So far it works great. People tend to find it fascinating. It's the only electric lighter I know of at this time, that uses an arc instead of a coil. Electric lighters in general don't light your cigarettes quite as fast as a flame, but after awhile you get better at lighting it more quickly.I believe somewhere it's mentioned that it scratches easily. So it's a good idea not to keep it in your pocket with another item that may scratch it. The silver color and texture looks absolutely beautiful the moment you pull it out of the box. It's a sexy lighter. The weight and size feel good in your hand. Even flipping up the cap feels good, the amount of pressure it takes to flip it up is spot on.

While they laser is really cool, It makes a high pitched whistle noise and it the gap in which you insert whatever you want to light is very narrow. I tried lighting some candles with this and got wax all over it, I would assume lighting anything like cigarettes would be extremely difficult.

love it, no fuel needed ever and charges with my cell phone charger...months later no problems. very solid and looks cool. my friend liked it so much i had to get him one. neither of us smoke, but use it for outdoors / other lighter needs and it works well for that and holds a charge well even when not used for a good while. this product in my opinion could not possibly be improved.

1. It came with 2 cords for charging - one of which did not belong to the device at all. The one that fit looked like it was used.2. It makes a loud screeching noise when being used - makes me wonder if it is going to explode. ...3. It was intended to be a gift, but I could not in good faith give it to someone with those two issues above...

Works as advertised, so far. Nice feel and seems to be good quality when bought.Update: Worked a short time but was unable to re charge after battery got low, so it rates as junk and a definite DO NOT BUY..Unable to return so it becomes more Chinese Amazon junk to end up in the waste basket.

I have ordered three of these type of lighters recently because I was fascinated by the concept & I was looking for a lighter to use out on the river when in a boat that was truly windproof. All three worked iin that respect, but this particular one seemed to work best- the "arc" seemed to be stronger and the manufacturer knew so so they could place the electrodes a wee bit further apart allowing easir access to the "fire". It holds it's charge well, will light as many cigs as stated per charge & charges in about an hour from near dead. It's perfect for cigs only, it would be hard to light a cigar evenly with this and would deplete it's charge quickly trying to do many. the only drawback that I have is the weight- it is a little heavier than a standard zippo, but it works well as advertised & comes ot of the Firebird factory but not advertised as such so sells for a little less.

To any1 that said this wont work for a cigar. IT DOES! This lighter is awesome. No more spending money on wasting butane to fill a lighter, no more having to adjust the flame. This works very well.Made very solid. I just got it so I havent had to charge it yet so we will see once it dies n I gotta recharge if it still works or not but so far I am pleased with this purchase.

Purchase 2 so far. All arrived in working condition.Living in a cold climate, butane lighters left in the car fail to light until warmed.This has worked like a champ every time.I have not tried it yet on a large cigar, not sure if there would be enough area to the job.As an added bonus, it makes a high pitched sound which our cats hate. They perk up, then flee the room when in use.Would be interesting to hear how it affects dogs :)
