My wife knew my front bag was on its last legs and got me this as a gift to replace it. I love her to death for thinking of me and how much I love my bike and biking, but, as it turns out, this was not the right bag for me, despite being a spectacular bag for... somebody else! Are you heading into the outback? Going to bicycle the Pacific Crest Bike Trail (yes, that exists!) or the Oregon Timber Trail (which you may or may not survive intact...)? YES, this is the pack for you. Able to hold a ton of gear without interfering with your wheel or steerage, waterproof as all get out (OK, I would not take it dive-biking, if that even exists...) and big enough to take your 35 lb. maine coon cat named "Tiny" along with you (though I'm not sure he could breathe...), well, look no further! Are you not doing any of that? Are you just looking for a bag for easy and waterproof storage for your day-to-day commute that can attach to handlebars or panniers? Do you want easy access, a la a zipper or other top-side closure? That isn't this beast. And... are you a complete newb unfamiliar with how bags like this roll up and close? Also maybe not so much for you. How do I know that? I am a complete newb to bags like this. I figured out how to mount it correctly, despite the horrifying directions (yeah, it's just that one page placard you see in this listing, that's IT). But then, wait, how do I close the ends? Did I just buy an open-ended torpedo harness? Wait, OK, folding it up like a christmas present... OK that seems to work, but I don't see it being waterproof in any way. And, it's suppose to be 2 widths or more and that just won't work... OK, Mrs. Google, help me out! Ohhhhhh... you just roll the ends over and over and then clasp them when you have what you want. OK, I get it. I'm sure that you lumberjacks out there are laughing at me right now. There's some sort of stiffening strip attached to one side of the opening... not sure if that is rolled toward the inside or outside or if it matters at all. Newb. Still, I can't even imagine trying to unroll this to just get my iPhone out and then rolling it back up when I'm done, as I might do 10 or 15 times in a long ride. I also can't imagine detaching this from the handlebars to take into a restaurant when I stop for lunch. Nope, I need a satchel and I think RockBros has some really great ones. This just isn't that. Sorry, dear.

The first thing that will shock you about this bag is how gigantic it is. Seriously, before I had it installed I was sure it wouldn't fit in the space between the handlebar and the wheel - Hell, on first inspection I thought they had delivered a small sleeping bag by mistake. However, with the help of the belts and the very versatile foldable fabric, its size can be reduced quite a good deal. Speaking of versatility, I'm using it on a gravel bike with drop bars and I'm getting *a lot* more storage space than I was expecting I would; you don't necessarily need to have flat bars to make full use of the thing. I'm especially glad at how sturdy the fabric and the overall build feels, and how many fixing points there are - once it's properly installed it feels solidly stuck in place. Finally, it also comes with a few extra belts so you can tie up stuff outside of the bag if you fill it up, which is a very nice touch. The only downsides I can think of are: 1_ The instruction manual is borderline useless, it's so badly explained it's almost detrimental when installing the bag. 2_ I would've appreciated a zipper on the upper side to easily access the contents. As it is, you can only take out/put in stuff through the sides, and that can get somewhat uncomfortable depending on your handlebars and the amount of content in the bag. It's still easier than you might think (especially with drop bars), but it's not ideal.

Went on a week long bike tour using this bag. Fit just fine on my handlebar, but I wasn't limited on space with a flat bar. The bag width is adjustable with the amount you pack in it. It's not the type of bag you want to be getting into multiple times a day - just once at the end of the preferably. I left mine on my bike each day, but it can be taken off with a minute or two (5 strap points). Quality item at a great price. Installation instructions could be better, but the process is straight forward and can't be screwed up.

Given price, build quality, and capacity, this bag is a pretty good buy. I have no intention of using this for trips in rough terrain nor in wet weather, so I can't comment for those uses. I bought this for short tours (3 days, 150-200 mi) mostly on asphalt with short stretches of gravel using a bicycle that cannot accommodate front racks, hence cannot take panniers. This bag is true to its advertised 14 liter capacity, I am able to fit a CPAP, laptop, A-Bus U-Lock, sandals, and assorted clothing with room to spare. The strap mount system is solid, holding everything in place, preventing the bag from swaying. It comes with foam spacers that makes it easy to fully grasp the handlebar. It carries 25-30 lbs with no problem. Construction appears to be of good quality, but it's only been a few months since I bought these, so it remains to be seen how durable they will be for the long run. For $60, I haven't regretted this purchase.

I purchased this item as part of my outfitting for a week long Boy Scout biking and camping event where we had to carry all our food and equipment. I found this bag to be an excellent storage location for my one man tent and some of my additional gear. I liked that this bag hangs below the bars so other accessories mounted above the handlebars (light and iphone holder) are not covered or in the way. I also like how the closures on the ends allow you to adjust the width of the bag to accommodate the contents. Meaning, if you’ve only got a half full bag you can roll up the ends to make it narrower on your handlebars. We did have rain on one occasion and went along several muddy trails and I never had any issues with wet equipment. My son who also has this bag took a decent spill on concrete and while this did slightly abrade the bag, it didn’t lose any functionality or tear a hole in the material so it seems somewhat durable. I will say it’s a bit tricky to get the bag attached because you’ll have to route the mounting straps around cables and that takes some time and patience but any bag strapped to the handlebars will have this issue. I would certainly buy this bag again and think it is very useful when bike camping.

The bag mounted to my mountain bike pretty easily and had plenty of room, but my fork didn't have enough travel and the bag hit my wheel on small drops like going down a curb. It would have never worked on the trail so I had to return it.

This bag is great for a few items to take on a front hanging bar-style bag. It has 2 open ends with buckle style closures and 2 straps for securing to the bar. There were some foam pieces to allow you to separate the bag from the bar which would keep the bag hanging lower but I did not use them. I was able to carry and extra set of cycling clothes, a pair of shoes for the evenings, shorts and base layers for the evening as well as arm warmers and knee warmers. All of this compressed to fit between the bars and secured to the top of the drop bars with no issues. It is fully waterproof as I can now attest since I was in a torrential downpour for over an hour and the contents were bone dry. The only issue I have with the product is the instructions in the package were awful. Personally I have experience with many of these products from working in some retail bike shops that sell the types of bags like this. So I knew what to do. But for a novice bike packer or traveler using it for touring, the instructions were not good. I would suggest either a video OR someone write some detailed instructions for setting up. Improper attachment could lead to a lot of issues not the least of which there could be an accident.

There are 3 types of buyers: 1) those who want the absolute best and are willing to pay a premium; 2) those who want a good value; and 3) those who want the cheapest product. I fall squarely into category No. 2. So far, this bag has exceeded expectations. I have used this on two trips so far. The last one was a 2 day 160 mile offroad trek in 30-40 rain/slush/snow. The bag kept my gear dry and stayed put. It did exactly what I needed at a fraction of the cost of the big name brand bags. Are the name brands "better"? Maybe, I don't know. But for the price of this product, I am very satisfied. Straps are very intuitive. Love the shock cord on the front. Seams are well sewn. Only minor quibble is that the loops for the straps seem stressed when the bag is loaded and tied on. No problems yet, but that is an area that caught my attention. I will update this review if I have any problems on that account. FWIW, I am a real reviewer, paid full price for the product, and am not being paid for the review.

This is a really well made piece of kit. Very sturdy and plenty of space. The instructions that come with it are useless, you will need to Google and fiddle to get it set up correctly. Once on though it is really well thought out and will be my main storage on extended bike camping trips.

Fairly simple to install. Is a great addition to my bikes storage. Definitely great quality material.

This bar bag worked well and hasn't failed yet. Could use a few easy access pockets instead of top elastic strap.

I bought this bag for rough trail bike packing. I’ve used it once on a short 16km trial ride. It’s been great. I carry my tent, fly, pegs and footprint in the bag with room to spare. I have my Helinox chair strapped to the outside. One thing that you really appreciate is how the bag keeps out the dust. It was brown by the time we were done but everything inside was immaculate. When I opened the package from Amazon, the bag looked like a maze of straps and chords. Watching the youtube videos definitely made the set up easier. It is a bit fiddly to take the bag on and off the bike. But that gives me confidence in how well it’s attached. I consider myself particularly luck to get this on sale. Having used it now, I would be prepared to pay full price for it.

Fits nicely between drop bars on Trek 520. I can fit my Sea to Summit Ultralight sleep mat, canvas ground sheet and tarp in this handlebar roll. Solid construction. Took it out on an overnighter with no issues. Great addition to my set-up.
