Very thorough.
This book I wish I had when I was younger. It touched on every symptom, question, procedure and informs on things you didn't know you needed. I recommend this to women of all ages and to any transgenderd .

Mythbusting!
I loved this book! Prior to reading it, I would have considered myself very knowledgeable about female health- I grew up in a family of all women, and lots of them, so nobody really shied away from discussing body issues or vaginal health. However, after reading this book, I was shocked to learn how many things I was taught about as being very important are actually unsubstantiated and functionally worthless! The author breaks down almost every issue you could possibly think of- from the generic sex and periods, to menopause and hormones, from BV and yeast infections to how diet impacts your genital health. And, best of all, she does this with research- every point is backed up with multiple studies and research into the legitimacy of each study, too. For example, she breaks down the myth that diet has anything to do with vaginal health because, embarrassingly obvious, your vagina is not connected to your digestive tract. Like, at all. Or, the myth that women with vaginas can 'only wear certain fabrics,' another myth, unsubstantiated with no evidence to back it up. It was honestly a fascinating book. Even better, it's broken down into chapters which are further broken down into short three page subsections for each issue, so it is both very easy to read, and very easy to navigate. I even made my partner read it because, well, he should know things too. A must read for anyone who knows a woman!

Must read for all women
Great book! I can't believe how many women do not know their anatomy and the way in which to keep it healthy. What a phenomenal and informative book! Should be given to every young woman. Thank you

LOTS of info
An extremely exhaustive overview, which is helpful but also a little overwhelming. I loved the author's practical, straight-talking approach, and I wish all doctors were this forthcoming! My only critique is that a large portion of the book is dedicated to medical problems, which made that part read more like a med-school textbook. Still, I'm going to pass this on to my teenage daughter because all women should know this stuff!

Humor and Medicine delightfully combined
Oh. Em. Gee!!! A friend of mine, a retired MD, suggested I read this, and he also suggested it should be required reading for all medical students. As a lay person, I agree. I could hardly put it down.It does read more like a textbook than a novel, but Dr. Gunter talks about a subject with ease, and humor, that many still find almost embarrassing to bring up. Myself included. I was raised in a very conservative family, and one just didn’t talk about such things unless in euphemism. For me, this book is a godsend, and I truly wish I’d had it when I was young and in child-bearing years! If you think there is nothing humorous to write about a vagina, start with the cover of the book, a pink zipper, opened. All those teeth!!! ;-) And go from there. I laughed out loud often.I read this book cover to cover, but it would also be a great book just to keep on your reference shelf. Or, read it cover to cover and then put it on your reference shelf.I believe Ayelet Walman said it bed, “But this book if you have a vagina or if you spend any time at all in reasonably close proximity to one.” If you have a vagina, or know someone who does, I heartily recommend this book.

Excellent resource for anyone with (or has questions about) a vagina.
Dr. Jen Gunter describes herself as a OBGYN and pain medicine physician who writes a lot about sex, science, and social media and has been called Twitter’s resident gynecologist and the Internet’s OBGYN. She’s well known for her anti-GOOP (anti-Gwenyth Paltrow) stance and can be described in polarizing ways as either a Western medicine based woman’s advocate or as a anti-natural or closed-minded anti-holistic crusader. No matter your views on the author - this book is a thorough review of anatomy, hygiene, menstruation, folklore, science, and all things vagina. You can read about and learn how to talk to your doctor about conditions you may have been to embarrassed to ask about: odor, grooming, herpes, sexual positions, vaginal rejuvenation procedures, and more.A theme Dr. Gunter carries throughout her 400+ page Vagina Bible is that women have been convinced that their vaginas are something that they should be ashamed of and spend financial, emotional, and mental energy cleaning, grooming, and perfecting surgically. Dr. Gunter speaks out against the folklore and patriarchy of an entire pharmaceutical, surgical, and commercial industry designed to make money out of shaming women for being women.I really appreciate her stance on that particular issue.Have you read this yet?

Must Must Resource for Everyone
OBGYN who gained social media buzz thanks to her “Myth Buster’s” like the prowling of Gwyneth Paltrow’s GOOP. “The Vagina Bible” is a scientific, fact-based answer to the gobbledygook of GOOP. The foreword reads “for every woman who has ever been told by some dude that she is too wet, too dry, too gross, too loose, too tight, too bloody, too smelly, this book is for you.”This book answers all of the questions you’ve been too afraid to ask, some you didn’t know to ask, and dispels myths about new age gynecological healing. Spend under $20 and get the book. It will save you thousands on regimes you don’t need — stuff that can actually be dangerous — and free up all those hours of internet surfing we do to answer simple questions such as “How do I know if I have a UTI?” and “Does yogurt cure a yeast infection?” (No). More importantly, the book arms women with a tool they can use to speak candidly with their doctors. She believes in informed consent: Give the patient all the facts and let the patient make the decisions. Wow, how refreshing to find a Dr. that actually believes patients can think.Dr. Gunter did her research and shared it with the rest of us. In doing so, she has become all women’s Dr. For that we should thank her.

Informações muito úteis
É tão bom estar bem informada, e nós mulheres somos bombardeadas com idiotices sobre nossos corpos que podem ser muito perigosas. Então, recomendo o livro da Dra. Jen!

Thank you Dr. Jen. 👏 You remove the patriarchy and disinformation from our Vaginas. Loved reading this book and feel so much better equipped with knowledge about my own body that should have been shared with us already.
