that someone like me who's had fur babies for decades would know most of through years of experience & research, but it would be good to keep around for reference, also. The "tech speak" tongue in cheek theme was not overwhelming or obnoxious in my opinion it was kinda cute, the animations are adorable.

For the price of this book, I was expecting an A4 manual to arrive, so I was slightly put out to find a book less than an A5 size. Once I opened the book, that is where the disappointment stopped. The book is absolutely fantastic. I read it cover to cover over the period of two nights and now have it at my disposal to dip in and out of as needed.I am not at all new to cats, but it is some 20 years since I have had kittens running around the house, so I thought a refresher book would be a good idea before I welcome two little fluffballs into my life again. With having a lot of adult cat experience, I could tell straight away this is a quality book containing trustworthy and accurate information.The style of the book is at times hilarious and for the most part, smile-provoking. The book really has been written like an instruction manual for a piece of hardware and has an entertainment value to it. Titles like 'Diagram and Parts List, basic programming, fuel requirements, exterior maintenance are amusing, but wait until you see the diagrams throughout, they are hilarious.Fun aside, though, it is a thoroughly informative book that leaves nothing to chance and no stone unturned. It is jam-packed with all the information you need to know in order to welcome a kitten or adult cat into your life and learn all you need to know to keep them safe and nurture them throughout their lives.It's not a read once, file away type book; it will be handy as a superb reference manual for many years to come. Well worth the £12 price point.

Cute little book for any cat owner

The book itself is entertaining but it has arrived with the cover dirty and grubby looking, hoping I'll be able to clean it when I get home but also feel like I shouldn't have to clean something new which I have just bought.
