Handpainted RedTropical Lionfish Lion Fish Replica Wall Mount Decor Plaque 8"

I bought three of these in 3 different colors, but the pectoral fin on 2 of them broke off rather easily while unboxing them after a move (NOT when I unboxed them after ordering them). As such, I'm giving the 2 models that broke a 4-star review, and the third that didn't a 5-star review to reflect that. I feel a little bad about knocking off a star for the breakage because it was ultimately my fault, but at the same, the pectoral fin always felt fragile and could have easily been made with a sturdier build or with more support behind it to prevent this from happening so easily. This is, after all, the only time I've ever had something damaged in a move - and I'm pretty good at packing and unpacking things, having already moved 9 times as an adult. The break was easily fixed by gluing the fin back onto the fish though, so please don't let that dissuade you from getting these beautiful pieces! They were delivered to me intact, and with just a single nail they stay on the wall without ever falling off. The colors are beautiful and you can tell the artist responsible for these is very talented. I can't stress enough how great they look - their colors make them pop out without being tacky and even though they're obviously not meant to look exactly like a lion fish, they still look like a plausibly real fish and not like something out of someone's completely imaginary world. If you're on the fence about buying these, don't be. Just buy them, and buy 3 or more while you're at it!

Flat on the backside, otherwise, 3D. Hard acrylic plastic, but fragile and breakable I am sure, and has many semi- sharp points. Not for play by a toddler or under that age. But, aside from all of that, this is an exquisite replica. The hand painted job is incredible. It really looks like the real thing, and I know, because I have owned 2 lionfish before when I had my 100 gal. tank, although it seems ages ago now. Expensive, but worth the money. It is a beautiful addition to our ocean themed bathroom.

We purchased this lionfish as a decorum for our son's room, as he has an avid interest in marine life and especially fond of the lionfish. The lionfish is beautifully crafted, painted and lacquered; and is very realistic. However, a month after we hanged the lionfish on the wall, the pectoral fin detached. No one touched or handled the fish so the fin must have been poorly glued to the lionfish and eventually succumbed to the laws of gravity. Luckily the fin did not break after it detached and dropped.

Very beautiful. We actually have a few of these. They are made of light weight, hard plastic and are very easy to hang. The fin is extremely fragile and must be out of reach of anyone.
