Ceylon Cinnamon is the "real" cinnamon and contains compounds that have proven health benefits for diabetics and others. Common Cinnamon is a different, more common variety and is usually what you find in the supermarket. It has much lower concentrations of the beneficial compounds and a high level of others that can be problematic. Cinnamon is an essential ingredient in my 6-cup-a-day coffee addiction. I decided to switch to the Ceylon variety after extensive research into its medical benefits. Outside of the medical, here are the differences: 1. It has a different taste. Not as strong and a bit dry. Less flavorful. 2. It has a much finer grind than the common cinnamon I am used to and is dustier. 3. It is harder to find and more expensive. It is reasonable in bulk. 4. I am getting used to it, and I believe that it is very beneficial to switch if you are a regular user.

If you love cinnamon, this is the buy for you! It’s a great value instead of buy little packages. Rich cinnamon flavor and a wonderful aroma in the house when brewing it. We use it EVERY day without fail to help regulate sugar level We use cinnamon tea water for coffee too. Try it, it will help.

This is hands-down the best cinnamon I’ve ever used! The purity of the Ceylon is immediately evident; it lacks that harsh, spicy bite of common cassia and instead offers a sophisticated, delicate sweetness. Both the taste and smell are incredible, adding a warm, aromatic depth to my morning coffee and oatmeal. It's rare to find a product that feels this high-quality and authentic.

I am not sure about this one, previously I used to have a Saigon cinnamon but after I learned that it’s not as good as the Ceylon cinnamon I started ordering the Ceylon cinnamon. I had tried different brands and must say the Ceylon cinnamon I had before was lighter color, a soft fruity aroma and a smooth taste. This one however, reminds me of the Saigon cinnamon, much darker color, more pungent or aggressive aroma and more scratchy on the throat! So I don’t know! 🤷🏼‍♂️I am not saying I don’t like it, I am just comparing and describing my experience… go figure!

The cinnamon has a mild flavor. Now I can taste the difference between regular cinnamon which almost has a more pungent taste to it. The color and texture are the same but, and I feel better that this is better for you. The container has a tight snap cap for freshness.I also ordered the bag of it just to be able to refill.

Sweet and delicate flavor. Nice size that will last me awhile. Like to add to my tea or coffee.

I was using Simply Organic cinnamon that I learned had been tested to have high levels of the toxin coumarin (toxic to the liver and also a possible carcinogen) by an independent consumer lab I subscribe to so needed to find something else since I have cinnamon on my whole wheat toast with extra virgin olive oil every day. The same lab that tested Simply Organic also tested this and found it to have next to no coumarin, which is one of the benefits of real Ceylon cinnamon compared to the more common cassia cinnamon. Several cinnamon products have also been found to contain concerning levels of lead, and this was also found to have low levels of lead as well. Ceylon cinnamon is a higher grade of cinnamon but is more mild so you may need to use a little more, and it is typically more expensive but buying this in the one pound bag actually makes it significantly cheaper than buying cassia cinnamon spices in the shaker bottles, and it’s also organic that is an added benefit. You may need a funnel and a shaker bottle for dispensing, and I just washed and repurposed my Simply Organic bottle and made a funnel by cutting off the top third of an empty plastic water bottle. There are a few other similarly-priced, quality competitors out there, but this one comes in a resealable bag, which is very helpful and why I choose this one along with that I know it’s been independently lab tested to not have toxins — HUGE peace of mind there. Considering the higher quality, fewer toxins, and relatively low price here I’ll never buy regular cinnamon ever again.
