Utilitarian and Basic But Gets the Job Done
When you come down to it, it's a pretty primitive tool. However, it gets the job done superbly. Works wonderfully well with my metal tubes of hair dye. Wouldn't recommend it for plastic tubes as the tube will continually uncurl onto itself.Update: Still lovin' this gadget! Certainly makes coloring my hair so much easier. Emptying a metal tube was so difficult as I ran the handle of a eating utensil down the length of the tube to release the product. Not any more. It's a breeze now!

Good to the last drop
So great and so useful. These keys pop over the very end of a metal bottle so you can squeeze out EVERY ounce in there. Some squeeze keys are designed to pass the bottom of a tube through the key, which means it can slip away from the bottom as you turn it and leave product in the tube. This sounds like a fussy problem to have but I use mine for my gel based medicine which is expensive and essential to my life so I appreciate not having to open the tube and desperately scrape around every time I've got a few days left before my refill. My medicine comes with a squeeze key that's just a bent piece of wire and finding these has been a world of an upgrade in convenience and assurance that I'm adhering to my medicine schedule. Sturdy and reuseable, so steep price per key is worth it for the use and efficiency. Because these tackle such a vital job so well, you can rest easy that they'll deliver your toothpaste, oil paint, hair dye, or whatever other product that comes to you in one of those annoying tubes.

PERFECT FOR METAL TUBES
I can see why some people say this "key" doesn't work for the plastic toothpaste tubes. You roll the key, the plastic will unroll what you just rolled up. But there's other kinds of "squeezers" that work much better for toothpaste. This "key" works great on products that use a metal tube that will hold the roll in place as you use the product and it's easy to get the key off the empty tube. But don't crank that key too hard when you get close to the end of the tube. It will bend the key a bit. A lesson I learned by trying to get every ounce out of the tube. The space between the bar can be opened a little bit for thicker metal tubes but I wouldn't stretch it too much. It works great on a 2 1/8" wide tube but wouldn't work as well for one over 2 1/4", the actual length of the key stem. It could be used but it wouldn't push the substance forward in a small portion of the tube. This style of "key" isn't new to the market but it isn't easy to find now that plastic is used for so many tubes. I have 2 of them and may invest in a few more, just in case I screw up and twist the key too hard again. I think it's a bit overpriced, but when you need something that is hard to find, you pay what you have to, within reason.

Good to get things out of aluminum tubes. Cheaper than Sally’s

Not great for toothpaste.
My mistake. I read the description as a roller made from metal but it's for a metal tube and doesn't work on a plastic tube - there's no clamping mechanism to keep the tube wrapped around the shaft. That being said, it certainly did squeeze all the toothpaste to the lid, getting rid of all the air pockets which had built up. Seems sturdy and well made with no rough edges to cut myself. Isn't quite what I wanted, but that's my fault.

Not bad, not great
Concept is good. It does roll the toothpaste tube but its loose and it doesn't stay rolled. It unwinds. It's okay but I am going to try a couple others to see if they are better.

Gets all the gel out of the tubes.
These are well made and easy to use to squeeze all the good stuff out of the tube.

A Metal Squeeze
Mmmm!!! Not really sure about the description for 'Hair' but if you have a partiality for Metal, a 'Metal Tube Squeezer' is what it is, a Tube Squeezer is what it does, and a Metal Tube Squeezer that comes in a pack of two. This type of Tube Squeezer relies on the human strength and the human skill to Roll the Tube around the Tube Squeezer as straight or as firm as possible in order to Squeeze the Tube ad get every little 'nibble-gribble' out of the Tube. As simple as this may look and sound it isn't always easy as sometime you end up with the Tube misaligning itself and getting outta shape and giving you a side tower - which effectively means that not everything gets Squeezed out. Worse still If the Tube Squeezer and the Tube size are not a perfect fit then what tends to happen is that parts of the Tube will not 'roll' but will overhang the thumb part of the Tube Squeezer in a straight symmetrical line. The Metal Tube Squeezer has a thin slit - (in terms of measurements I Am not sure) - but the slit is thin enough and apt to fit most of the household products that come in Tubes, such as food (pate & pastes), cosmetics (creams & lotions), and toiletries (toothpastes & gels). It is also a suitable Tube Squeezer for the Artist's whose 'palette' is to paint. It works by sliding the end/wedge of the tube into the slit on the Tube Squeezer. This holds the tube firmly in place - (if it is the correct sized tube). You simply Compress the contents of the tube by turning the Tube Squeezer like a key - or roll the tube around the Tube Squeezer to wrap the tube around the Tube Squeezer - until the tube is finished.Once the tube is finished all you have to do is loosen the grip of the Tube Squeezer with the tube and slide it out of place rather than unravelling the tube. Before we had 'Pull Rings' on 'tin cans', a lot of tinned meats and fish use to open with a similar principle as that of the Tube Squeezer - the principle of turning a key and rolling the metal lid around the key - so using this type of Tube Squeezer should be a familiar sight to some of the older users.Thank You!
