Sold on Caravan
This is my second Caravan DisplayShade. First one lasted six years until a wind gust turned it in to a pretzel. I looked at a couple other brands as replacement options, but given my overall positive experience with Caravan, decided not to mess with something that worked.Unlike less expensive options, Caravan keeps spare parts available. On my previous frame, one of the X-bars had been damaged when wind picked it up and tossed it down the beach. I was honestly surprised that was the only damage. Called Caravan, talked to US-based customer service and was able to order a replacement part pretty quickly. Fast forward five years, and another gust of wind grabbed the canopy (in my back yard, no less) and twisted it into junk. Went with the same brand/model because the previous unit had worked so well.My only complaint is that the storage/haul bag could be designed a bit better. There's no structure in the entire bag, except for the base, and if you don't get the canopy in the bag properly, the bag tends to drag on the ground while you're pulling it, causing wear on the bag. Bag from the first canopy wore through pretty quickly, so I quit using the wheels and just carried it. I'll probably do the same with this one. A very durable canopy, marred only by a poorly designed carrier bag.

AMAZING canopy! This thing is super heavy duty and ...
AMAZING canopy! This thing is super heavy duty and has withstood A LOT of wear and also thunderstorms, wind, constant rain, and it's done a pretty good job! It is very heavy, so it's not going anywhere (which is nice to know!) and I don't foresee it bending or breaking anytime soon. Its extremely easy to set up and take down (I can do it myself) but like I said, it is really heavy! So keep that in mind when lugging it around. It fits in the back of my 2005 RAV4 if I push the seat up a little bit, and we even managed to fit it in my friends VW Beetle Convertible (not really sure how that happened). I think its like maybe 6' long in the bag. The bag is pretty nice too. The only downside I've seen is that sometimes the canopy collects water when it pours rain, and I have to dump it out. If you can get it on perfectly, with the center circle right on the center pole usually that helps. Overall - one of the best canopys you can buy! Definitely recommend!

Very sturdy event tent that looks great
I bought this tent to use at vendor events for my business. The things I really like are the durability of the frame; it has a cross frame for the canopy; it's so easy to put up and take down; easy to store. The negatives are it's long to store and transport -- I have to use the bed extender for our pick-up truck or put a seat down in my SUV (which I can't do with car seats) and it's HEAVY. That heaviness contributes to the solid structure when it's erected, but it's really hard to move and store at the end of a long day selling. Also, I'll note that it's been put up and taken down three times since delivered and one of the elastic frame clips for the canopy got caught as the frame was collapsing and not only completely frayed, but also ripped at the canopy. I checked to make sure they weren't clipped before taking down. I need to see if there's anything I can do to replace it because I do like that they keep the canopy frame snug.

Superior product
This is a great tent! It's sturdy (made out of steel), it's beautifully constructed, it's got a nice heavy-duty top, and I can put it up (and down) all by myself. I'm small (5' 2") and female, and I have no trouble at all with using it - it's that well designed. I would buy this again. The only caveat is the bag. It's a nice sturdy bag with wheels but it has no zippers on the sides (as other Caravan tent bags do) so it takes three people to put the bag onto the folded tent! Why have such a wonderfully usable product (that one person can handle) and include a bag that takes three? I've written to Caravan about this and am awaiting their reply. Otherwise, I highly recommend this tent.UPDATE: Caravan customer service was excellent! They were happy to replace the bag for one with zippers that I can put on all by myself. I'm so delighted that I'm ordering another one of these tents. (upgraded to 5 stars!)UPDATE #2 - Well, I did buy another one of these, and it came with the bag with no zippers. This bag is unusable. I contacted Caravan's customer service again and was haughtily rebuffed. So I wrote a letter to Caravan's CEO, David Hudrlik, and he couldn't be bothered to respond - even with a short comment about how they've made the decision to use only these new tent bags. They sent my bag with no zippers right back to me - no letter, no comment, zip! (no pun intended) Yes, Caravan has a great product, but as a company the lack of good will they show their customers will, in the end, send buyers to other manufacturers. I've seen it happen a number of times - as soon as another viable option is available, buyers will flock to any company that treats them with more respect, and actually values their decision to buy from them. I'm looking for another tent right now - and it won't be a Caravan.
