Great toy chest
The packaging was very secure. I was surprised at how light the box was. There was a strong chemical smell when the box was first opened. I let it air out on the back porch overnight. No smell since. Super easy to put together. I ordered a personalized gold label from Hobby Lobby to attach to the back as it was a birthday gift for my grandson. The label had to be attached using glue. I used gorilla glue and the paint from the toy chest started to come off. I had to be sure not to move the label around while centering it so as not to smudge the paint too much. I was very happy to discover that the assembled toy chest fit into the back seat of my Ford Fiesta (not the biggest car going!) with room to spare! It holds all of the grandbabies toys and looks great in the living room. I am happy with this purchase and am considering a second one for my house to hold spare blankets.

Adorable!
This thing came packaged very well! It took maybe 15min for my hubby to pop it together and it's nice and sturdy. My 9month old absolutely LOVES it! She crawls up to it every day & opens the lid on her own& looks in. It helped teach her how to stand on her own within a week! We keep it packed full of all of her toys so although she can't reach the bottom she can still pull things out to play with. It truely looks like a treasure chest and to her it is! One thing I really love about it are the nice smooth sides & panels. I used some left over wall stickers (happi tree) from her nursery to decorate the panels & even put some on the inside of the lid. It's so cute and easy to decorate anyway you want to match your kids room, or even just leave it like it is,it's cute. The thing I love the most is that when she opens it, even a tiny bit, the lid stays in place & there is a small gap so it won't shut on her tiny fingers.

So much yes
Easy to assemble, has no slam hinges, and a space to protect little fingers. So much storage I was able to free an entire dresser of toys. I have 3 kids from 2-5 and they run things hard but it's been months with this chest and it still looks so sleek. Also sturdy enough to withstand jumping on the lid and inhabitant the children as well as the toys 🥴 its really paid for itself at this point, I recomended it everyone and will repurchase if anything ever happens to it.

Strong top, otherwise average quality
After reading the comments about the top, the first thing I did after assembly was to sit on the closed top. I found it to be very sturdy even for my 150 lb body, so no worries there. The sides all aligned properly (in reference to some other reviews), and assembly was reasonably easy. The only issues I came across are two things: some scratches (from shipping?) that I'll need to touch up with a furniture marking pen, and it needs some matching stick-on covers to hide the screws' metal contrast (most furniture vendors usually supply these with the parts, so that's a bit disappointing). The slats on top could be aligned a little better, but it's not at all a deal-breaker. It looks decent enough not to feel cheap. Unless your furniture is high-quality design, this piece should blend right in with dark-wood-themed decorating (for the espresso-colored choice). Holds lots of toys.

Couldn't Be Happier!!
We were looking for a toy box for our son, but I didn't want to buy one of those character ones you can find in stores because they are just so tiny. My son has a lot of bigger toys (remote control firetruck, dump trucks, dinosaurs, stuffed animals, etc) that just wouldn't fit in those tiny things. I found this one and fell in love because of the rounded top which allows for some things to stick out a little but it would still close. I was kind of hesitant because of other reviews, but I am so happy with this purchase! Everything fit together perfectly! There were no missing parts, and I put the whole thing together by myself (mom, not dad) in less than 20 minutes. It's very sturdy, my 2 1/2 year old son climbs on it all the time to get into his bed. The only part that might not be too sturdy is the bottom on the inside, so I don't let him climb in it for fear it will break. I love the hinge on it to prevent it from closing and for the price you really can't beat the size or quality! Love it!

Sturdy toy box
I've had two of these toy boxes for over 3 years and they are still in pretty good shape. I bought the Espresso and it was true to the advertised color. It blends in well with our decor. I like the easy close hinges that prevent the lid from slamming shut. But, the llid only stays open halfway on both of my toy boxes. I recommend keeping it a decent distance from the wall so the back of the lid doesn't hit it when opening and closing. My daughter has done that a lot because the toy box sometimes slides on our wood floors. The brown paint has rubbed off onto the wall, but I can repaint over it easily. Very sturdy piece otherwise.

Great toy box!
We bought this toy box for our 11mo. old daughter for Christmas. We love it. It was pretty easy to put together .It looks great too! We have it in our great room. I love that it doesn't slam down when it closes and they left a gap in the front so kids can't close their fingers in it! We had compliments on it. Some of my family with kids wanted to know where we got it! They thought it had a great design. The price was great too.It holds plenty of toys! Would recommend this!

Vendor made good & sent correct parts
Don't be fooled by the picture! It doesn't come with the correct parts. You have to talk to the manufacturer to get the right pieces. You are supposed to get: - 1 pre-drilled lid - 1 front board - 1 rear board - 2 side boards - 2 support bars - 1 thin board - 2 hinges - 1 safety hinge - wood screws, nuts and bolts Instead, you receive: - 1 lid (not pre-drilled) - 2 front boards (neither are pre-drilled. I guess the rear board is pre-drilled?) - 2 side boards - 1 thin board - 2 "short" support bars (when you assemble the toy chest, they slide back and forth. Supposed to match length of side boards.) - 2 flimsy hinges (replaced; see below). - 1 safety hinge that doesn't work (see below). - wood screws, nuts and bolts. The wood screws and bolts strip easily with minimal pressure applied to them. The boards aren't pre-drilled for the wood screws; only for the bolts. You have to look at the picture to guess where to put the screws. The supplied instructions show you where to put them, but a unit of measurement would have been helpful (eg. x inches from edges). The 2 brass hinges supplied are fairly weak. I went to Home Depot to get stronger ones to match the weight of the lid. The wood screws strip easily. Got better ones at Home Depot. The bolts strip easily. Couldn't find them at Home Depot, so I did my best to try to screw them into the toy chest. The safety hinge doesn't work. It's really stiff. I attached it thinking it would bend with the lid, but it ripped out of the wood when I opened the toy chest. I contacted the vendor and they sent me the correct parts. Apparently their website is set up for mistakes like this. I guess it happens often. Now the chest works as intended.
